The opening of this store means there's a third choice in grocery stores in Big Bear. This isn't the largest Grocery Outlet around, and the selection here isn't as broad as at some other stores. They do have some good, oddball selections in their wine and spirits section. Occasionally, you can find something really unusual at a bargain price.(...like a French single malt whisky!) read more

I stopped by Grocery Outlet in Big Bear on New Year's Eve just before closing, and overall, it was a decent experience. The store offers some interesting regional items that seem carefully selected by the owner, which was a nice touch. The staff was exceptional! They were super friendly and helpful, even as it neared closing time. The store itself was extremely well-lit, making it easy to browse and find what I needed which was just a few items since everywhere else was closed. Parking was a breeze with plenty of space available, as it shares the lot with another business. After it closed. We stayed in the lot to watch the fire lit procession down the mountain. While the selection was good, it felt like a standard grocery outlet experience, so nothing extraordinary stood out beyond the helpful staff and solid convenience. My kids and I love Grocery Outlet. Every single time we come across one, it's a must stop! We were getting some groceries for our vacation since our hotel comes with a full kitchen. Definitely saves us money instead of eating out. As I was driving in Big Bear Lake, we came across a store. Weren't we so excited? We bought so much food under $80. There were all kinds of goodies including organic products, but for the fraction of the price. My eyes opened wider as I packed my cart with full of amazing stuff. Let me talk about the snacks! I've been on a journey to feed my kids healthy better snacks. This is the place to be. They have a section of organic foods and snacks. Prices blew my mind away! All the products I've seen elsewhere is way expensive, but at Grocery Outlet that's not a problem. Reason why we love this store so much! So many good deals on everything including alcohol. Bought a bottle of vodka made from Ukraine for $8. It wasn't bad at all. No hangovers whatsoever. We will continue to shop here because it's worth every single penny to spend at. read more

I went to the opening of grocery outlet today. It was an amazing experience with even better deals. I got to see the owners today and they were unbelievably helpful, and the employees were also super helpful and friendly. I would definitely recommend shopping here. I truly believe everyone should give grocery outlet a chance because it can end up saving large amounts of money on weekly grocery. I strongly recommend this store to our small mountain community because it will definitely lower the cost of living by a large sum. So I have been in quite a few times since they opened. Cheese seems to be good quality, good brands and reasonably priced. Produce has really looked bad recently. In the beginning. It looked great now I would not bother and it wasn't any cheap cheaper than Stater Bros., but it looked ancient. My son-in-law purchased smoked turkey wings. Well, there was one turkey wing, and a leg and a package. These were the most dried out in edible pieces of poultry I have ever encountered. In the trash, he also purchased a shrink wrapped like flank steak that had been marinated well if you could chew it it would've been lovely. Good flavor couldn't chew.. so stick to them perhaps canned goods cheese and take a gamble on anything else read more

Very disappointed as I am a frequent at Grocery Outlet and was so excited to see one become available in Big Bear. So much of the prices listed are incorrect. For example the eggs I purchased said $18.99 but rang up $19.99 on my receipt. Same with the feta cheese said $3.99 and rang up $4.99. I went home to realize that I was also charged for organic bananas on my receipt even though I only had regular bananas which were already charged on my receipt. I purchased a half gallon of milk and went home to find that I had been charged but there was no milk anywhere to be found. The bagger put three bags of groceries into my cart but must have missed the milk. I'm extremely disappointed and won't be coming back even though I live nearby. Stater Bros will continue to be my go-to. read more

We visited our new local grocery outlet and today and were beyond impressed. They had large live orchids for $10! Myikos vegan cream cheese, probiotic sodas, collagen powder, Kobe beef, wagyu beef, cool storage containers, organic produce.. There were some things we normally buy we couldn't find, but incredibly pleased with the unique items they did have as well as the prices. It's also nice to know you're supporting local business owners by shopping there and the service person who checked our groceries was very pleasant read more

Decent prices. We were able to knock off a lot of items off our list before heading to Vons to finish it off. Highly recommend coming here if you need one or two items as they will have it a decent price. Service is good and the staff was helpful. I was very disappointed in the lighting in the parking lot. I went at night and it was pitch black. I couldn't even see my groceries in my trunk because I didn't have a light in my trunk. I would not recommend it for women. It's the perfect set up for something to go wrong. I asked the guy in the parking lot that worked there. He said it had something to do with the people they lease it from, but there's nothing they can do about it. The store had exactly what I needed. I definitely won't go back at night. Also there's no lights at the entrance entrance so you can't even tell that it's there. read more
