This grocery outlet location was a breath of fresh air. Compared to other locations I have been to, it was larger, better organized, cleaner, and overall provide any better experience. The layout was similar to a normal grocery store. The only odd thing about the layout, who is that there was an aisle of cleaning supplies, and aisle of miscellaneous household items, toiletries, medicines, and beauty products... randomly on the far wall.... The bread and candy was hiding. Apart from that, employees seemed attentive and there were multiple check stands open without lines when I was ready to checkout. I found lots of healthier options for good prices, and appreciated the large variety of organic produce they had available. When grocery outlet first opened in brentwood I was not impressed too many expired foods or very close to expiration. but thru the last couple years it got much better had everything I needed and closer drive then my usual store and prices great. But now 2026 it has less of what I shop which is disappointing there baking area very limited now. Canned goods also and they had more of a selection of personal care. The fruits have really gone up in price. Also frozen foods have become limited and much higher in price. I went to safeway this week and saw that brentwood grocery outlet is now up with there prices in most things. So probably Grocery outlet not my choice for shopping anymore but the customer service is always great !!! read more

In the area and came across this Grocery Outlet. We had to stop in to check out this location as I enjoy seeing what unique products they had beyond the common items you see at each store. Plenty of parking in front of the store. Store is modern, bright and spacious. The produce, meat and deli are in the back of the store and the dairy/juices are in the back right area. The store was well stocked. The store is averaged sized compared to some of the large locations that I've shopped. There were some good deals but I didn't notice any unique items during the visit. We frequent this location for groceries and have always had a great experience. I really appreciate that they carry Halal meats -- it's been consistent with ground beef, beef patties, and steak, all Halal. The Thomas Farms products from Australia are high quality, which is a big plus. Today, I was pleasantly surprised to find Halal chicken breast available! It's clear the owners understand the needs of the local community, and I think it's a very smart decision to expand the Halal offerings. Grocery Outlet is the kind of place you can shop at if your list is flexible and you go in knowing you may not get exactly everything you're looking for. However, I'm kicking myself for not shopping here sooner! The amount of money I've been able to save in just two shopping trips has been shocking (in a good way.) They have both well known and lesser or even unknown (to me, anyway) brands at a fraction of other retailer prices. In addition to staples like pastas, canned goods and bread they also carry a good selection of non dairy items, specialty cheeses, hummus and produce (which right now I'm skipping over in favor of farm stands-but prices seemed good!) The store is clean and well organized and each time I went, there were a good amount of registers open. They also have an app that pushes $5 off coupons to you and shares current offers or deals. But my favorite part are their aisles of seasonal items and beauty care. I snagged some candles at half off other retail prices and specialized face wash at a deep discount. Currently (June 2024) they have a selection of garden and beach items that are surprisingly cute. Grocery Outlet has become my new favorite place to shop for essentials in town and so glad to have found it! read more

Not only does this grocery outlet have much higher prices for the exact same items as other grocery outlets, but the quality of their items are much lower. So you're essential paying more for less. This location is being too greedy. I've seen rotten and spoiled fruits out on display still for sale. I've seen milk that's just a dollar or so cheaper than a places like target even though the expiration date is near. And all of a sudden they no longer allow dogs inside the store. Got every reason to go back to my regular favorite Grocery Outlet in Oakley. Better prices. Better quality and better services. I also feel safer shopping in the Oakley Grocery Outlet vs Brentwood Grocery Outlet as the one in Brentwood had a few cases of robberies. Never returning again. read more

Bad news bargain hunters! The manager, Robin is super rude! Read for juicy drama I witnessed... I was waiting in line and the lady in front of me asked the price of an 8 pack as only the price for the 24 pack was listed. The cashier called for the manager, Robin who came over. The cashier told her about the price discrepancy and Robin walked off to check. She came back and said rudely, "The sign IS there, it's $7.99". Clearly she didnt listen at all so the lady responded, "That sign is for the 24 pack, I'm buying the 8 pack ". Robin walks off again and was gone for at least 5 minutes which is a really long time for all of us waiting in line. Like seriously, what did she even do that whole time? The first time she looked at the price didnt take long, did she get lost the second time? Robin comes back and again, only says, "They're just $7.99". She couldn't be bothered and couldn't care less the item was priced incorrectly and she was really rude to the lady customer. And the fact that she seemed to purposefully take a long time. The lady paid for her stuff and left. BUT GET THIS! As soon as the lady customer left, Robin said to the cashier "give me a Sharpie" and SHE CORRECTED THE SIGN! THE CUSTOMER LADY WAS RIGHT ABOUT THE PRICE SIGN BEING WRONG BUT THE MANAGER WAS SUPER RUDE TO HER FACE AND INSISTED IT WAS RIGHT BUT CORRECTED IT BECAUSE IT WAS WRONG! Why not just apologize to the lady and say the sign was wrong? This was like a soap opera and Robin is the deceitful villian. THE DRAMA OF IT ALL! read more

I love love this store! I am able to get my groceries and sometimes some other cool things for my house in one place and at a discounted price. I now gladly drive from discovery bay to this location due to the over priced outrageous totals I have paid at Safeway! This, as well as the Antioch location are both my go-to spots for my Keto needs. It's never too busy at these locations and both stores are always super clean and organized. They surprisingly supply a wealth of low-carb items at super low prices. Yes, I've checked expiration dates and they are always far from expiring. I've asked folks there and they say it's because they receive items that are mostly overstocked at different supermarkets... which is good and bad. It's good because it's marked down compared to other stores, but bad because there have been times when I go and find the exact item I'm looking for (or fall in love with a new one), but on the next visit, it's either out of stock or replaced with something else. So you basically roll the dice at your shopping needs... which means if you find something you like, grab it... or grab a lot of it, before you never see it again. read more

I absolutely love shopping at grocery outlet! So many cool and different things found in these stores! I have seen butter from Fiji cheese from Bulgaria and Ireland. And have made some very interesting charcuterie boards with things found here. The store is very clean and the employees for the most part are very nice. Good selection of beer and wine and I have noticed that they also have other alcohols such as vodka, tequila And run. Great selection of foods for people on all kinds of diets: keto, vegetarian, vegan and those that are just looking for healthier options to add to their diet. When the store has a sale, they really mark things down. He might need to check the dates because they are not some thing that you were put in your fridge raider for a few weeks but if you are going to be consuming it soon and this is a great place to get some deals. My fiancé and I decided to try the new store vs going to Winco (I prefer smaller stores but Winco always has great pricing) We were so pleasantly surprised by how beautifully clean and well stocked the store was! We spent near $400- but saved $300 compared to shopping at another grocery store. We found everything we need, and more. I was super impressed with the vegan selections like craft cheeses and other awesome snacks!! The staff was also friendly . Will for sure be back, and hope the new business does well! read more

This is by far the worst grocery outlet I have ever been to. I was so excited when I found out my favorite store was going to be even closer to my home, little did I know the owners have no regard for anyone but themselves. Every single time I have entered the store there has been rotten fruit and vegetables on display. I have told multiple workers who have called the owners down and she essentially told me to get over it. Extremely rude and unprofessional. Not only is the store always a mess with bad ownership but I have also seen repeated racial profiling. The older man and woman who I believe are the owners have followed my son around the store multiple times and I have heard several claims from other black people who have also been followed around the store while simply trying to support a small business. I am never shopping here again and I feel bad for anyone else who does. In response to the owners response- Never did I say that your wife told me to "get over it" I said she essentially said that. To be more specific I was told that fruit rots and the staff doesn't check fruit daily for mold. Which is unacceptable in my opinion. My son came home for the 3rd time today telling me he was being followed in the store again and had workers watching every move he made. You "having a diverse staff" does not mean you don't racially profile people. I also found another very similar review to mine from not that long ago so this is obviously an ongoing issue at your store. read more

No. Spoiled fruit off brand names, some of which of expired. I suspect the fees are items that are taken from regular markets as their fruit begins to spoil. The offbrand canned goods are usually from another country, China and most likely and you don't have the quality that US foods provides and doesn't have this flavor. Firstly, I want to share a dreadful experience at this store involving the owner. Apparently there was a woman who was shoplifting and the owner was there with a couple of other employees at the checkout stands and other customers standing around. they were having this woman literally remove her clothing. I really felt I needed to say something. So I stood nearby and said you can't do that you are violating her civil rights you can't make her strip search in public. Not even sure if you can do it anywhere. Maybe the airport. The owner responded to me, that's our sweatshirt she has on and I said oh. He responded yeah how dumb do you feel now? I was flabbergasted. I don't care if you're shoplifting you are still entitled to some dignity when they catch you. Normally you are taken to a back room and it is handled in private. With that being said I bought some lemons there a couple days ago on Thursday. It is now Sunday and here is my lemon. Needless to say I'm not completely impressed by the store. yes they may have some good deals on certain things. But I'm more about customer service and how you are treated when you walk in a place. Again the poor woman deserved privacy and dignity. She was clearly homeless and in a very bad way. I understand she was shoplifting but the owner seem to be enjoying humiliating her in front of all the people standing around and watching. I have been to this grocery store a few times and nothing changes . First of all when you approach the doors there is a large display of plants and herbs literally dead or dying . Disgusting to see such deplorable waste and lack of care . Just imagine if the management allows this outside his store well imagine what he will allow inside . The produce department is a jungle of wilted and rotting produce . I needed some lemons and on display were bags of lemons with some rotting in plain view and had a rotting scent. Obviously I didn't buy any . There was a young man that appeared to be either ordering or observing . He did not lift one finger to remove any of the dying produce nor even straighten up the chaotic scene. After visually seeing this total lack of respect for food I moved on , I didn't want to get sick . Every single department was in disarray . I have never seen a grocery store with such empty shelves and sloppy stocking . The store is a total mess and the employees are just the worst . I did buy a couple bottles of wine and the checker never addressed me , never said anything except to ask for my drivers license. But two other employees and the checker were having a lively conversation among themselves . Such lazy employees are a reflection of management. I don't know who owns or manages this store but it is obvious that that have literally no experience and should not be in any business that relies on customer satisfaction.
