Some customers take service folks for granted. Customers need to know that checkers stand for long hours and are paid minimum wages. One should not assume that since you're paying for your groceries, you should stand back and watch while checkers bag your groceries and check you out with a smile on their face. There was a person in front of me who decides to talk on the phone while the checker bags the groceries, wait for the credit card, and hand the receipt over with a smile. I value clean and well balanced nutrition; I also enjoy an organized store with many options. This is my first stop on the days I dedicate to running errands. I save no less than 150 per grocery run...and as a stay at home mother, this is a dream come true! The staff is always smiling, friendly and attentive. Its a good little store. We got what we needed. We found all of our items and it helped prep us for our drive in to Yosemite. My only concern are the employees and PPE. Our checker wore her plastic face shield but no face mask. She coughed several times. Another checker didn't use gloves and then grabbed my Rockstar by the top with her bare hand. Grocery outlet is always such a great place to find great deals! It's such a treat to have one here in Oakhurst. You can always find fun gifts for yourself or someone special. You also can really find such good food and beverage deals. I went in for a quick grocery run, the 4 star review is for the service, the cashier wasn't friendly at all. We love Grocery Outlet in Oakhurst. The owners, Brandon and Jessica, go above and beyond to support their customers and their community. When asked to donate merchandise, goods, monetarily or with their personal time they go past what's asked. Their store is jam packed with awesome goodies, amazing employees and great deals. And don't get me started on the wine selection. Epic. I've been on several committees with both Jessica and Brandon and they're able to run a successful event, store and care for their employees all while raising 3 small kiddos. I love this Grocery's Outlet. Lots of variety, especially seafood. I experiment a lot with my dishes and the prices make it easy to do on a budget. They have a lot of staple items, consistently, which isn't always possible at most Grocery Outlets, avocado and coconut oil, flour, stocks, seasoning, frozen chicken, frozen patties, as well as a few surprises now and again, which I look for. They have a pretty good produce section and deli section. They also have a huge wine selection, but I haven't checked it out yet. Large household goods sections, dish towels, area rugs, they even had large designer mirrors and garden pots. The mirror I bought was 60% off the retail! Store is always clean. Employees have always been polite. So far, I have been very happy every time I have gone. This store is part of my routine shopping places. read more

The Oakhurst Grocery Outlet is a good place to stop for those last minute supplies as we head for our campsite in Yosemite. This October was no exception. My review is especially for their good customer service and management. My VISA statement showed two purchases on the same day, so I thought I might have been charged twice for my one grocery order. Manager Raymond and his assistant spent a lot of time with me on the phone and checking their records to see what happened. They even had video that showed I stacked up a bunch of groceries which the checker totaled and then my husband added several more items, which resulted in a second total. Of course I didn't check or save the receipt, but no one made fun of me! We'll be back! read more

I shopped here for groceries when renting a VRBO recently. The prices were really good and I would recommend starting here first. They don't have everything and some of what they have is very large sizes like Sam's. But its worth checking out. We bought the majority of food here and then used another store to pick up the remainder of things on our list. read more

My favorite grocery store by far. Cheap cheap CHEAP. Did I say cheap? $1 for 3 Kleenex go packs, $4.99 phone chargers, $2.04 Kombucha's. Amazing Basically these guys have everything from rice to beans to shampoo to organic foods. Some foods are outdated, so you have to check them dates. I am so thankful Grocery Outlet was recommended to me by my DIL. My husband and I decided to give it a try. For a mere $40 we had to bags loaded with high quality food. They don't have the greatest selection of things, their prices are good for some things but most of it is just regular priced grocery store. whatever you do don't get their milk. This is the closest store within 30 minutes of my house, got all the way back home and saw that the milk we had just bought was 2 days expired. Definitely will not be going back. read more

The first grocery store I go to when it's time to restock the kitchen!!! They have great vegan and gluten free options for me. Their organic produce sections has the average amount of vegetables and is very practical. I've seen some complaints about stuff being sold past expiration I can't attest to that due to the fact that I haven't seen it. Everything I've got has been at a reasonable expiration date. For a grocery store they have a great toilette section. High quality soaps with low prices. Grocery Outlet is where I get ALL my body wash and shampoo and conditioner. I suggest Nature Gate They also sell some really nice travel mugs and cups. They only reason Grocery Outlet gets four stars is due to rude unprofessional staff. I too work in retail so I try to give the benefit of the doubt but I can't with this. The staff is always so miserable and apathetic it literally makes feel bad going into their line which makes me feel uncomfortable. Yesterday while I was bagging my own groceries because I just prefer to bag my own groceries the checker got an attitude with me because I wasn't making enough space for her so she can move down more of MY groceries. She could of put the items on the side to be bagged they were small items I know this because I'm a bagger. Then again it's just elderly checkers at Grocery Outlet in general that always have an attitude problem. read more

Just wanted to give a shout out to the owners at Grocery Outlet here in Oakhurst. Not only do they consistently support local charities and events, but they do behind the scenes kindness too. I posted about a family in need of help and the owner reached out to me to help. Today I found they qualified for COVID help but turned it down so there would be more available for other businesses in need. These are humble acts of good, ones they never thought they would get noticed for, and their motivation was just because it was the kind thing to do. Not just giving to charities when asked, though they consistently follow through at various clubs and auctions, but the owner contacted me to see about helping a family I posted about online.That is a humble spirit of giving. They qualified for govt COVID help but declined to use it so there could be more available for other businesses in need. I love to go to grocery outlet to shop, but there is one thing that I absolutely hate and it happens every time I go. The employees are stocking the store while people are trying to shop, the carts with the products they are stocking are in the way, the employees won't move so you can get stuff. Why can't they stock the store before it opens or after it closes. It is very difficult to shop with all this going on. read more

Yeah back to an incident last autumn I never followed up in hoping it would go away and the employee would sober up and not tweek. Back in the autumn there'd been a pilocarpine rally here in Mariposa. All polite and respectful. Except there wax's young man wearing his Grocery Outlet shirt and name tag who was threatening and pushing elderly people and making unveiled threats. He's know to the local law enforcement and has "issues". At the time Hrocery Outlet didn't feel the need to council this young man. Well here we are now after the Riots in D.C. and threatening people are looked at in a different light. This same young man is still threatening people, pushing to start a fight. Still wearing a Grocery Outlet shirt. Name tag now taped over, but still overtly confrontational. I'm not one to back down and I won't, but I'll consider the safety of others around me. If this young man is still employed by Grocery Outlet they know that he has instability-issues and is confronting people. Now they're responsible because they been warned previously. I won't allow my family to shop there and till this company can assure the safety of ALL it's customers. It's a place I'd not recommend. read more

I find it interesting that there are no reviews in 2018. So this is mine - I purchased 16 meat Lasagna's from the Owner and had them stored in the store's freezer until my event. Two days prior to my pickup date, I emailed and asked if I could exchange 4 meat for 4 Lasagna. I received an email back saying no problem. I went in the afternoon prior to my event and GROCERY OUTLET BARGAIN MARKET did NOT have any of the lasagna I purchased from the store. They could provide an off brand in a half size package. Being it was raining and a 45 mile drive to Fresno. I took what they had on hand and was promised that by 7:30am the next morning they would have the remainder of the substitutionof my order. Their only comment was accidents happen. NO OFFER OF TRYING TO GET MY PRODUCT FROM ANOTHER STORE OR ANYTHING. Sorry just isn't enough. Not the review I thought I would ever have to make for this store. I have epilepsy, anxiety disorder PTSD, and panic disorder. After living in the mountains for 1. 5 years and taking my seizure alert dog with me, I've never had an issue with any other employee,until today. I was approached by a older blonde woman (later was informed she's a manager) who proceeded to tell me that my "dog could not be in the cart" I informed her that my dog is a seizure alert animal (small dog) and needed to be close to my face. By law, ADA LAW, if my service animal needs to be close to my face I am allowed to have her in the cart while I shop! I don't have many options of store to shop in in the small town I live in and do not like to even be in the other stores because of problems just like this! PLEASE RESEARCH ADA LAWS AND SHARE WITH EMPLOYEES! This was the only store I enjoyed shopping in until today! Very disappointing!!! read more

This place is awesome! They have a great selection. If you've ever been to a grocery outlet you know they get different products every week. The prices are amazing. They have a big wine and beer selection as well. The frozen food area is the best. I really love their makeup and toiletry isle. Same brands as the drugstore but much cheaper! i can see why people like this place...it's cheap. but hiring staff that have no idea what they are doing and so much food that is past it's expiration date. i'll stick with vons. also, if you have a sign stating one price per pound and the package (chicken breasts) stating another, doesn't seem real professional to have the manager grab the sign and tear it up (then just walk away). read more

My wife and I were visiting Oakhurst on our 3 week trip around California. We wanted to buy some organic veggie burgers. No one sold them only when I discovered this store which did. We gave it a shot and I'm so glad we did, the food is of good quality at a affordable prices we ended up stocking up for the rest of our trip. Organic vegetables are great there and we got some really nice organic prosecco wine for 2.99, when I looked at the retail price elsewhere it was 15.99. The staff in store are lovley and really helpful giving recommendations etc a real credit to the store. All I can say is if you haven't given it a go then you should, we can't speak highly enough about our experience. read more
