Real Produce is located in the Almaden Shopping Plaza next to Trader Joe's. It's been awhile since I've been back but I thought I the past the fruit was pretty, though, now it's hit or miss now.

Real Produce if for real really good! the fruits are like picked fresh from the trees, the guys working arranging the produce and making sure everything is properly in place are awesome. One of them even took the time to go and search for a cart for me since there was shortage. However the personnel at the cash register could use a bit more of interpersonal skills and not leave customers to help others in the middle of a transaction. As per items, I found everything I was looking at more. The store is pretty and painted in happy colors. All look fresh and abundant. Only but is the super long line to pay and people passing with their carts was hectic. Probably non weekend days are less heavily trafficked. Amazing array of olives, lots of variety.

It is very disappointing for a big supermarket, what if someone doesn't have cash and their order is below $5?

They have a super cute little farm stand selling produce, jams, syrups, and a few knickknacks. The staff are friendly and welcoming. Cosentino's also offers classes and events among the fruit trees and flower gardens. I went for a beginner's watercolor class on a warm spring afternoon. Shaded by fruit trees, about 20 of us sat at a long table decorated with fresh-cut ranunculus flowers and learned to paint tulips (very badly in my case!) from a local artist. It was a really sweet way to spend a couple of hours and remember back when orchards were the life blood of the Santa Clara Valley. The farm features heirloom fruit varieties and picks them ripe, so I'll definitely go back in the summer for stone fruits and berries. It was a little early in the season for a good selection when I went.

I finally got the chance to visit this local fruit stand and it really didn't disappoint. It's…read moretucked away in a really nice, quiet cul-de-sac in a clean neighborhood behind Branham High School on the south side. If you live in the Almaden or Branham area, it's such a cool little hidden gem and definitely worth stopping by. The fruit looked super fresh, though the prices are higher than I expected, more like Whole Foods level prices. I thought going straight to the source would mean much lower prices, but what you lose in price, you definitely gain in freshness. For example, their strawberries were $5 per little green basket (three for $15), which comes out to about $5 a pound. At Costco, organic strawberries are $5.49 for 2 pounds, roughly $2.75 per pound. The giant seeded watermelons were $12.49 here, compared to $6.49 at Walmart. (Suggestions from a visitor) A couple of friendly suggestions that I think would be really helpful: It would be great if they posted online what fruit is in season and what will be at the stand, along with the prices. That way people can plan ahead and know when to make the drive when their favorite fruits are available. Also, there are no signs letting customers know they can go in the back. I only knew because I saw pictures on Yelp. Locals who've been here before probably already know, but as a first-timer, it looked like an employee-only area so I didn't go back there. A simple sign would be awesome, it would bring more people to the back to sit, eat, and enjoy the space since most fruit stands don't have that nice extra feature. Overall, worth visiting if you don't mind paying a bit more for freshness.

Produce - everytime im in need of ginger or red onions. The entire batch is always moldy and almost gone bad and theyre still trying to sell it! Or they chop off the bad parts of the onions/ginger and sell it. They do not provide fresh produce and it sucks having to hit 2 grocery stores to get what I need. Deli - whoever is cooking this food either doesnt know how to make chinese food or just doesnt care at all. The food is too greasy and you can find better else where. Dim sun also looks terrible and old. The roasted meats look dry here and no meat... its better at the milpitas location. Aside from these complaints, the meat/seafood section is always clean and organized, aisles of sauces and dry items never disappoint.

As I was pushing the cart out, an employee at the front who appeared to be supervising checkout/customer service, pressed a button that abruptly stopped my cart. The sudden stop caused the bar of the cart to hit directly into my stomach. I am currently 8 months pregnant, and this was not only painful but incredibly alarming. Instead of checking if I was okay or offering any help, the employee walked over and began yelling at me. What's most upsetting is the complete lack of care or basic human decency. I was not moving quickly she could have simply asked me to stop. Using a mechanism that physically stops a cart without warning is dangerous, especially for pregnant women or anyone who may be more vulnerable. I left the store in tears and completely shaken. This experience felt careless and unsafe, and I truly hope the store reevaluates how situations like this are handled so no one else has to go through something similar.

I needed celery for my stuffing recipe and yams for my candied yam recipe. Every fall they get the "Diane Yams", which are the best. They are a dark reddish brown on the outside and dark orange in the middle. They are sweet and delicious. I have never found these yams anywhere else. I buy them from Lunardi's every year. I got the items I needed and headed to the checkout. The line moved fast. The young man helping me was very nice. I went home and briefly looked at my receipt and noticed I was over charged for the celery and the yams. I was actually charged for sweet potatoes which are a pale orange color and they were $1.00 more a pound than the Diane Yams. I called the store and explained the situation. I had to return to the store and get back in line to get refunded. Abby, who helped me with my refund apologized and said the guy helping me usually works the late shift. They should do a little training on the differences between the yams, sweet potatoes and regular potatoes. A $1.00 more a pound is a lot especially when you have bought a large quantity. Now for the celery, I got charged for the blue tagged celery when my celery was clearly a red tag, which was on special. Not even sure how you get those colors confused. Next time I will check my receipt before I leave the store.
