The customer service at the Macon office is execrable. You are required to make reservations now, so I did, but within 24 hours needed to cancel it. They do allow cancellations and refunds, but GOOD LUCK in getting anyone to return voicemails or emails on the subject. Your drivers regularly cruise in the left lane, the passing lane, despite the numerous signs that read "SLOWER TRAFFIC KEEP RIGHT," and the caravans of drivers behind them who can't pass. Illegal and obnoxious. read more

Since my last review, I've given Groome another shot. They have been great since I've learned their quirks (e.g. must CALL for pickup, not arrange it online). Drivers are friendly, efficient, and know their way around traffic. No further problems with the luggage gate. read more

I am traveling from Mack to Atlanta Airport. Groome doesn't have WIFI service. I was told they had it but employees where using the service so they couldn't afford to keep. So instead of keeping the WIFI they got rid of it. So as a business traveler I rate this service a 3 Star. read more

I was a passenger on the Groome Shuttle on Tuesday, April 17, 2019 traveling from the Macon, GA location to the ATL airport at 2pm EDT. During the entire trip, the driver repeatedly checked his phone while driving in afternoon traffic at approximately 70 mph. It was apparent that he was finding music, possibly watching video clips, or reading messages. He also had both earbuds in, which could have limited him from hearing emergency vehicles. This situation made me feel really UNEASY & UNSAFE. I attempted to tell him how I felt during the trip, but he didn't hear me. So, against my better judgement I waited until we arrived at the airport to speak with him. I told the driver that I felt unsafe and was concerned with him driving at a high rate of speed while paying so much attention to swiping his phone with his headphones on. He simply replied that "he got this and that the speed limit was 70 and he couldn't go any faster". I replied, that I wouldn't want him to. Finally, he apologized for making me feel uneasy. read more

My service in Warner Robins was fantastic my issues began when I arrived in macon. This is a good way to get to the airport and also most affordable compared to all other companies in the surrounding area. My only issue is the rides should be first come first serve I was first to arrive ... First in line but since I was flying international driver said I was last to get on. Even with room still in vehicle and the driver even asked everyone else if they wanted to board when they all declined he looked at me and said "you can wait." My second complaint is when I tried to address the issue with Macon Groome transportation they just ignored my complaint. I only give this company two star because the driver I did end up getting was very kind and tried to make up for the driver that rudely pushed me back to the end of the line causing me to wait an extra 20 mins (40 mins total ). And for the fact that I did make it to the airport safely. If you use this service give yourself a lot of time especially if your starting point is in Warner Robins. read more

If it could be a -5 it would be. Had an 11:30AM reservation on 7/29/2018. Walked to the loading area and asked the Birmingham driver where the Macon shuttle was. He said he left. I said it's 11:20AM and the states departure time is 11:30AM. He said that's right I don't know why he left. Each driver has a paper manifest or electronic tablet to verify your name and reservation. So the driver left knowing he was departing early and without all passengers. I called the office in Macon and the only solution was to wait over an hour for the next shuttle. They also informed me to call back on Monday between 9:00-10:00AM to speak with the manger about a possible refund. Absolutely the worst customer service and experience ever. The supervisor in Macon assured me She would get me listed on the next shuttle. However, i am wondering in my mind if it's full what am I going to do? The next shuttle arrives and asks for our names and naturally he doesn't have my name on the list! I explain to the driver what took place and that the 11:30AM shuttle left before 11:20. He replied, no you musta been late. I said why would I lie to you? Also, the Birmingham driver can verify that he left before 11:20AM and your folks in Macon van as well since I was on the phone with them at 11:22AM. In a world where customer experience and service is instrumental in longevity of a business and returning customers are key to sustainability Groome Transportation of Macon fails miserably! The supervisor suggested I call on Monday between 9:00 - 10:00AM and speak to the manager and see if she can do something. I replied ma'am, how about you have your manager call me since you failed to provide the service that I paid for at the time of my reservation. We shall see if that happens. Reliable, timely transportation. They leave every hour, on the hour (I've never had a shuttle leave more than 5 minutes late). I take the ATL to Macon/vice versa route. I'd be sure to make a reservation ahead of time because I have seen people being asked to wait for the next shuttle (the next hour) because they ran out of space on the shuttle. read more

I have traveled quite a bit and have never encountered WORSE service than Groome. It is ridiculously convoluted to attempt get the shuttle after arriving in Atlanta, and many people are left behind even if they have a reservation and have paid for their tickets for a specific shuttle time. The drivers are left to deal with irate passengers and the phone "customer service" people are incredibly unprofessional and don't have a clue what to do. It just took me 18 minutes to get someone to stay on the phone long enough to change my reservation time by 1/2 hour, (which took 30 seconds) . I guess that since the management thinks that Groome is the only game in town, courtesy and professionalism don't matter. Groome is NOT, and these things very much DO matter. read more

I've used them multiple times in the last few years without major issues but on my last trip I was treated poorly. I had a 06:30 am ticket to ATL that I bought several days before. The morning of at around 5:20 am I received a call from Groome asking me to switch to a 06:00 or 07:00 shuttle because they "didn't have a driver" for the 06:30 since I was the only customer. Why sell a time slot that you can't even provide a driver for? It was likely a business decision to make me switch since I was the only rider however that should not fall on the customer's shoulders especially when you have to catch a flight in ATL. I live 45 minutes away and had to rush in to catch the 0600 shuttle. Could this not have been been communicated the night before at the VERY least. This is very poor service and people should be aware of this practice. read more

just so easy. airport to Macon for 32 bucks. can relax and snooze for the hour. they have expanded their radius to include Nashville and chatanooga. the only negative about the macon office...if you have to wait a while for your ride, there is literally nothing under a mile to walk to for a drink or snack. and...no safe way to get there. we walked to a nearby bar but no sidewalks so be prepared to walk in the grass. read more

However today (9/23/13) I rode from Macon, GA to the Atlanta airport with a driver who drove over the speed limit most of the way and followed MUCH too closely for the speeds we were traveling. So a family member needed a ride for an emergency trip the next evening from Forsyth to ATL airport. Booked the trip for a 6:15 PM pickup - got the confirmation email, but it had NO indication of where in Forsyth they would be picked up! So, I call the number listed - got the office in Athens - they looked up the reservation and told me I would need to talk to the Macon office and gave me their number. I called the number and after waiting on hold for about 15 minutes (constantly was told I was number 3 in line) got through. I asked where the pickup would be, and I heard the rep asking around then she came back and told me at the Ingles. I asked where, the front entrance? and she replied yes. So far, so good... (BTW the web site doesn't have any info on pickup locations either). So, we get to the Ingles at 6. 6:15, no bus or van or car or whatever they use. 6:30 finally comes around so I call and was told something to the effect that the driver missed the stop and they can have one by at 7:15. Told them that wouldn't work since it was too late and if they missed THAT one they would miss the flight! Fortunately I was in the position to drive them myself (120 mile round trip and missed family function that I traveled 700 miles for). DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY they guaranteed to pick me up from the airport at 5:30 am to go to another airport to catch my flight and they never showed up. I called them and tried to find out why and they told me I was supposed to go to their office and the bus already left and their radios didn't work so there was nothing they could do. I was never informed to go to the office and that was NOT my original reservation. I have been trying to reach the manager but have continually been told they are not available and will call me back but have not done so. I am still trying to get a refund with no response from anyone. Their vans are old and the seat belts do not work. If I could I would give them negative 5 stars. Horrible customer service! A great business and very needed in our area. How does a business get five stars? When something goes wrong that business has fine people that listen and act to make solutions and even reparations without having to be coached into doing it. Laura McConnell deserves applause for her willingness to take action to fix a communications error that left a number of shivering people at the Atlanta Airport. Have been a customer of Groome for over 15 years. Drivers and transport are fine to get you there but level of professionalism, courtesy and service level continues to deteriorate at the Macon location. I waited in the area for pickup for an hour, asked multiple drivers if I was in the right place since the website and the confirmation email said different pickup spots. A Groome driver confirmed that the destination would be marked on the side of the van. I was traveling to Greensboro, and my confirmation destination said Greensboro. I was not told that I would have to get on the Augusta van AT ANY POINT. I called customer service at 8:46, and they told me the van pulled away at 8:45 and couldn't turn around. I realized that I was standing right next to the Augusta van, watched it pull away because no driver called my name, tried to call my phone number, or look for extra passengers. The customer service representative then just repeated the same sentence over and over that they couldn't turn the van around and eventually hung up on us. I am extremely dissatisfied and will never recommend Groome service again. It's just as cheap to take an Uber and I highly recommend that instead. No reimbursement was given and no responsibility was taken for the lack of communication or lack of attempt to contact. Very sad to report this. read more

We are a large professional family who needs to travel quite a bit. Since we moved to Forsyth area we have found Groome to be a travelers pleasure. Excellent across the board. Friendly dispatcher, ease of reservations, competent drivers (even for my kids' alone travel), clean, well-maintained vehicles, economical way to get to airport. This review was made after about 7 separate experiences with Groome Transportation since Jan. 2016. I used to love using Groome's. It is so nice to not have to deal with Atlanta traffic. However their ticket prices have gotten way out of hand. I paid $64 for my ticket round trip in August. Now in November it's up to $72 a person round trip. It was bad enough at $64 but now that it's up to $72 I might as well drive myself. I feel that they are pricing themselves out. Beware----Make sure you leave plenty of time. The last shuttle I went on was not checked out before leaving. The back door where the luggage is stored jammed and they had to call to get someone to come to,airport and unbolt back windows to get it out. I am currently waiting at the Atlanta Airport for the 7pm Groome Shuttle to Chattanooga, TN. I called the company to determine why the shuttle is late. After numerous excuses from Cakor, the Supervisor on duty, I learned he is aware that the shuttle will be 15- 20 minutes late. I then asked if Groome would wait for me the next time I am late. The answer was no. I then suggested that it would be helpful for Groome to notify passengers when the shuttle is running late. Again, that is not possible. I then asked if Groome would adjust or refund the $40 one way fee to accommodate me for their tardiness. Again the answer was no. The 7pm shuttle arrived at 7:22 and departed at 7:32. The driver was polite. The Groome Transportation needs training in Customer Service. I suggest that customers only take Groome if time is not important. read more

My daughter made reservation for us online, she accidentally listed her last name instead of ours. She immediately contacted Groome Transportation and made the correction. We were emailed the corrected copy from the company. The driver asked us for our name, she said that she didn't have that name. I offered her the paperwork, she said that she needed the name that is listed. I didn't know of any other name to give her, then my husband asked me, "didn't S..... make a mistake with the last name." I immediately recalled the mistake and gave them her last name. If my husband had not been with me, I would have been left at the airport, regardless of me having the confirmation paperwork. I was frustrated with customer service for not taking the time to follow-through on the error, especially if the entire name is a big deal. I was also frustrated with the driver for not willing to use the confirmation paperwork from the company. In addition to not having enough leg room when the van is at full capacity. read more

WILL NOT USE AGAIN. We had reservations to and from the ATL airport leaving from their HQ in Chattanooga. Our driver down to Atlanta from Chattanooga was quite rude to other passengers and to us. The service itself was fine, as expected. When we returned from our trip, which was international, we had to go through customs/immigration and take the international shuttle to get to Groome's pickup location. We had exactly one hour. We pulled up right when our reservation was scheduled, 2pm. We saw our driver, and as we stepped off the international bus we waved at him-right before he took off. I don't know if he saw us, but we literally walked up to the spot for catching the shuttle at 2:01 pm-I had my phone in my hand and looked at the time. I know they need to be prompt, but given we had a reservation (based on the time they suggested based on our arrival) I was really angry they did not wait just one or two more minutes. We then had to wait until 3pm to leave and with Friday rush hour traffic, we got to Chattanooga around 6:15. If we had been 5 minutes late, I might understand. But we had a prepaid reservation, and it was literally 1-2 minutes. Also, not Groome's fault but one of the other passengers smelled so strongly of cigarettes that my clothes still smelled when I got out of my car out home. I will not be using them again. My suggestion is to do the math. It's cheaper to drive and park if it is more than one person. I wish I had just gone with this logic when we planned the trip. I just thought it would help eliminate hassle, but it most definitely did not. read more
