I called to get an appointment for my puppy to have a trim and his nails done. A gentleman by the name Dillion answered the phone rudely then proceeded to tell me no appointments were available in the next few months. I asked If they had a call list to fill a cancelled spot that I was willing to to that but he got rude and snippy with me stating " I SAID NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE!" With that kind of attitude it is very unlikely that I will bring my baby to this establishment or recommend to anyone I know. Amanda is Amazing! I wished I had found this place 13 years ago. I brought my senior dog here and immediately Amanda took good care of him. She handled him with experience. He usually will bite at anyone that picks him up however he was relaxed with Amanda. When she was done not only did he look great, he came out wagging his tail! I brought my puppy to Grooming With Love for his first ever grooming experience. He looked great and had fun there playing with Cash. You can tell everyone there genuinely likes dogs. In my past experiences with groomers, "dog people" aren't necessarily "people people" and they have been hard to deal with. I can definitely say this is not the case with Tina! The best part is that they are very knowledgable and were able to customize my dog's cut to my liking. I have a Shih Tzu, but do not care much for the traditional Shih Tzu cut. I was nervous when I dropped my dog off and saw another Shih Tzu walking out with the breed standard cut. However, I told Tina that I wanted my dog to look just like he was, only shorter, and he came back looking cute as ever. Recently, I took my dog to another groomer who shall not be named for his second grooming because it was about $10 less. He did not look half as cute, smell half as good, and took 2 more hours than they said he would. Just another reminder to me that you get what you pay for. Tina is gone and this place is NOT the same. Been bringing my dog here since day one. She's never loved going to the groomer but totally tolerated it and let me hand her over to Tina with a little whimper, and nothing more. Two weeks ago and this week, my own dog, who never bites, bit me when we got here. She's a nervous wreck and seemed to be begged me (by biting) to please not leave her. I used to take my dogs to Doggy Styles on 12 mile. Then I brought one of my dogs in to have his nails clipped. I called ahead. The girl on the phone said "come on up, we'll fit him in". I waited in the waiting area for over 1/2 an hour. There were 2 ladies working that day. The owner wasn't there. I know this because I'd been taking my dogs there for more than a decade. Instead of taking him back behind the counter to the grooming area one of the ladies wanted me to hold my wiggling, 18 pound dog in the lobby while she tried to clip his nails. Then she told me he was wiggling too much and she had a bad shoulder and sent me out the door. Then I found your place. Totally professional staff, impeccable lobby, and no BS! Been taking my boys to Tina for over 3 years now and I wouldn't go anywhere else. Tried a couple different places before finding Tina and I never had a good experience plus my dogs came back a disaster. She is so good with them! And they get to run around and play with the other pups. My shitzu/poodle is horrible to groom because everything gets stuck and she does an amazing job without having to completely shave him. I would recommend her to anyone and everyone. Always great to see her and cash who greets my pups at the door! Love this place! read more

My dog is 3 years old and has never had a haircut. He is a 4 lb teacup Pomeranian. He has gone to the same groomer his entire life until today. We moved here to Berkley and couldn't drive 45 min to west Bloomfield for his groomer any longer. I searched high and low for people that weren't only cost friendly but did the job with a love for what they do. It was a run around of going to a few other salons and shaking a lot of hands and seeing how Cosmo warmed up to them as well as the environment. I immediately was impressed but they were my first stop so I continued to look just to see what was out there and all roads lead me back to Tina's salon. They were quick and everything was clean! I am so pleased that Cosmo will be back there 3 weeks from today and biweekly in the Winter. Thank you so much to Dawn for making my baby look and feel his best. You guys have won me over. read more

Terrible experience. I've had 2 terrible haircuts. They shave everything including ears and tails. The 3rd haircut tried/ received, they started to shave down to the skin on my dogs shoulder, stopped, thank God. The rest of the hair cut turned out well except they scarred my dogs tush and her pee pee area. It's beyond raw. We are going on day 5 of healing. She hurts to pee and poop. It's horrible! I'm so angry. These people, although nice, should NOT be cutting hair!!! I can't imagine the pain my dog suffered having her skin shaved off! I know Tina used to clean dogs teeth. I don't think anyone here has experience in cutting dogs hair or knows the breeds. More importantly, I'm not one to write a review good or bad. What they have done to my dog's private areas is criminal. It's beyond raw, inflamed and because day 6 is tomorrow, looks like we'll be going to the vet! Great! read more

I had a great experience at Grooming with Love!! I'm VERY picky who I take my dog to. He's been going to the same place since he was a puppy and I have a really hard time trusting a new groomer, but Tina at Grooming with Love did fantastic!! Not only was the customer service with me really well but you could tell she LOVED my dog too! She was so nice and sweet to him! She listened to exactly how I wanted my dogs hair cut and when I came to pick him up I was so happy!! He looked better than ever before! My dog also was happy he was in the shop playing with Tina's dog. While I liked the other place I used to go to, I don't like that they put him in a kennel while the other dogs are being worked on and sometimes he has to wait in there for over an hour! I really liked that at Grooming with Love my dog had an appointment and never had to wait or be put in a kennel! I will most definitely be back again in a few weeks, my dog is basically begging to go back to Grooming with Love!!! Thank you for such a great service! read more

I was so pleased to find Grooming with Love. This place is immaculate - so clean, no smell and I felt I made the right choice for my puppy's first grooming experience. I must admit, as a new dog owner, I took my puppy there not knowing what to expect - like if he needed a bath, trim or full groom. I told the owner, Tina Taylor, that i will leave to her as the professional to do what is necessary. Well I never dreamed a 'rescue mutt' would need a full grooming / hair cut. I thought that was for poodles, schnauzers etc. Well my puppy looked amazing and I was so pleased that I put my trust in her. Secondly, another great sign, my dog loves her and wagged his tail and gave kisses good bye. He did not freak out when I took him back a second time. That says a lot. I wish i could show you a before and after photo. For only $45 he got bathed, wonderful hair cut, had his glands done, nails, ear hair - the works. If you are particular about who handles your pet, don't hesitate to go the Grooming With Love. Not a wonderful experience. I live walking distance from this establishment. So I was happy to find a groomer so close. My previous golden groomer had recently moved out of state. She specialized in goldens. I asked Tina for a basic bath and to not trim his feathering. Just tidy up feet, ears, a minor tail trim. I was very upset to be walking him the block home to see that she had cut off all of his rear feathering. Ugh. But what was done was done. She was not the most pleasant individual to deal with. When I made the appt. she made no mention of needing vaccination records. She seemed rather annoyed with me when I showed up for our first groom. I gave her my vets info. and she promptly called to check on this. I like that she is doing this to insure the safety of all dogs in her care, but she obviously is lacking some grooming skills, and listening skills. Who chops off a golden retrievers feathering??? And I explicitly asked her not do that. It was not cheap. $60 and I tipped her $10 before I realized my boy looked like the Pillsbury Doughboy. No pants. 2 months later and still little growth. Nails were to be done with a grommel. Some may have been done but others look like they were not even touched. The place is clean and she seems very professional but I don't know if I can go back to someone who does not know breed standards. I feel I was treated rather rudely. I love this groomer. Tina and her associates do an excellent job with our dogs. We gave her very specific directions and they followed them perfectly. The rates are in line with everyone else's.
