We've been going here since moving to Farmington August 2021. Since then we've experienced 3 price…read moreincreases. Receiving the below email left a poor taste in my mouth. I have seen multiple people's comments deleted from their Facebook page if anyone questioned anything they didn't want to address since this email. Such a slap in the face to customers who have been going here for years. Below is the email I received in March in quotes and my responses with a dash: "As most of you are aware the economy is getting tighter everyday. Lack of employees, trucking issues, over seas shipping issues, upcoming elections, and of course higher taxes." -- The economy is better now than it was a year ago... Why was this mentioned?? This feels like you're perpetuating a certain narrative like it's the economy's fault for the below issues. -- Trucking / over seas shipping issues... To me this should only impact INVENTORY, so if you're out of something then you're out of something. What happens when a pet store doesn't have my dogs food? I go to another until I find the specific brand that I need. -- Upcoming elections... YEP! I totally see why that would impact a dog kennel business Say no more, makes total sense to me. I assume the prices would magically lower if Trump was in office, huh? "The cost of employees has increased considerably over the last two years. We are so indebted to staff and want to keep the staff we have as they are excellent and we could not be more proud of the team we have built." -- I don't know what to say about this, every time I drop off my dog there's high schoolers working and likely an adult at the front counter.. "Raising pricing across the board to accommodate the increases is where we find ourselves. We hope that by offering specials and the memberships that some of the increases will be offset for many of our regular clients." -- If you're raising prices you MUST be raising wages too right? Because if not this is coming across as any other greedy business trying to squeeze the people of every dollar and cent they can. Multiple people have asked this on Facebook and they have chosen to delete the comment instead of respond. -- The membership... this is outrageously priced for what you're getting, these prices don't include regular boarding so I really don't know how anyone is expected to save anything unless you're regularly taking your dog to this kennel most days out of the week. "We appreciate your understanding and dedication to our business." -- I do not understand at all, this email made you loose me as a customer... One thing I appreciate about Dog Day Getaway, an Apple Valley Competitor, is their transparency to their customers.

If I could give zero stars, I would! This was, without question, the worst customer service…read moreexperience I have ever had with a pet grooming business. We had a scheduled appointment at 1:30PM and dropped our dog off on time (a few minutes prior to our appt time). Seven minutes later, we received a call informing us that he was matted. We understood that some matting was present but requested that they keep his fur as long as possible and brush out whatever they could. Hours went by with no updates. At approximately 4:20PM, after hearing absolutely nothing for over three hours, we called to check on our dog. We were told he wasn't ready because there were still several dogs ahead of him. That immediately raised concerns because we had an appointment, not a walk-in. When we questioned why our dog had apparently been sitting there all afternoon, the story changed. We were then told they had already been working on him and that brushing out the matting alone had taken an hour and a half. They mentioned that they will contact us within 20 mins of them being done with the groom. That call/text never came. By 6:00PM, after 4.5 HOURS, we still had no update, so I drove to the salon myself since they close at 6PM. We were told he still wasn't done and only needed "a few touch-ups." At the time he was not in the front but in the kennel in the backroom. When I asked how much longer it would take, the groomer claimed she didn't know and then had the audacity to tell us that we were wasting her time by asking questions about our own dog and when we can expect everything to be done. At that point, the groomer said the service is now done and she will no longer be completing the service. When she brought him out, we were shocked. He had been shaved down to the skin. So let me get this straight...we were told they spent an hour and a half brushing out his coat to preserve as much fur as possible, yet after keeping him there for nearly five hours, they shaved him completely bare anyway. Either we were given misleading information, or they wasted an enormous amount of time accomplishing absolutely nothing. The grooming result was disappointing, but the customer service was far worse. We received contradictory explanations, no communication, no accountability, and open hostility when we simply asked reasonable questions. The final insult came when she I said this has not been a good experience and that we'll most likely not be coming back. Her response? "Good. That's what we were hoping for." Imagine saying that to a paying customer who had just spent almost five hours waiting for their pet. We still paid for the full service plus tip; despite the experience. Looking back, that feels like rewarding incompetence and disrespect. If you value your time, your money, your pet, and being treated with even the most basic level of professionalism, I strongly recommend finding another groomer. There are plenty of businesses that actually respect their customers. This is clearly not one of them.
