Jane's philosophy of training isn't based on intimidation or "alpha" aggression, but is instead attentive to the dogs' individual histories, reactions, and cues; she's informed about the latest animal behavioural science and is constantly updating her methods as a result. She's also approachable and really listens, both the humans and the dogs! After just a few training sessions we saw marked improvement, and further training resulted in far less reactivity and hyper-enthusiasm; both dogs are calmer, too, which makes walks much more enjoyable. We looked a long time to find a trainer that really worked for us and had a couple of bad experiences from trainers who were more interested in imposing control than in responding to the dogs' actual needs, but Jane made a huge difference. It's been about a year since our last training session and the dogs are still doing really well. Couldn't be happier with the experience of working with Dogs of Distinction!

I have a nervous, not trusting dog that used to need a muzzle when visiting the Doctor - at The Landing, they go out of their way to make your pet is comfortable and relaxed. Coming for Vancouver I was used to 10 minute visits with the Veterinarian... that is so not to case here, they are thorough, informative and gentle. My last visit was 30-40 minutes and my dog did not need her muzzle, she trusted them and was comfortable. I am so happy with the service they provide for my beloved pets. Two thumbs and four paws up!
