We originally came across the company as they have done previous weddings at the venue we chose, and after speaking with Yogesh (DJ Yogz), I felt extremely comfortable that he would be the right fit for our wedding! We ended up hiring DJ Yogz as our MC and Dipesh as our DJ for our 4 day extravaganza and we cannot recommend them highly enough! With the nuances of having two weddings (one Hindu (Telugu) & one Buddhist (Sri Lankan)), they walked us through all the steps of organizing each event and the music! All of our events went off without a hitch, and most importantly our almost rained out Sangeet turned into the best dance party in the rain of all time! Thanks to them, the party kept going and everyone had so much fun, that they keep talking about it 6 months later! It truly was the best weekend of our lives, and in a big part it was because of Yogesh and Dipesh that the events ran so smoothly. As a Type A bride, both of them work really hard and fulfill every request (even the last minute ones, and were able to put everything together even with a few days notice for our sangeet, two weddings and reception). They tailored all of our wedding music to exactly what we wanted (and we had a different song for each of the 10-12 different sections of our Hindu ceremony), and Dipesh did a great job making sure everything was perfect! Let's not forget the surprise bridesmaids & groomsmen dance that Dipesh stitched together for us a couple of weeks before the wedding (which probably would have taken us hours), a complete lifesaver! They did an amazing job with the white drape and lighting. People walked in the room and were blown away. The music was perfect. We had a mix of age groups at the wedding and Joe played music for everyone. We never had an empty dance floor. We were worried not many people would dance with the generation gaps but everyone was up there all night, even my parents and older relatives who seldom dance. When we were still in the planning stages, we had a meeting with the venue and Joe attended. He had so many cool ideas with what do do in our space and worked very well with the other vendors to coordinate. We look back at the pics it takes us back to our special day with his unique touches that turned our room into a surreal vision. Joe was professional and personable and explained each service to us and made it very easy to book the service. The prices were not bad and for the experience we received, it made it worth it. The day of the event Joe came with two other assistant DJ's and set up without a problem. He played all the requested music and took a few requests and followed our instructions to the last detail. Sure it prints out 2 photo strips within seconds of your pose, but it comes complete with large a color LCD display, video recording capabilities, email, and even the ability to post photos directly to facebook! This booth is first class. The booth alone was worth every penny, but what made the whole process a joy was the jovial owners of the company. From the very beginning of the transaction they were a joy to work with. They accommodated my schedule and needs, showed up early and left once the party had cleared out; even though they could have left earlier per our contract. I thought by the end he'd given us all he'd got, but then he came back strong with our Top 40, Mo-Town jamboree fest, and a killer total request hour (which consequently just became a Bon Jovi B-sides hour). Evan abstains from alcohol, which at first threw me off. But by the fourth time LMFAO came party rockin through his sick PA setup, I knew he didn't need it to have a killer time. I showed up at the Elks lodge, unsure of how the night was going to go, when all of a sudden something caught my attention from the back of the room. And there he was. In his dark shades, plaid shirt and windbreaker pants, silently bobbing his head to a beat only he could hear. The night went just as smoothly as Uncle Ned's did. Smooth transitions from early Chaka Khan and Whitney Houston, to leaser known greats like Rascal Flatt's and Diddy - Dirty Money. When Party Rock came back in all of its glory, I was so giddy with delight that I actually ended up breaking some of his gear with my signature arm-windmill move. He was gracious enough to cover the cost himself, and even gave me a kiss to make me feel better. DJ Healey is more than a DJ, he's a DJ Artist. An artisan of music that spins hit after hit until your fragile human heart can't take it anymore, leaving a hole only hiring him can fill. Which my extended family has done anywhere from 80-130 times.
