My dog was visibly anxious and struggling to settle in an already stressful environment. Instead of showing understanding, I overheard front desk staff making comments to one another about my dog, assuming I couldn't hear them. They were laughing under their breath and remarked that their dog would never need to be muzzled like mine. As a pet owner doing my best to manage a nervous animal responsibly, that was humiliating and unnecessary. What was especially concerning is that I was asked to muzzle my dog in the lobby while he was already showing signs of distress. Doing so in a crowded space only escalated the situation and created a potential safety concern for anyone nearby. Muzzling is a valid safety tool, but how and when it's handled matters -- and this was not handled appropriately. A veterinary office should be a place where pet owners feel supported, especially when their animals are struggling. Compassion and professionalism are not optional in this field. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated by the front desk staff during my visit. I truly hope management addresses this, because no client -- or animal -- should be treated this way.

Could not have gone smoother! I'd also like to add that they were available with very short notice (3 other pet sitting companies were unable to handle our request). Also want to add that Stewart (when he came for the home visit) was wearing a mask and gloves to protect against COVID (a welcome sight). The sitters vary but all are enthusiastic based on the reports they leave. After every visit the sitter leaves a note of when they came and left and what they did. They also usually text us an update and a picture of our birds. We come back to a stack of reports. The sitter stays a while after the food, water, and paper are changed to make sure the birds aren't acting weird, and I hear that some singing goes on. We've never had a problem and have be accommodated at very short notice when we want to go away for the weekend. I highly recommend this company. 1/27/20 Update: Just used them again during a ten day trip to Hawaii. I'm pretty sure our birds are in love with Alex, who came for most oF the visits. Now they are just stuck with us. As always, a great experience and we love being able to travel without any worries.

He was also outstanding and so calming while we were freaked out by our cat's condition. Years ago when one of our cats died, they sent us a handwritten card expressing sorrow for our loss. They are just wonderful people. All of the techs are so lovely as well and careful with our cats, and it's cute to hear them fawning over the animals. 10 out of 10.

Ultimately I switched, and I'm so glad I did. The staff is so wonderful with my dog, and you can tell they enjoy their job. Triadelphia may be more pricey and farther from me, but I will make that effort for the best care for my dog.

By the time we arrived at Pet ER, there was nothing they could do to save our precious Mickey. Indeed, he passed somewhere during our frantic drive, between our house and their facility. The care and compassion that shown to us by the Pet ER of Columbia staff in immediately bringing us to an examination room and verifying that he was beyond saving was the best care one could ask for. Above that, the staff's offer to allow us time to say goodbye to our beloved family member, in our shock and grief, despite a busy waiting room filled with other customers was as much medicine for my wife and I in our shock and grief, as any pills. The Pet ER of Columbia staff displayed tremendous care and understanding in advising us regarding Mickey's final arrangements and then later when we collected his ashes. Already impressed by their professionalism and care, we were surprised and touched when unexpectedly, two weeks after Mickey's passing, we received a condolence card in the mail, hand signed by each of their staff. We did not get the opportunity to experience Pet ER of Columbia's veterinary services. If the compassionate, consideration for us as owners is any indication of the care they show for our furry family members, then I have no doubt that this review would be a glowing endorsement. We had the privilege of meeting Dr. Gizachew Kifle, and it was one of the best experiences we've had in our journey of caring for our senior dog.
