We've had the pleasure to interact with many members of the staff, but our main doctor is Dr. Gibbons. She is warm, informative, patient, and completely nonjudgmental. The other doctor we've seen once before in an emergency was a young man with red hair (sorry, I don't remember your name!). He was also outstanding and so calming while we were freaked out by our cat's condition. Years ago when one of our cats died, they sent us a handwritten card expressing sorrow for our loss. They are just wonderful people. All of the techs are so lovely as well and careful with our cats, and it's cute to hear them fawning over the animals. 10 out of 10. read more

Our well check visit went so well! The parking lot and waiting area was full! Checking in went quickly and the wait wasn't long at all. The staff was professional. My senior cat (almost 10 years old) has an unknown condition that has worsened so quickly that I have had to come to terms he may not be with us much longer. I must admit, I want to be selfish and prolong the inevitable, as long as I can--but for his sake, I can't let him suffer any longer. Dr. Allison Shobe, DVM is a phenomenal veterinarian. She has impeccable bedside manner. I have read testimonies about vet doctors and how "cold" they can be; however, I am grateful to say this isn't the case with Dr. Shobe. I know she knows it's his time to go but she didn't outright say it, to be considerate of my feelings. She told me my options and carefully expressed what she thought would be his likely chances of recovery. I was in an emotional state when this was all occurring so there was no I could make a decision right then but Dr. Shobe didn't pressure or push me to make one. I went home cried it out and had a talk with family. I'm heartbroken but I don't want my Phil to suffer any longer. Dr. Shobe called later in the evening to follow up with me and continued to be compassionate. She didn't judge me for my decision or try to sway me in any direction. No cash grabs or attempts to upsell. I respect her a lot for that. Ultimately, I think my family will choose euthanasia. I hope we can schedule with Dr. Shobe. I will update my review later. I do plan to take my other cat here for her future wellness visits. read more

We had to send our beloved pet over the rainbow bridge recently. Dr. Holland and the vet techs on duty we're compassionate and caring as well as very competent. Dr. Holland has gone out of her way to help us through the last month of care. We also had a private room and my spouse and I were able to spend time alone with our dog before the end. Updated review! Dr.Beeson left unfortunately but the vet I've seen since has been just as lovely, Dr. Gibbons. I briefly saw another female vet working here prior to her and unfortunately, was not a fan. But Dr. Gibbons makes me feel like I can ask anything, communicates so well and takes great care of my two cats. She so gentle with them and makes sure to walk me through everything. During 2020, with COVID protocols, I would stay in the car and they'd bring my cats inside and I felt super comfortable knowing they're in great hands. The nurses and desk staff are also super kind, always helpful and you can tell everyone is passionate about pet health. Despite being loyal clients for over 10 years, they refused to see my very sick dog for 2 days. Will be changing vets ASAP.

They have always been good for routine vet visits. But, once my dog developed cancer they really stepped to the plate to help and support us. I call in about twice a month to ask questions, and they always put me in touch with one of the vets within 24 hours. They also haven't been billing for these phone consultations, which really helps out now that my pup is a "frequent flier." They are also really good about COVID safety precautions. They have gone above and beyond to help us out, and definitely don't try to squeeze every penny they can from us. I'm very grateful for Dunloggin Veterinary!! read more

They used to be great. Dr. Schulkin is an amazing diagnostician. The other vets are just OK. The front office staff has always been cold and very unsympathetic. Post pandemic they're impossible. One vet told me one of my dogs needed surgery, so I scheduled it. When I tried to schedule pre/op and bloodwork, receptionist said "no appointments available. Guess you'll need to reschedule your surgery." I'm done with them. read more

I've been taking my dogs to this vet for over 10 years. Previously I had wonderful things to say- but recently they have gone way downhill. My dog Rylie had a lump that I asked them to take a look at and pull cells from twice in the past two years- I was told not to worry about it. Well, another vet sampled the lump and found it to be a mast cell tumor. During her annual exam in 2020, Rylie was documented to have Gingivitis and tooth issues- nothing was said to me. Dr. Holland also diagnosed Rylie with thyroid disease and did an ultrasound (very poorly I may add) due to elevated liver enzymes. I was told Rylie most likely had liver cancer or an adenoma- turns out it was her gallbladder. Dr. Holland took less than 10 minutes on her ultrasound. This led to 3 months of blood work and troubling phone calls where I asked questions and was met with dead ends and and an agitated doctor who insisted that "maybe Rylie got run over by a car and that's why her liver enzyme levels are so high." I am not sure if this practice is having difficulty coping with new strategies since covid, but I find the patient care has gone way down. The doctors seem agitated when I have asked questions or advocated for my dog. As a doctor, it's their job to explain things to the patient, and it's my job to advocate for my dog. I certainly will never be taking my dog back to this practice. read more

They're excellent for routine care. Unfortunately my dog Izzy has been literally screaming in pain when we touch her back, hips, and stomach area since March. She's been to Dunloggin SEVERAL times for this issue. Each time they prescribe pain meds but have not done anything else. No X-rays no bloodwork. Izzy is miserable and seems to get worse by the day. the last 3 visits I expressed the desire for them to do X-rays or something to figure out why my otherwise healthy 4 year old dog is in agony. I have been shot down each time. Two weeks ago she was put on another pain med and we were told if she's not better to call back to schedule the X-rays. Surprise surprise she has stopped eating and is not better. I called and made an appointment for X-rays today at 9:30am. We arrive and the doctor is somewhat agitated that we're back again. She spend the appointment talking over me, not listening to my concerns and just being condescending. I'm sorry I'm concerned for my dogs health? To top it off the refused to do X-rays yet again. They did test her for lymes disease and send me on my way. My dog lays at my feet in agony for yet another night. This is on top of my cat having an injection site tumor I pointed out last year. Come to find out it's routine to biopsy these as they're routinely cancerous!! Never once was this presented to me. In fact we were brushed off and told this is normal. We won't be back. read more

A top-notch, caring veterinary hospital. My mom took her dog here for 18 years, and I continue to take my cats there. When I was younger, my mom and I took several hamsters there for care as well. The vets have a better bedside manner than most of the doctors I have been to in my life, and are extremely knowledgeable. The rest of the staff is very friendly and professional. Recently I lost one of my cats to a long term illness, and they went above and beyond both on my kitty's last day and the weeks that followed. The entire staff sent me a sympathy card, and Dr. Schulkin (who did the euthanasia) even called me a few days later to see how I was doing. During my kitty's illness, which lasted almost 2 years, the majority of his care was provided by Dr. Holland. She was always available whenever I had questions and when decisions had to be made regarding kitty's care she always gave me several options and never simply pushed me in the direction of what would most benefit ($$) the vet's office. Also, I was never once turned away when there was an emergency because they were "too busy". I highly recommend any of the veterinarians in this office to all pet owners in the area. read more

Disappointed. After over three decades of being a client of Dunloggin, I will not be given an appointment because of a technicality on the system which makes my pet new patient. Rather than taking care of my sick pet and dealing with the technicality when the manager returns on Tuesday after the holiday, now after all this time, I am a new client and they aren't taking new clients. After a bad experience at our current vet with our new puppy, I searched for a better place to take him. After reading tons & tons of positive reviews, we made an appt. This place lives up to their reviews. The staff was professional and very welcoming. Our vet, Dr. Beeson, was very thorough. Explained in detail what our pup would need, I didn't feel like he was telling us we needed things we didn't, like at our previous vet. He took the time to answer all my questions & was very knowledgeable. His assistant was great, as well. You can tell everyone here really loves what they do. And enjoys their clientele. If you care about your pet: avoid this clinic!!! I brought my old cat there for a first (and last) visit, I had Dr. Beeson. He told me that my cat had moderate kidney disease. Wrong: he had severe kidney disease. Put him on fluid therapy (when my cat also had heart problems and fluids are an issue for heart disease), did not even thought about giving him an anti nausea and goodbye. This was on a Saturday, he told me to call him on Monday for a follow up. Good vets don't ask pet owners to call them: they call the owner themselves, particularly when the cat is quite sick! My cat was not eating anymore, I made my 1st call the following Monday at 1pm, I was told that Dr. Beeson was in surgery since 11am and could not answer, would call me later. A good vet would have called BEFORE going into surgery. Of course he never bothered to call me back. I called again at 3pm then at 6pm and each time I had the same answer!!! At 6pm I requested to speak with another vet. It took 30 mns for one to call me back, the guy was very grumpy at that in answering my questions. AFTER CARE: 0 Of course I did not feel comfortable taking my cat back there. My cat has since died, I can't help wondering if he had had proper care at this one visit and prompt after care when he was not feeling good, maybe he would have survived. I'll never know but one thing is sure: I won't bring my $$$ (i.e. my other pets) to this clinic ever again. read more

DVH is wonderful!!! It is no surprise they have had such an outstanding reputation for the last 35 years! From the time you call to set up an appointment, to the time you check out, everyone you deal with is kind, knowledgeable, and compassionate. You are pretty much always seen on time (if not early), and you never feel rushed. The doctors are always happy to answer questions and do the little "extras" like cutting nails (for FREE!!) if you're there for something else like vaccines. It seems everywhere you go, you hear people's horror stories about their veterinary experiences. I always recommend Dunloggin, and I've yet to hear a single complaint! I have never been anything but comforted and impressed from the 1st puppy/kitten wellness exam to the unavoidable decision of euthanasia. I sincerely recommend them to anyone!!! read more

Wonderful practice. We have seen Dr.Gibbons since moving to the area 2 years ago and couldn't be more pleased. We have a small menagerie of animals that require frequent dental cleaning, prescription foods and various anti psychotics (kidding, but one of our animals is on Prozac). Every visit has been punctual and thorough and every procedure has been reasonably priced. I never feel pressured to buy their products or have unnecessary services, their prescription diets are also reasonable. I am a tough customer when it comes to my animals but I think this is a fantastic hospital. read more

We started taking our dogs here when we moved to the area. Our dogs don't like this vet as much as their previous vet, but they still like them! We've always seen Dr. Zakai and he's been great with our dogs who sometimes get spooked. He's always gotten right down on the floor with them and examined them at their level as opposed to putting them on the table. Even when we were new patients, they got us in very quickly. Since we've gone their we've always been able to get same or next day appointments. The only down side I've found so far is that they don't have a very large supply of veterinary medicine in-house. We were able to get some drugs from our old vet that we now have to call around to find out who can order them. But it's a small price to pay for a vet that our dogs like! read more

They send thank you emails and appointment reminder emails with a link to your pets own personal profile, with their name, birthday, picture and all their vaccinations they've received and what they still need. We brought our 8 month old puppy in for occasional vomiting and diarrhea. We saw Dr. Kane. 1st of all the facility is clean and the staff was friendly. They greet you when you come in and really seem to love animals. Dr. Kane listened to my concerns and the issues behind them in a non judge-mental way and evaluated my dog based upon her experience. She didn't rush through the appointment and didn't try to talk me in to an expensive x ray or blood work that would most likely only benefit the practice. In the end we received fantastic service at a fair price. What more could you ask for. I would feel comfortable recommending Dr. Kane to family and friends. read more

So happy we have this vet close to our home. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. The waiting room and exam rooms are very clean. They also have flexible hours starting around 8 and ending around 7. They take their time and explain things to you in simple terms. They care about your dog and try to make them as comfortable as possible. They do not push unnecessary tests on you. Reasonably priced. I've brought my dog here since I got him a year and a half ago, working with Drs. Kane, Gibbons, and Besson. They're all fantastic, patient doctors who have had no problem answering my questions, no matter how ignorant the questions were. Dr. Kane walked me through all I needed to know about the health of my dog as a first time pet owner on my first visit. Each doctor has been helpful in different ways each time I've seen them. Whenever I call to make an appointment, they ask me which vet to schedule it with, and I typically say some version of "it doesn't matter, they're all great." We have been taking our dog to this vet center for many years and can favorably recommend Dr. Rikki Kane who has always been helpful, diligent, and compassionate. Unfortunately, our most recent interaction with Dr Holland was nothing short of grotesque as we tried to make sense of the sudden, unexpected death of our dog. Over last year we had seen more of Dr. Holland and Dr. Beeson to treat issues with our dog's nails and behavior. And though there had been more up and down satisfaction compared to Dr. Kane, nothing seemed so bad it would warrant not returning. Recently Dr. Beeson and Dr. Holland had started my dog on a three drug therapy of SSRI, benzodiazepine, and a sedative atypical antidepressant as his anxiety was worsening significantly over the last 6 months. His medications were actively being adjusted when he died suddenly and without any terminal diagnosis while we were out of town for the holidays. Though we notified the staff immediately and the staff stated they would arrange for transportation of our dog to their office no vet actually called us or spoke to us. We called back saying we hadn't heard anything and made arrangements to come in on Monday morning to see him and discuss what may have happened and what to do next as we figured they would be just as interested in identifying the cause of death as we were. But that assumption on our part was incorrect. Instead we arrived to find our dog had been frozen for four days, in a distorted state of rigor with one leg sticking up in the air and his muzzle bent and crooked from, I assume, being shoved in the freezer. When I asked when the vet was coming in to talk to us the staff seemed surprised that I wanted to talk to someone. Dr. Holland came in and stated she wasn't there the previous week and didn't know anything about what happened but heard we wanted to talk to someone. She leaned on my dog's frozen leg, using it as an armrest, as she dismissed our worries about his medication regimen, risk for serotonin syndrome or respiratory depression, and stated the idea of doing post-mortem analysis to discover what happened was not something they performed there and we would have to find a lab that handled that. When I clarified if we would have to find it ourselves or if she would be able to help she let me know she had a full schedule of clients to see and was very busy but she could try and help us. Not wanting to interrupt her schedule while I grieved the loss of my dog I asked her if she could send someone else in to talk to us since she was so busy and I was becoming more and more bothered by the way she was being disrespectful to my dog's body. Dr. Holland immediately became agitated that I asked for someone else. Shaking and shouting in anger she told me repeatedly she was the "top" at this vet clinic, that she owned the place and that she would not allow anyone else in to talk to us so we could "take [her] help or take [our] dog and leave." When I said if those were our choices we would be going but I felt shocked by her actions and would be sharing this with the board of veterinary medicine she told me to "go ahead, they wont do anything to me." She then practically barricaded the door and grabbed my dog's body bag when I went to pick it up all the while shouting and shaking and crying that I was attacking her and that no one else in the office could help me more than she could. Dr. Shulkin entered and Dr. Holland finally left and we learned from Dr. Shulkin they have no policies in place for how to handle sudden deaths like ours since they happen so infrequently and that our dog was frozen because they lacked the refrigeration space for him. He also let us know he can perform necropsy and could do it there. Ultimately, we chose to have him transferred to JHH for the necropsy but Dr. Holland left off the benzodiazepine from the med list she faxed to JHH which was highly concerning to me. Sadly, JHH couldn't perform it anyway because he was too frozen. Dr. Holland made a painful situation for us all about her; and, the office's practices destroyed any chance we had of finding closure for our dog's sudden and unexpected death. I would not wish this on anyone and as such cannot recommend anyone utilize this vet read more

Dr. Shulkin mislabeled my cats prescription bottle (who is elder, has heart problems, and is in early renal failure), as a result my cat overdosed and was forced to receive additional emergency medial treatment. I called Dr. Shulkin to address the issue, he explained to me that he made a mistake and mislabeled the bottle, but at this point it's too late. As owner of the company, he refused to do anything to make the situation better or keep me as a client (my family has been going there for 20+ years). He told me if I had a problem I could complain to others. I would not recommend this vet to anyone. Dr. Shulkin is brash, rude. and has no bedside manner with you animal. read more

I have been taking my beloved cat to Dunloggin for over 10 years. I have had nothing but outstanding service and care for my kitty. Their diagnoses have been right on and corrections the same. Dr. Holland is particularly sensitive, professional, caring, and extremely competent. The administrative staff is also helpful, caring, and considerate. Fees are reasonable and call backs are on time, on target. I have been called as late as 7PM to be given the results of a blood test made that day. Highly recommended. read more
