My husband drives this truck to work 3 miles from our home. About 6000 miles after Tim did the head gasket job is they are blown. I contacted Tim to get some info about what could be done. I asked him how many miles this job should have lasted. He explained that on a subaru a head gasket job would last 80,000 miles. He was unwilling to stand by his work and told me that he won't even look at my vehicle. He explained to me that he has stepped away from working on engines. Please Please beware this mechanic is charging for work that is not getting done. He is a complete hack! Utterly disgusted with unrepeatable people Like TIM SPOONER! Ray showed up very quickly, brought parts, tried some stuff, bought a few more parts, tried a few more things and... after some more parts-buying and stuff-trying (keeping us in the loop the entire time about why he was doing this or that thing and giving us the option to not keep going) he was able to fix the problem, explain what he fixed in simple terms, and give us "things to look out for" as my partner drove home. He made it home with no issues! Ray's prices were super reasonable considering he was doing the work on a Sunday afternoon in the road in front of my house. He was tenacious about getting to the bottom of things and his knowledge of cars is encyclopedic. Really good communicator, friendly guy, I would absolutely use him again for anything from routine work to something more complex.

So lies!! After all that I was presented with a 300.00 plus bill due to a stud breaking off allegedly..
