I called Grounded Electric because I had an older canned light (4-pin CFL with ballast) and was having trouble identifying the issue for switch not working. Chelsea was prompt in picking up the phone and transparent in the estimated charges for replacing with an LED I purchased. I was grateful to learn that Kyle and Joey would be over shortly (they were free within about 45 mins which is outstanding) and proceeded to tell me about the issue (ballast in attic) and fix to rewire for using an LED. In March 2023, the heavy snow load collapsed our roof. Tim and the crew were some of the first ones on the scene. We loved all of the professionalism coming from Grounded Electric. Servpro led us on for a couple of months. All along we thought they could do the rebuild. Around June, communications halted and we lost Tim for a few months. The Servpro contractor we met in May, helped us out in August since he had jumped ship and joined West Coast Fire and Water. We made sure he contracted with Tim and Grounded Electric. This was not a simple project. The whole house had to be rewired since they found old knob and tube wiring. Tim, Chelsey, and the crew were top notch throughout the entire project. They always presented creative solutions along the way. Chelsey kept us informed at each step and responded quickly to our inquiries. We moved back in in March of 2024 and couldn't be happier with the house and upgraded wiring and lighting. Tim did an awesome job installing my EV charger. It was a more involved job because my electrical box was on the complete opposite side of my home compared to where the garage is. And he had to get wiring through two attic spaces. He painted the conduit so it perfectly blends in with my house color. And he patched and textured the small area of drywall that he needed to open for the wire to drop down to the garage. He even met with me prior to the job and helped explain everything to me in detail and helped me to decide the best place to install. I got a few quotes before choosing his company. We've used them before when they installed new lighting in my house I bought 5 months ago. So naturally we needed their help again with a new electrical panel. As ours was from 1953 with plug in fuses. They took care of everything from getting the permit to scheduling turn off power and inspection. Sadly SMUD did take a long time to come to clear turning the power back on. Tim and his crew ended up staying in their car till the inspector came to clear at night. They where so thorough even checking to make sure the electrical panel was labeled properly. Walked me though everything so I'd know how to open the new panel and switch things on or off. I scheduled an appointment to have a ceiling fan and an accompanying wall control unit installed using just Yelp. We messaged back and forth on late Friday afternoon and finalized the scheduling process by about 5:30pm. The company was super quick and responsive to give a quote and schedule me an appointment. The appointment was for the following Wednesday. I got a 4 hour window. I got a call reminder the day before and then before the technician arrived, he called to say he was about 20 min away. All very good communication. When Kyle arrived, I explained what I wanted, he confirmed what he was going to do (for instance, which switch he was going to replace the wall unit for) and then quickly got to work. He had everything he needed, even when my fan was apparently missing a screw, he had one in his truck. He installed the ceiling fan and wall control in an hour and cleaned up after. We tested the fan and it didn't shake or make noise at the highest setting. And I was able to pay right there with a credit card. The price was exactly what was quoted. Tim came out to install a security light and my pool light GFI. I was amazed at his knowledge and professionalism during the installation. When he installed the GFI, it kept tripping, there was a short between the switch in the house and the box. Tim wasted no time tracking the line back to the box and had it working in minutes. He also repaired our shower light while he was there. He could hear the arcing from a bad wire issue done years ago that came loose. ive lived in my house for over 20 years, dealt with a few electrical issues during remodels and repairs. Tim and Joey arrived promptly at the start of the appointment window and carefully listened to how we wanted power run into a closet that we were converting into a wine room. Tim pointed out that the light fixture we had chosen was not very practical for the space and suggested a better solution for us that also eliminated the need for any invasive drywall repair.
