I was excited to hear of Chef Linda's European background and her interest in farm to table foods - she forages mushrooms for her dishes(mushroom risotto was out of this world!). I enjoyed working with Chef Linda to carefully select dishes for my wedding - from the cocktail hour to the after party. She accommodated and handled all requests gracefully. She always had a positive attitude and stayed attentive through all the planning and the day of, even with the heat of a summer day in August! Chef Linda's knowledge, experience, and energy made me feel calm and confident that everything was going to be perfect. And it was! The food was fresh, cooked perfectly and of course delicious - my guests still(it's been 2 years) talk about the food! And for the most important part - the cake, it was absolutely unforgettable - the flavor combination was unique and it worked so perfectly! I still dream about my cake! My husband and I could not be happier with our wedding catering from Grounded on September 6th. From the very beginning, Linda was made us feel that one thing we knew would capture us perfectly and bring us joy on our wedding day would be the food--and she did not disappoint! Her communication was seamless, professional, and warm -- we always felt like we were in good hands. And the food... the food was unreal. The live fire cooking added such a special touch -- it looked amazing and made everything smell incredible. The flank steak with chimichurri was a huge hit (so flavorful and perfectly cooked), and the salmon was just GORGEOUS. Our guests are still talking about it! The staff day-of was just as impressive -- super attentive, kind, and on top of everything without ever being overbearing. They really helped everything flow so smoothly. We're so grateful for the care and talent Linda and her team brought to our day. If you're planning an event in the Hudson Valley or Catskills area, do yourself a favor and book them immediately. Linda (Grounded catering) was an incredible pleasure to work with, and her food was top notch. Absolutely every piece of food on our menu that Linda so carefully helped us plan out was amazing; all of it was fresh, hot, and incredibly tasty. Linda answered any and all of our many questions along the way and despite having spanned THREE years our menu tasted as incredible as the first time we met with Linda (though be warned - she's regularly checking her email well past midnight!! :) ) All of the staff Linda brought to the event were incredibly kind, professional, and handled even our most rambunctious guests with aplomb. The wait staff and bartenders were incredible help, and i cannot think of a way that their service could have been better. My only regret having gone with Linda (Grounded) is that because she's in the catering business and not restaurant, we can't stop by every week for another taste of some of the incredible food Linda made possible for us on a very special night. I am a wedding and event planner and have worked with Linda (owner and Chef at Grounded) and she is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. She is definitely my go-to caterer for events for multiple reasons. The quality of her food is outstanding. She is extremely creative and will develop menus that are very different than your standard event/wedding caterer. She loves to forage and grow her own vegetables and herbs. She uses all local ingredients and supports local farms. Not only is the quality of her food incredible, but her level of service is top-notch. She is extremely responsive and her on-site team is very experienced. My clients have always loved her and working with her. She's very outgoing, funny and driven! She never drops the ball on anything and always arrives on-site at the scheduled time and always produces amazing work. She is constantly looking for ways to be even more creative and I can't wait to see what she comes up with in 2020! I look forward to working with her more this year! read more

From our first phone conference, Linda made everything feel possible! We had some specific requests based on allergies and guest restrictions, and it all happened! When we found out Grounded could do food, bar, and wedding cake, we were in Heaven! We booked Linda and her team for all three services, and people are still raving. I don't know if I can wait until our first anniversary to have our wedding cake again - I want a piece right now! By our wedding day, we did not have a single worry about food/drink/set-up/clean-up thanks to Linda and her team. She was extremely professional AND caring on our big day. We felt like we had a friend and also a team leader by our side. She made sure we had food and a signature cocktail right after the ceremony, in our brief alone time. My wife and I kept saying, "Even if everything else goes wrong, at least we get to eat Linda's food." It was that good. And her cheesecake? Literal best-in-the-world status. No notes. The Grounded team is AMAZING! I never look forward to catered events. Not only do I assume that I'll never eat anything but lettuce leaves as a lifelong vegetarian with Celiac disease -- but if there is an option I can actually eat aside from lettuce leaves, it's always processed and/or bland. Grounded catered a work event for us, and it was fantastic! Their menus were super creative and tasted home-cooked. Also, the catering staff was SO personable and attentive. Linda and her staff truly came through for my wife and I after the caterer we talked to for months before our wedding dropped the ball.
