I looooove a venue by the water. The food was delicious and the space was beautiful. The only complaint we had was not having anywhere ready for us to sit as we arrived. We had to wait in the hallway. The wait staff just Kept the apps coming and coming through the cocktail hour and everything was so diverse. There was all types of cuisine from lo mein type noodles to charcuterie fixings. We loved it! The champagne wall was nice too! It was a great size for our huge family plus all of the extra fun things the bride and groom had going on.

First let me say, the views are stunning! Such gorgeous views of the river and the FDR bridge. We went for their Thanksgiving buffet. The venue is gorgeous! Beautifully decorated and well laid out. We were brought to our table right away even though we were 30 minutes early. Our waiter came right off and offered us drinks. He told us where the plates were and what the stations are. I started with some shrimp cocktail. Perfectly cooked and delicious cocktail sauce. Of course I opted for traditional Thanksgiving fare, turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc. All were delicious! However, they also offered ham, prime rib and close to 20 other options- something for everyone! The dessert station was a dream - I felt like a kid in a candy store!! The staff were all so friendly and accommodating. I couldn't have chosen a more lovely place to celebrate! Thank you all for making our day truly memorable!!

Everything!!!!!! A wonderful wedding! The only disappointment was The Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel where everyone stayed. It is in desperate need of a renovation! So outdated. They tried to make it look nice with a few crystal chandeliers and nice chairs in the lobby, but that's where it started and finished in that one spot. We're only there for the one night. The wedding made up for it.

    Happy day!

My husband and I came here to help celebrate our friends' union and it was such a beautiful ceremony and reception. They read their vows with panoramic Hudson River views as their backdrop. It was breathtaking. The bridal attendant/maître d', Stephanie (?) and Crystal, were on point with helping the bride ready for her debut. The bridal suite was decked out with champs and snacks. They were also able to assist with bustling and adornments. As our friends sealed their marriage with a kiss, the sun set and the guests filed in to the cocktail hour area. The staff was super friendly and on point. The food was very good. Some of my faves were the sliders, crab cakes, calimari, mini wellies and coconut shrimp. The bartenders were great. "The Honeymoon" was a popular drink. The setting for the reception was awesome. The weather lent for continuous views of the Hudson River and the beautifully lit Mid-Hudson Bridge. Definitely IG worthy pics to be had. The sound system was great and we danced all night. Again, the staff was very attentive. Our entire table was up dancing and they served our entrées with dish covers to keep them warm. I had crab stuffed shrimp and hubby had my strip, both of which were really good. The wedding cake was amazing also. This is a gorgeous venue and I'm sure it would offer elegance in any season. Happy for our friends and happy to have had a great night at such a great space.

BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE! My husband and I cannot speak enough about how INCREDIBLE this venue was. From start to finish, they were accommodating and attentative- they anticipated our every need and were so supportive. If we had a hiccup, they smoothed it out on the spot and made it an experience to remember! Our guests RAVED about the food- and boy do they have an amazing selection. Our wedding Maitre d' was AMAZING- ensuring that we hydrated and kept our food warm and saved us the foods we really wanted to try but didn't get to. Hayley and Abigail were essential to planning it all and answered all of our questions quickly! Every staff member was so sweet and helpful, every single staff member. We had rain on our wedding day but they made the ceremony BETTER than we expected- I still don't know how they pulled that off. BOOK THIS VENUE, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!

    My dinner was so good!!

This was just an amazing venue for a wedding. Everything was perfect. The views, the food, and the drinks. You helped make my nephew and niece's special day even more special.

A freezer burned filet mignon that was so bad I never even ate it. The potatoes tasted like the cream went bad.

And the communication internally at this hotel is lacking. The housekeepers are very nice, but clearly there is a lack of communication or they would have known that I was not checking out until 1 PM and that I needed linens and towels the day before.

The room was well kept and supplies were given (even toothpaste and toothbrush, showercaps). Towels were changed daily and beds made and I was there for two nights three days. The indoor pool and hot tub were well kept and had separate towels for use. I would def return. I took one star off because we had the handicap bathroom and the standing shower was not draining well, water kept escaping out of the bathroom into the hallway. However once we spoke to the front desk , they accommodated lots of extra towels for us to dry the area up.

I was a bridesmaid this past weekend for a wedding that had the rehearsal dinner at Keepsake. I…read morecannot stress enough how HORRIBLE our experience was. The venue came into new ownership very recently and their communication with our bride was terrible. After finding it nearly impossible to get in touch, many details were left unconfirmed until a few days before the wedding event. They are assured by Jordan, however, that things would be smooth after an apology for going awol. This did not occur. Upon arrival, The groom found none of the tables set up and that their video slideshow and playlist (which had been discussed and confirmed with Jordan) were not set up or playing either. He had to spend the beginning of his own event setting this up. After the guests had arrived, there was a delay with the selected passed hors d'oeuvres coming out and the ones passed out were not what were selected ahead of time. When the bride inquired to the delay and mistake, she was cursed at by the staff member, Demal, who raised his voice and said they were "fucking coming!" and that she needed to relax. It was completely inappropriate and made our bride cry and miss out on time during her special event. The actual dinner food that eventually did come out was almost entirely different from what the bride and groom had selected and included no vegetarian options that were also preplanned. One of the guests actually went to a pizza place to pay for pizza for the rest of the vegetarians. It was absolutely unacceptable and made the couple deeply disappointed. The literal only positive was the server, Angel. She went out of her way amidst all the chaos to check in with our bride and to make sure that everyone was OK despite all the challenges. It should be noted that while everyone else had a cold or quite objectively mean demeanor, Angel was exceptionally warm and apologetic. I would absolutely not recommend this venue to anyone looking for a smooth event that matched their planning. The staff both ahead of time and at the event were poor communicators, unprofessional, and downright rude. Definitely take your business elsewhere.

To anyone considering the Keepsake, please note that all their wonderful reviews are from before…read morenew owners Jordan and Damel took over. Please also know we have never left a poor review before. We booked with the Keepsake for our rehearsal dinner when Dana, the sales coordinator, was our contact and she was incredible. When the new owners took over, it became an absolute nightmare. We reached out to them with multiple emails and voicemails weeks before our event until finally receiving a phone call back. The same situation occurred days before the event when we were unable to reach them again. This made an already stressful time even worse. Then the day of our rehearsal dinner was an absolute disaster. They were in complete breach of our contract in every way and form. The groom had to set up the chairs himself upon arrival (or else it wouldn't have been done), and other things we were assured would be ready (our video slideshow, a staff greeter, our playlist and more) were nowhere to be found. Only some items from our menu were served, while many were completely left out. We had hungry guests traveling from long distances and were left waiting for food that was served an hour after the agreed upon time. So many food items were wrong and missing that one of our guests had to run and get pizza so our vegetarians would have something to eat. This was especially shocking since our menu and timeline was clear and even created during a meeting with Damel and Dana. Jordan was not present at the event due to family emergency. But Damel, instead of being apologetic and attempting to fix the problems, was rude, aggressive and defensive. He accused the groom of yelling at the staff (he did not) and had the nerve to scold the crying bride to "calm down". He then cursed at us saying "the f'ing appetizers are coming out" (they did not). As for the buffet, some food was cold, serving utensils were missing, and refill trays weren't filled for 20 minutes. The night before our wedding, we were made to feel like the bad guys for simply wanting our agreed upon event and bride spent most of the evening crying. The only bright spot in the horrible night was Angel, the catering manager, who had only worked there a week. She was apologetic and kind and attempted to put out every fire she could. She even downloaded Spotify premium on her own dime to get our playlist playing. Thank you Angel! The rest of the staff were also working as hard as they could when being put in a terrible position by terrible management. The owners excuses were insufficient and their behavior was inexcusable. They were, unprepared, downright cruel, and completely mishandled our event. We cannot warn you enough to never book at the Keepsake, at least while Jordan and Damel are in charge.

Instead, we found a culinary gem. The space is spectacular -- bright, open, and surrounded by relaxing river ambiance. We began our evening on the outdoor balcony, but a sudden thunderstorm dropped a tsunami of rain prompting a quick relocation into the equally welcoming main dining room. Our waiter, a charming young man from Hungary, gave us an excellent primer on the menu, which expertly balanced accessible staples with high-end luxury (creeping all the way up to an eye-popping $155 Wagyu steak special -- there were only 15 servings available for the night we later found out). As Port lovers, we were floored by the beverage options. Living outside of Philadelphia, we're used to restaurants offering one or two uninspired Tawnys. Shadows boasts an embarrassment of riches. Our waiter candidly confessed Port wasn't his forte and quickly dispatched the sommelier, Enrique. The fluid, passionate back-and-forth that followed was incredible; we learned more about wine in five minutes with Enrique than in decades of traveling. We gladly handed him the steering wheel for the rest of the night. Because we were celebrating my birthday, we went all in. My wife crossed caviar off her bucket list and tried the delectable octopus -- a substantial steak rather than the usual fried bits at most establishments. After some enabling from my wife, I went temporarily insane and ordered the Wagyu. As frequent diners, it was the priciest plate I've ever ordered, and it was worth every single penny. From the kitchen's flawless execution to exceptional hospitality that extended from the GM to the bus staff, the evening was perfect. Yes, we dropped a small fortune, but entirely by choice -- the menu accommodates nearly all budgets. We left feeling like we made out like bandits because the memories were priceless. Several times during dinner I literally felt envious of the locals. I hope they realize what a treasure they have in their midst.

I found mixed results with the food. The flatbread appetizer and cheesecake dessert was very good. I ordered steak as my entree and the server asked if I wanted it cooked rare, medium, or well done. I asked for medium rare and she said they couldn't do that. What kind of high end restaurant can't cook a steak medium rare? I found the cut I received to be way too overcooked. If you're looking for a place with a great view, stop by. Just don't order steak.
