The team ran into some problems that were outside of their control and handled them extremely well. The spray makes a mess but they covered beforehand, and then cleaned up very well afterwards. I also discovered that the technician moved my security camera from the window to a table without asking. This was captured on my security footage. When I raised these concerns with management, I felt they were dismissed. The manager told me he believed the technician's account over mine despite the video I provided. I also informed him that I intended to leave an online review. During our conversation, he responded by saying, "I'll sue you for defamation." And, " I can't wait to see everyone on Reddit laugh at you" That response made me question whether customers feel comfortable leaving honest negative reviews after receiving that kind of warning. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend this company. I encourage anyone hiring these contractors to have security cameras and to document the condition of their home before and after service. In my opinion, moving a customer's security camera without permission is a serious security concern. Xcel's website has a list of companies you should use I'll provide a list below. That is not the norm when interacting with the trades. My HVAC system had a pipe break and it was leaking water over electrical cords. This was an electrical hazard in the making. The leaky pipe was spilling water all over the play yard of my dog training facility. My team could not use the space, as the water was growing an ecosystem and the dogs wanted to lap it up like a kale fruit drink. Hello giardia! Sean noticed that our HVAC system was not sealed, so we were essentially heating and cooling the outside. They sealed what needed sealing and replaced our air filters. My understanding is that the team primarily does insulation in Denver, so they can help with that, too. Drug-free crew...no meth mouth. Hire these people.

As it turned out, we had lacking insulation in our attic and no insulation at all in our exterior walls. Mark presented us with several options and guided us toward the option that would have the most immediate impact and fit our budget. He filed all of the paperwork for the Xcel rebate. While Xcel took quite a while to process the rebate, it ended up being substantially more than I was expecting and certainly help offset the costs improving the insulation throughout our home. Before the improvements, the second level of our 2-story home was significantly hotter in the Summer or colder in the Winter, than the main floor. Now, we have consistent temps throughout the house and are seeing lower Xcel bills too. Mark and his assistant were courteous and professional throughout the 2-day job and very Covid conscious as well, which was appreciated. Highly recommended!!!

Mario is a nice, polite and well versed serviceman. During the inspection he mentioned the capacitor was "reading low" and he recommended I replace it. I looked it up on google and it suggested the price of the part was about $25. Now mind you, I had no trip cost, as he was already on premises for the annual service. He quoted $500 and change. I was shocked and he then went to to say that I really should install a "Turbo Capacitor" and "UPGRADE THE ELECTRONICS. for a total cost of $702. Now look at this video on replacing the capacitor for $25 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BwdsAD019pk I challenged the number and asked him to cal the office. They confirmed that the price is fixed - I felt under the gun. He was already here, trip fare was paid so I figured to approve the install and challenge the number with the office. He then told me that the insulation was warn, so he needed to replace, not urgent, but needed. About 18" of foam insulation....price $209....FOR 18" of cheap, off the shelf insulation that probably costs under $1....and he was already at my place. After a lot of back and forth, he "threw in" the foam. I called the office and explained my shock at the price and was told they bill at $400/hr labor plus parts. Even with trhat exorbitant hourly rate, he hardly worked for 45 minutes to do all the work, so I asked for a breakdown of parts and labor. Was told they work on fixed pricing with no breakdown. I have been a satisfied customer and find their technicians to be able and polite. On their website I gave them a 4 star review thing I would be able to put some of this story but there was no such opportunity. I hate feeling that every time something needs repair, you have to guard against being taken advantage of. I thought I had a trusting relationship with them, and am disappointed to find out that is not the case.

In addition to all of his recommendations, he is getting me a $40 annual credit with xcel at no cost to me. Among other things, he discovered that our bathroom is venting into insulation in our attic (a risk factor for mold) and that our sunlight needs to be sealed. Robert did a bang-up job on the sealing and insulation, including removing 4 layers of old insulation (which was unexpected), removing and installing new can light fixtures, and hooking me up with good drywaller to help clean up everything afterwards. When I went to change the filter (I had a HVAC professional replace the filter shortly after buying the condo), I noticed that the sticker with the serial number and model number was in fact not painted over, but instead was right next to the filter. Recently, the unit has been acting up and I have been told it needs to be replaced because of its age. I do not expect Alpine to be experts in HVAC. I do however expect any general inspection to take a reasonable effort to find all the information possible about the various parts and pieces that were inspected. They failed to do this with the most expensive part of the condo. After going online and decoding the serial number and model number that they missed, I found that the unit is nearly 25 years old and is beyond the end of life. The purpose of inspection is to identify things like this so that I can ask for concessions at closing. Without that sticker, I had no way to do that. Now, less than a year after being here I am having to replace this special HVAC unit that will end up costing me over 20k. Final cost is yet to be determined. Alpine failed in their most basic of tasks.
