We consult our super who says that because the technician just put new grout on top of the old grout without removing it first, it's all going to fall out eventually. We convey to Eddie that we are aware that he cut corners, as well as our desire for a refund since we now have to hire someone reputable to repair the grout. He acknowledges that the job was not done properly and offers to redo. Having him come back for more shoddy work is not a solution. We reiterate our refund request, but are denied. A business that doesn't stand by its work. We'll be seeing Eddie in court.

If you've worked with a lot of folks in the trades, this is very much the exception to the rule, and as such I was pleasantly surprised. Lou quickly got back to me with a very reasonable quote, and once we agreed on the details and a date, we were off and running. We had some damage and discoloration on our white oak floors, and we wanted to sand and refinish them. Lou was helpful as we got together the paperwork my building required to get it done. On the agreed upon day, his guys showed up on time, and while they weren't the excellent communicators that he is (their English wasn't great), they were conscientious and obviously knew what they were doing. Lou said the work would take 1-2 days, and they were done in just a day. We had a minor hiccup after the fact, but Lou immediately investigated the issue, and handled it well.
