I had a pretty good experience here last week. I came in for a routine check up and cleaning. As soon as I walked in I was greeted and checked in. I was 30minutes early so I did have to wait until 1:30 which was my assigned appointment time. Once I was called back my X-rays were done and I had about a 10-15 minute wait for the doctor. Back to X-rays another wait for the doctor and then another wait for the hygienist - I was so nervous I wasn't worried about the time but geez I was there from about 1:30 until about 3/3:30 My hygienist was Dulce, she was so gentle and professional during my cleaning. love the staff and the doctor. Although this was my first encounter, they seem to care and i love that they speak with you regarding cost tight away so its clear. The only thing i didn't know is that when you see the dentist it doesn't mean that the hygienist will be able to clean your teeth.... so had to make a separate appointment. Very disappointed in my visit. I was told by the doctor that I needed to have 2 root canals and two caps put on. With my insurance my total was supposed to come out to just over $2,000. Mind you they did a teeth cleaning that day and charged me $150. My husband also went to the same doctor and was told he needed work on his teeth which was supposed to be $1,500. They cleaned his teeth and charged close to $600. I thought the price was way too much because we have insurance. We went to a different dentist for a second opinion. Both of our X-rays on our teeth showed we did not need any work done... this office was going to do work on my husband and my teeth that didn't need to be done???!!!! The cherry on top... the new dentist said our insurance covers teeth cleaning... so we paid this office just about $750 for a job that was supposed to be covered by insurance. This place is horrible and I do not recommend anyone to go to this office. This place is a scam and wanted to drill into my mouth just to cash out. Very disappointing to see this dentistry try to take advantage of people. If you have gone to this dentist and they have told you, you need work done I highly recommend a second opinion. read more

Only good thing I can say is that the staff was nice. The whole process of my teeth cleaning wasn't very great. The door was kept open and people were constantly walking past AND in and out of the room. I felt like I had no privacy at all. Plus the computer screen with all my information faced the door so anyone who passed by could see it. Now for the teeth cleaning itself. I'm used to having a dental assistant that uses the suction throughout the whole process but that wasn't the case at this place. When the dentist cleaned my teeth, I felt a piece of plaque land on my tongue but they didn't use the suction to clean it up before leaving and making me wait again. The dentist only cleaned a few of my teeth rather than everything so he was done in less than 10 minutes. I noticed that I still had plaque on my teeth (which was the whole reason for this teeth cleaning) only a few days after my appointment. Additionally, I was told that I had no cavities after going through the whole first-time-patient X-ray process, but the other dentist I went to (for a proper teeth cleaning) told me I had several cavities. I was hoping this place would be good based on the reviews I read, however I can't agree with them. read more

Wow is all I can say. My husband went to establish care and tooth cleaning. I was in the waiting room and after 2 hours I asked what was taking so long. I find out that they are prepping for a crown that was possibly not placed correctly, rather than letting him know to go to his previous dentist that put the crown on & to fix it (previous dentist does not take Medicare). They did teeth cleaning and a deep cleaning for back teeth and x-rays. $5,000 dollars later that they billed Medicare and charged us $1300.00 out of pocket was excessive. read more

Pros: staff here are very kind and friendly. The office offers Saturday appointments once a month for busy patients. Cons: This office was painfully slow for service. A regular check up comprised of an x-ray and cleaning took over an hour and a half. Now my story.... just recently shifted to this dentist office and was excited to see that they offered Saturday appointments. Went down with my wife and scheduled ourselves back to back to be seen. Although one of the front desk assistants was really friendly the other did not really day much or offer to check us in, despite the other receptionist being preoccupied. After some time both my wife and I were able to check in for our appointment. My wife went in first for dental exam and cleaning at 9am no joke 10:35am and she is just returning. Mind you we have our daughter there with us and thankfully she was being an angel the entire time despite the wait. Now it was my turn to go in. I originally was going to be let in early for my appointment, however I had to wait for my wife to return before I could go in. Even though my wife came back at 10:35ish and my appointment was for 10:15, I didn't go begin service until about 10:50am. My exam started off a bit unorthodox. My dentist pulled me into a side office to discuss with me why I was there. I told him I just wanted to get a routine exam and cleaning and we hoped they would become our new office. He then insisted multiple times where there any health issues I was having or things I wanted to discuss with him. After that I went into getting my xray with what seemed to be a new employee because she was being coached on how to do her job. She was nice but it did have me a bit nervous. After my xray I went to the next office where my cleaning would take place, and this is where most the waiting began. I sat in that room for about 10 minuets before my doctor came in to discuss my xrays with me. After our very brief discussion he checked my mouth and my gums and then told me that they would begin my cleaning soon. 20 minuets later they finally come back in to do my cleaning. And unfortunately for me they left the new person by herself to begin the process. At that point I was just ready to get out of there but I was nervous the whole time. I think she did a good job overall. After she did the surface cleaning the doctor came back to perform the scrapping and more elaborate items. I would say don't have too much important things lined up in your day if you come here. I didn't leave until around 12:15pm and by then I was starving because we didn't eat before we went in for our cleaning out of courtesy. Currently we are contemplating on if we return because our entire day was thrown off. read more

This place is a total scam! They upsell you and then when you decline, they code the services you did authorize so your insurance doesn't cover it. I went in for a cleaning only. They wanted to charge me over $3200 of work that I know doesn't need to be done. Grove Dental Group was such a fun experience for a dental visit. It had been a few years since my last visit to a dentist and the team made it as smooth as possible. It started with a phone call to set up appointments for the whole family. They use an online site for your chart and allow you to pre-fill all paperwork to make your in person visit as efficient as possible. Once there, the staff were so friendly and the office so neat, clean and organized. The staff were very accommodating and friendly as I had to bring my two littles to the appointment. Dr. Won is great and is straight to the point with the evaluations and recommendations. He was presenting options for treatments without any pressure. Very reassuring. The hygienist Dulce was super friendly and did a fantastic job with no pain during a deep cleaning. Could not recommend a better team for your dental needs. Good dentists but worst dental office ever. I came in over a year ago because my retainers that I got here as a teen broke. They suggested I get Invisalign or another set of braces and I inquired about Invisalign. Supposedly they called my insurance company to confirm if Invisalign was covered and they came back and said it was (50% of the total cost). So I paid the deposit out of pocket and set up a payment for the remaining 50% which my insurance did not cover. A year later (a few months after finishing treatment), I get a voice mail saying that I had an overdue balance and if I didn't pay by the end of the month that they would send me to collections. I called and asked what had happened, and they said my claim was denied and that they tried to reached out multiple times. Sorry, but what? The office didn't mention anything the whole year I was going in for monthly visits? If they let me know it was denied, I would've just lived with a cracked retainer. Or I would've tacked the denied claim onto the monthly payments. Overall, really shady experience. I'd go somewhere else where they won't have to lie to get business if I were you. read more

This was my first time after closing them as my dentist after moving to Riverside county. I wound the office staff to be friendly, courteous and professional. When it came time for my appointment I was advised the dentist was running behind slightly. As far as the dentist and his team were concerned he was very. through and explained everything to me. Once a plan was decided upon t was implemented in a timely manner. The team was very concours of pain level and if the cleaning and other procedure was causing any discomfort which I found to be reassuring. I set my first appointment with this dental group, against my wife's better judgement. I set the appointment for a routine checkup and cleaning. They were all very nice and polite. But, after the X-rays a staff member put a list of things they said I "needed" that totaled over $3200.00 above what insurance would pay. I informed them they just gave me "financial shock." And, I just wanted a checkup and cleaning. Then, the person acted surprised I wanted a cleaning and said he thought all hygienists were gone. However he did "catch one@ going out the door. This review is for My Kids Dentist @ The Grove and Ortho. I started coming here in June because I moved to this area. I was a little hesitant due to some of the very negative reviews about deceptive sales practices and overcharges. However, I've always had pleasant dental experiences, so I was very hopeful. The first issue came right after my kids' first visit. I took my 3 sons to their routine check-up which includes all the basics- x-rays, cleaning, etc. And I was billed for the services which were suppos to be covered by my (PPO) insurance. When I contacted them, I was told that the doctor was not contracted with my insurance yet since it was a new office (even though I had double check with them on this before scheduling the appointments). But, Opal (who doesn't longer work there) told me to not worry about it. But then later, I was told I was responsible for the out of network fees even though they were in network. It was a mess and a lot of back and forth with them and my insurance. My insurance then sent me a check to make the payment. I paid the balance but then a couple months later I was billed again! After a lot of back and forth again with Opal (front desk), Corina (assistant manager) and Jamie (manager), I agreed to pay the new balance (which was still covered by the check the insurance had provided me so not a big deal). The office manager, at this time, printed a copy of my balance and I made the payment that same day. Guess what!? last week I got a new bill from this same visit; it was actually collections bill! While dealing with that, I had another issue with them. My son needed a couple fillings and a crown, and they quoted me over $1,000 for nitrous! I thought it was outrageous since I had just paid $110 for nitrous a couple weeks before that for my other son's oral surgery at a specialty oral & maxillofacial office. I ended up declining treatment and took my son somewhere else. Corina in the front desk, doesn't try to work with you. Her attitude is pretty much you want the service or not? Lastly, please ask for a proposed treatment plan and look at it closely specially for ortho. If your insurance covers part of it make sure they are billing you the correct amount per the insurance and not more. Also, before you sign the contract, double check with the doctor one more time that everything listed is still needed and getting done. I had a $500+ charge for an appliance that was no longer needed and I notice right before signing. Something I didn't notice until later was a charge for $160 listed as "Oral B Essential Kit" that is pretty much an electric toothbrush that you can get for $40 at Target. Even then, be aware that you might still get an unexpected bill even 6 months+ after treatment. I'm currently still waiting for the office manager to return my call about the $700 collections bill. read more

I needed a root canal and a crown done on one of my molars that was practically split in half. DR. Watanabe and Dr. Alkatib were absolutely amazing. I'm a grown man who still dreaded going to the Dentist, until these two got their hands on me. Dr. Watanabe is very easy going and has a way to just calm you down and remove any stress and/or fear you may be having. Dr. Alkatib was reassuring and made sure the area he was working on was numb enough for me to be comfortable, yet, be able to eat something soft after the procedure and not have it fall out of my overly numb mouth. I am just very happy I found this place. I can honestly say, I'm really looking forward to my next dental visit :) read more
