Today was my first real appointment with Gentle Dental. I made an appointment last month but there was an error in communication and my insurance was one they would be taking soon but weren't taking yet. They called me back yesterday and got me in today and I'm glad I decided to come back. Their staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I'm very sensitive about dental care because I've had really bad experiences and I came in today already knowing I have a lot of problems in my mouth but Dr David was so kind and professional it made the visit very easy. I never felt pressured, shamed, or embarrassed during my visit, which was really nice. I had two crowns that had come off and the teeth underneath had fractured so they needed to be removed. The abscesses were causing my pain. They were able to remove the teeth the same day, which was a huge relief, and the removal was waaaay less traumatic than the other extraction I have had. I barely felt the pressure from it at all. I will be coming back in a week to continue my treatment plan. I was really happy with my experience here and feel comfortable coming back. read more

I went to this dentist to get my fillings done ...2 weeks later I started feeling sensitivity in my teeth so I went back and they referred me to their endodontist and all she did was a cold test and told me that I need to have a root canal on 5 teeth. When I asked how was she able to know that without looking at a xray she said from the cold test...Then I asked why wouldn't the dentist say anything when he did my fillings wouldn't he have seen that on the xray and they told me no which is a lie. Then they told me for these root canals it will be 8k. This place is just a money dump. Then their corporate is calling me about a procedure that I owe money on but was currently paying on make it make sense. I will never refer anyone to this place... I'm 47 years old and over the past 20 years I've had six teeth pulled at several different dental offices, always without insurance, and I've never paid more than about $200 for an extraction. Now that I have full coverage insurance, I scheduled an appointment at Gentle Dental in Riverside (off Central) for a problematic tooth that needed to be pulled. When I arrived, they told me my co-pay would be $25. But once I was in the chair, they handed me a treatment plan that added up to nearly $1,000 out of pocket. This included $400-$775 for a tooth extraction and a mandatory $335 bone graft -- even though I made it very clear I have no plans for implants or future procedures. In all my years of dental visits, no other office has ever told me a bone graft was necessary just to remove a tooth. What made this worse was the timing. They waited until the very last minute to disclose these extra charges, after already telling me over the phone it was a simple 30-minute process. To me, this felt misleading and like they were trying to upsell unnecessary procedures rather than provide straightforward care. As a licensed plumbing contractor and business owner in Riverside for the past 25 years, I strongly value honesty and transparency. Unfortunately, I did not experience either at this office. I have been to this facility twice now for cleanings. I'll not lie- I still miss my old place. I felt more welcomed and appreciated there. But it was more of a family business and my dental staff retired. Gentle Dental is more about getting down to business in my opinion. I've heard the staff in other rooms making good effort with other clients. With me, they aren't much for getting to know the patient beyond cleaning the mouth and see me next time. But that's ok. I'll continue using Gentle Dental for my dental needs. The office is clean, the staff is professional, the front desk staff is over the top nice, and it's conveniently located. STEER CLEAR!!! 2.8 stars on Yelp is abysmal and very telling. Unfortunately we had no choice. ***Tldr: They have a useless call center that has zero knowledge of what goes on in the office, they are crazy rude, and will schedule you pretending they'll help with a DENTAL EMERGENCY (4 yr old baby broken tooth and cant eat), just to have you drive an hour for cleaning and xrays you already had done and sent them and be told they won't see you and can't help with that. When asked why they would do that to you be prepared to get berated.*** Don't even bother calling its a complete waste of your time. Unless you like to be fed bad information from a call center and then berated and belittled by office staff when it comes time for your appointment. We are experiencing a dental emergency (waiting for authorization for dental surgery which could take 4 weeks and a tooth broke) and found gentle dental because they are one of the only places that will treat our young four year old who broke her tooth. The call center assured me it wasn't just a cleaning and xrays because we did that elsewhere a month ago before moving and they said that's fine we can email them. I did. Come time for our appointment and get most of the way through our hour long drive just to be told by rude demeaning office staff that there's no oral surgeon and the regular dentist wouldn't do it. When I talked to the call center for hours they knew it was for an emergency procedure and we have all xrays and dental notes and that the dentist can do an extraction. She says well it wouldnt be covered it would be out of pocket. I said okay that's two issues now. Can't be done because there's no oral surgeon or the dentist might be able to do it but it's out of pocket? I said we are covered for emergency services that doesn't make sense. Why wouldn't it be covered. She's goes "hmm...ummmm....I don't know let me talk to the dentist". Comes back on the line and says the dentist won't see you guys, because he can't pull the tooth. I told them that I would be taking necessary action and leaving reviews and she starts to get snappy. I said it's not your fault it's not you it's the business you're working for. She responds "well you're yelling at me".......I can't express enough how normal, pleasant, and nonconfrontational my voice and candor was. I wish I had a recording because I can get heated on the phone and I specifically DIDNT. I told her im definitely not yelling. This is a normal speaking voice and I'm not cursing or saying anything untrue or out of line or directing anything at you just the office and will be making sure people know about this experience. I came to Gentle Dental about 5 or 6 years ago, because they were recommended to me by a friend. I am in my 50's and I am deathly afraid of the dentist. I have had numerous bad experiences. The staff here at gentle dental have been awesome. From the front desk to the dentist to the orthodontist. I have had 2 root canals a bridge installed that match my other teeth so well, you would never know it was fake. I had a tooth pulled and the gave me gas so I didn't feel it and I was comfortable. My children had their wisdom teeth pulled, and had an awesome experience. I had braces for 4 years because of Covid it set my plan back about a year. The team at Gentle Dental is awesome. I wouldn't go any place else. The thought of having to switch dentist scares me. If you are a big chicken like me, the Riverside Gentle Dental is the place to go. read more

Friendly employees but the work they done on me always broke and insurance wouldn't cover it. If you need crowns or bridges I wouldn't recommend them. I had 2 bridges break before the 5 year mark so the insurance doesn't cover it. Now I'm left with missing teeth and a broken bridge. read more

Dr. Saed and team are wonderful. Always professional always on time. Great service and very helpful with financing, scheduling, accommodations etc. The office is very clean and nice. They give excellent care - thorough cleanings, great recommendations and good healthcare products to maintain and improve your oral health. Most importantly I don't feel like I'm being 'sold' on anything. There is no selling pressure and they are pretty transparent when listing your options. My husband recently went to this location to have his wisdom teeth removed. The dentist was great, however, the receptionist was very unorganized. It took 4 phone calls to finally have his prescription sent to his pharmacy. This was after assuming it was sent the same day as he was told only to check and it not be there. i'm pretty sure i got scammed here. I go for my 6 month check up, and they tell me i have 6 cavities. How did i suddenly get 6 cavities in the span of 6 months when my diet is clean and i have no history of cavities? I don't even like the taste of anything sweet so i literally never have sugar. They wanted to charge me 750 of-course, i went to another dentist and they said i only have 1. they always try to push unnecessary expensive treatments on you too. another time one of the dentists recommended wisdom teeth removal so i schedule another appointment to make plans for that, then all of the sudden another doctor tells me it's unnecessary. I went to their office to get a deep cleaning before getting Invisalign treatment. Mayra was very welcoming when I walked into the door. Dr Lu answered all my questions and was very gentle when numbing me. He made sure I felt comfortable all throughout the procedure. I did not feel any pain at all. He also explained what areas I needed to work on to better my dental hygiene. His assistant Gilbert also made me feel very comfortable and informed me about after care. Horrible Practice! Do not go here! They told me my son had 5 cavities and would need major work to fill them, including putting him to sleep. Also tried to pressure me into giving him braces for a single tooth that was crooked. Also refused to clean my son's teeth, claiming that they would have to use their special expensive laser cleaner on him to deep clean his teeth. Of course none of this was covered by my insurance and they kept pressuring me to sign up on their payment plan. I took him to a different dentist who confirmed that he had ZERO cavities and that the "crooked" tooth that required braces was a BABY TOOTH! His teeth cleaning was done the normal way, didn't require any lasers. His teeth look great! Fist Bump... Great job Buddy... Keep it up... See you in 6 months. That's how a dentist should be, not trying to gouge people and cause additional unnecessary pain. Get a second opinion!!!! I called the office experiencing severe tooth pain. Not only was the person who scheduled me incredibly helpful in getting me in asap but the experience only got better. I felt incredibly safe as they took everyone's temperatures immediately upon entering. I was promptly escorted through the office to do the x-rays and the doctor explained very thoroughly what was going on. Dr. Saed was very professional and helpful explaining all the options I had.
