I cannot be happier to have chosen to have my first tattoo here, was worth the drive across the bridge for sure. I've had so many ideas for years, but have been waiting for something that clicked for me. I came across a post on IG and after delving deep into Rachel's page, one of her March flash just felt fitting. A butterfly is so simple and yes it can be basic, but to me - it symbolizes growth and a nod to a passed loved one. Rachel has a small, but very clean and comfortable studio. Being a Miffy fan for years, I loved seeing little Miffy stuff here n there. :) It was fun being able to share my love of trinkets and collectables with her too (also now I have another idea for a future tattoo!). There's plenty of street parking out front, I feel if there aren't any - a pass or two by, one will come up. The front door was locked when I arrived, but shot Rachel a quick text and she came right out. I was nervous for sure as it is my first tattoo, but Rachel reassured me and gave me a very good idea of what to expect. I chose my ankle and it was a 'spicy' spot... but it wasn't as bad I expected, even though I was being a baby about it for sure haha. I felt comfortable the entire time. The process was quick and got a few cute pictures myself too! I now am swirling with ideas for more, but later since I want to plan a little bit more first haha. I left with a mini care package of ointment as needed, but was told that a dry heal is preferred for this. My coworkers have been loving the red ink color and a few friends now are tempted themselves. Two at the same time for my first time?? I have been looking for a place to get a tiny heart done and Grow Inkk popped up on my IG feed. Rachel was amazing!! I have done my brows multiple times in the past with other artist who were pretty popular on instagram, so after many years I decided to come for a correction. Setting up an appointment was easy, she asked for photos and we quickly went back and forth on email. She also accommodated my schedule which was really short notice and I cannot tell you how much I appreciated that. Parking is really easy in that area and her salon is just adorable. You come in with your brows filled so she can get a good idea of what you want. She reviews the consents with you then takes some photos and she starts to map out your brows. She does one side and makes adjustments and once you approve it, she'll map out the other side. She made me feel really comfortable throughout the whole process. She goes through the outline without numbing cream, but the pain was barely there. Then she places the numbing cream and lets that sit for 15 minutes. Once she restarted, I fell asleep early on. The whole process took under 2 hours. I love my brows so much and it has only been a little over two weeks. Cannot wait to go get my touch up! read more
