My son went to Gina when he was a junior and my only regret was not going to her sooner. She helped my son pick out classes that met his interests and would be helpful on college applications. She also helped him pick out summer school classes that helped boost his g.p.a.. When it comes to application and essay time Gina and her team are a well-oiled machine. I received regular calls and emails to make sure we were on track and it was a huge relief to have someone else looking out for the deadlines and due dates. Milly is amazing!!! I remember that I was about to shed tears in her office the first day we met because I didn't think that I was going to get accepted into any colleges. Honestly, she helped me make my dreams into a reality. I am currently deciding between the University of Miami or Boston University. Don't waste your time and money with other college counselors, or advisors. I spent time and money with 2 others and they SUCKED! I didn't get accepted ANYWHERE! I promise that you will be happy with her work. Yes, she is a little spicy, but who doesn't love a little bit of spice on their plates? If you are more concerned about your child hearing F bombs than being successful, then you have major issues. It's not like your child doesn't have ONE explicit song on their brand new Iphone. When my son and I first met with Milly Rosen at Growing Minds, he was a mediocre, underperforming student at Santa Monica College, with no direction and really no prospects for getting into a decent 4 year college. After Milly took him under her wing, he graduated from Chapman University with a 3.72 GPA, he has had two papers published in scholarly publications and one of his class projects was included in Google Scholar. Best of all, Milly ignited his ambition and thirst for knowledge. He recently applied to several Master's programs, and so far he has been accepted to one of his top choices. I did my homework in-state and out-of-state and I thought I had chosen a good college counselor. I didn't what good looked like until I met the team at Growing Minds. They became our high school and college academic and extra-curricular coaches for my two teenage children. Thanks to GM, my daughter ended up being the first student to be admitted into Duke University from Agoura High School. The mentorship they provided my daughter during the college applications and selection process was essential for her to have had a successful and happy first year in college both academically and socially. GM's guidance was SPOT ON for her. My son started with GM much earlier than my daughter. We did not waste any time for him to get the maximum advantage of their advice and tutoring.
