Okay, at this point, including mine, there are NINETEEN 5 star reviews for Growl Movement. "Marketing scheme?" Always a possibility. "Planted friends?" Maybe. "Obamacare/Benghazi?" Almost certainly, depending upon your political party. But seriously. Look at the long time reviewers, and the people who go out of their way to find a good location. They love this place. And I've discovered I'm one of them. Stopped by today to get a couple of growlers to fuel my first outdoor grilling of the year. I ended up hanging out for about an hour. Their 30+ taps are filled with possibilities (including one non-alcoholic option), and come from local and regional microbreweries. Some do come from across the country, but all of them are independent retailers. The girl who assisted me was super helpful. Quick to point out all the quirks of each beer, and had a stack of little plastic cups on hand to provide free samples. I decided to go for a pint of what was called, lovely, "Beard Beer." Apparently using yeast started with original yeast from another Microbrew out of the meisterbrau's beard. How can you not go for that? Even better was the clientele that comes here. I got into a conversation about punk rock shows and beer samples with the guy next to me. The another guys came in, I heard them talking about that famous "Beard Beer," and I offered them a drink from my pint glass. All caution to the wind, they drank, and ended up ordering pints themselves. I felt like being back in my fraternity again, the environment was so warm and friendly. The beers are reasonably priced, for growlers and half-growlers, as well as pints and half-pints. The store itself is basically an outlet to provide other people's beers to the public. A middleman if you will, with their own mark-up, so they don't actually produce anything of their own, originally. So I would have given this four stars. But then something wonderful happened. As I was drinking my beard-y yeast-y beer, a guy came in and ordered a growler of IPA. When she handed it back to him, the server said, "It's almost full, but we ran out. So it's not quite to the top." I expected her to give him two or three bucks off the price. But then she goes on. "So it's totally free." Seriously, how is that for customer service? You order a growler and don't get the full allotment, they throw you everything they have left for free. That makes that person come back. And tell their friends to go there. And more so, makes you feel like you're more than just a wallet to them. They want you to enjoy the beer the provide and get what you're looking for, or else go home with a 9/10's full growler of beer for free. Amazing establishment, great service, and a nifty clientele. Definitely a winner in Keizer. read more

We recently bought a groupon for this place and decided to check it out. Upon walking in, I already knew this was a place I would come back with a few friends. There are sparse chairs and tables littering the walls with a small counter with some stools. But there is lots of beer which is what really counts right ? The owner I'm assuming was behind the counter and took us through the process. Lets start off with this, the beer is priced well. And the beers they do have are all beers I would actually think about drinking unlike ventis' disheveled list. The owner was great. He knew and described all the beers and let us taste any kind we wanted. We left with a full growler and a medium sized growlette. I forgot to review Growl Movement?!?!?! Nooooo!!!!! For those of you living in another universe, a growler is a half-gallon glass jug filled with your choice of beer straight from the tap. Think of it like a bar where you can take home your favorite drink. This is not really a 'hang out' place so much, but I suppose you can hang out since there's a little bar area. The employee (owner?) seemed like a guy you might be able to spend 20 minutes with. Very nice beer selection. I love this place! How simple can you get. Its a one-stop shop for great libations. You go in and they have 2 screens full of beers on tap (25ish?) and khombucha for those who like that. The taps rotate as the kegs blow and there are always some great choices for you to expand your brew-cabulary (yes, I just made that word up! Dont judge me!) Nice guys... nice decor, and they have the awesome stainless-steel vacuum growlers that are very cool! Great place! read more

Stopped by the Keizer location when we were in the area a few weeks ago. There were two other people drinking at the bar. We'd never been in and weren't sure exactly what we were to do. The girl behind the counter was not very customer service oriented. She didn't offered any details on how to order, what they were serving, offering a sample or even any type of welcome when we walked in. While the number of beers on tap at one place is impressive, we tasted quite a few and quite honestly I had higher expectations for selection of both beer and hard cider. We both ordered a pint each and and then left. I didn't even finish my cider because it just didn't taste right. Hopefully it was an off night but I highly doubt I'll return again with so many tap houses popping up around town. Growl Movement just didn't "move" me. read more

Have been here a few times and can say it is a great place to get a beer, if you don't have a problem with small places. It is tiny, but it adds to the experience. The small venue lends its self to conversations with the other customers, which is cool. Every staff member is very knowledgeable about all styles of beer and are helpful in finding what you'll like. Come check them out to try beers you might not see in the area. It's a great way to get you motivated to go on road trips to area breweries! read more

The beer selection is good and reasonably priced, but they allowed a disgusting smelling dogs in their establishment that smells like it rolled around in its own feces. I'm sorry, but foul smelling pets shouldn't be allowed inside businesses that serve food. I was going to stay around for a bit and try some of their new stock, but I couldn't handle the stench of dog for longer than 10 minutes. read more

This place is fantastic. I'd never really heard of a growler store before reading a newspaper in the Keizer Times about Growl Movement. I went and was greeted by friendly employees who were eager to serve me. They have TV screens above that show all the different beers being served. You can sample any beer before buying a whole growler full of it. Beer menus are also posted on their website. They are always rotating out the taps with different beers. These are beers you typically won't be finding in your grocery store. Also kegged beer is generally fresher and better tasting than bottled beer. My only complaint is the store is a little small now that it's gotten so popular. Still for a grab and go growler store it's the best around. read more

I just have to reiterate what great people the workers are here. I came and filled up today on my run to the hardware store. After forgetting that I had it propped up against the passenger door, I opened it up and...crash. Beer and growlette everywhere. When I went back to get a new growlette and refill, I told them about my stupidity and when I went to pay they just shook their heads an told me I had it rough enough already and I didn't need to repay. 32 taps, 32 brews, 32 ways to enjoy your favorite or new favorite brew. I was excited when Growl Movement opened in March, but I never got there. Today I finally made the trip and was blown away. My partner and I tried their 5 brew taster tray and several other brews on tap. We went away with two growlers and and growlette! This is the best thing to happen to micro brews since the keg! The brews are constantly changing so be sure to stop back often. I'm a fan for the brews and because they use Square! I love Square! read more

What else can you say about Growl Movement other than it's like Baskin Robins but instead of ice cream you get beer. I have been in several times since it opened and they are always friendly. Their beer selection is always changing so if you find something you like make sure to get a growler full before it's gone. All the beer is priced very well and their taplist are always up to date. No matter if you are an IPA fan or a fan of a nice dark stout they have something you will love there. read more

It's fun trying out different microbrews from around the northwest, 64 ounces at a time. Growlers make microbrews better for some reason, rather than the normal bottled/canned stuff at the supermarket. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. read more

My husband and I just discovered this place and it is GREAT! Huge selection (30+) regional beers and a few ciders which I appreciate. The staff is knowledgeable and very pleasant. On our first visit in I decided what cider I wanted and the keg ran out only filling up half my growlette which we were about to purchase! So they gave us the growlette and about 20oz of cider for free. Excellent customer service and overall ambiance. read more
