A true gem in the Independence area, and a travesty that I don't live closer. Jason of Divine Distillers and Victor the Exec Chef of The Inferno are both wizards of their crafts, and make an *excellent* pairing. Everything I tasted was stunning, from the expertly smoked meats to the innovative craft cocktails and spirits. They also make sure to have some top notch beers and ciders on tap at all times, and host live music regularly with no cover. The servers were all wonderful, and I look forward to getting back down there again to treat myself. 11/10 would recommend, don't sleep on this place. But you might need to sleep after visiting this place. read more

This review is for the latest/most recent opening of Divine Distillers and the awesome Inferno Kitchen that accompanies it! Sadly we never made it to the original location (we live in Salem) but the new restaurant & bar is absolutely fantastic and a place worth driving for. We finally decided to come by and do trivia with Aaron (Oregon Trivia Company) and were so glad we did--Aaron has been one of our favorite hosts around Salem for many years now and when he said he was starting to do shows at Divine Distillers on Thursday nights (ya'll need to come have fun with us! :) we knew we'd be there. As usual, it didn't disappoint--just the right amount of challenging/fun questions, great hosting & an enjoyable way to break up the work week! The space is quite large with plenty of seating for groups and they're working on putting in a beer garden with fire pits--looks like it'll be a super fun place to meet up with friends & hang out this summer. It's usually pretty chill there on a weeknight so it's easy to relax and take your time. The drink menu is very creative & fun with everything from beer to cocktails to ciders, all featuring pours made right in-house by the talented staff. Check out one of their flights to get a taste of multiple sips & pick your new favorite! Also, the food here BLOWS US AWAY. Seriously some of the best food we've had in a very long time. I personally can't stop dreaming about the Tri-Tip (cooked to tender, juicy perfection & topped with chimichurri), the Elotes with Pulled Pork (rich, smoky & creamy), the House Burger (simple yet spectacular) or the Shrimp Fajitas (a delicious pile of tasty fixings that made me very happy). We were told the chef is a BBQ master and it shows--can't wait to try everything else on the menu soon! Other Bonuses: Ample, easy parking in a private lot, super friendly & approachable staff and clean & comfortable restaurant with lots of space & more expansions/improvements in the works! Plus, you can buy bottles of their spirits to go. If you were a fan of Divine Distillers before or have just been driving by wondering about this place, do yourself a favor & check it out. Food was amazing, definitely try the lamb tacos! Cooked outside over open flame. Staff is great but be careful, if you tease they tease right back, perfect. The different spirits were really fun as well. We met Jason the owner and heard his story, so unique and an amazing individual. Definitely try it. We will be making this one of our regular spots. It is a very relaxed atmosphere, come as you are and enjoy! Oh and we did the tour and tasting as well, definitely worth calling ahead and seeing when that is available. Go and enjoy! read more

Jason distills a wide range of unique liquors, brandies, and liquers, and brews amazing beers and ciders. They also have a wide range of guest taps. Victor smokes and wood-fire grills delectable meats, which you can buy by the pound, or enjoy in western and Latino classic recipes. The also have vegan and pescatarian options. Dog-friendly, casual, comfortable and reasonably priced place to relax, eat, and drink, indoors or out! Divine Distillers is a gem! The owners are incredibly friendly and make you feel right at home. The staff are also wonderful--attentive and knowledgeable. The ambiance is beautiful and welcoming. I had the pulled pork sandwich with their esquite corn, and it was amazing! The drinks truly live up to the "divine" name. Went for the first time after seeing it for years everyday driving to work. Extremely unassuming warehouse exterior that we had to search for the entrance in the back. (not an issue....we were rookies) The interior was nicely done and clean. The bearded dude on duty that night was not too knowledgeable about his products he sold, but he got a pass because he had just recently been hired. (It takes time to get the finer points of distilling that you can relate to the customers...especially when asked questions by someone like myself who has an extensive background in brewing and distilling). He was a super nice guy who worked his tail off to provide good customer service. Good hire guys! Overall, we were worried at first that the menu might be under-whelming but the food we ordered was quite excellent. We both had burgers and they were some mighty fine burgers. Smoked meat in them and then cooked over a mesquite fire. Fries and corn-based Esquite was awesome. The only bone I had to pick was the Caesar salad had tomatoes on it. Caesar salads don't have copious amounts of tomatoes. They have zero. (luckily my wife ate all the tomatoes...I don't care for them)The Caesar dressing also needed a little work. Not enough anchovy taste in it. The distilled liquor was pretty top flight. Wife had a mimosa flight -marionberry rocked immediately. Strawberry improved 100% when it warmed. Mango should have used sweeter Asian mangos instead of the cheaper Mexican ones it tasted like. the Orange was pretty good. My flight was and apple brandy that was good. A pear brandy that needed work. A classic rum. An heirloom agave-based offering that was pretty smooth and good. Amaro paradisio was superior-organic blueish-purple color-herbed nicely. World class Amaro. I will go back to try the other amaros. I also had a taste of the aged whisky and though I normally do not like whisky (scotch guy who had issues with whisky when he was just starting out), this was pretty good and smooth with lots of hints of vanilla. For a whisky hater, it was not bad at all. Lots of complexity and obviously well-done. Now do a scotch. Import some peat. get some seaweed to dry your malt from the coast. Some sherry and french white oak cask. I would be in heaven. I would totally go back and will take my kid this time for the burgers and other smoked meats (briscuit, flank steak, pulled pork etc.). We took the distillery tour, had several tastes and then dinner. It was Monday burger night so one in our group had a classic cheese burger and another had the PBLT burger (smash burger with pork belly) an ample fries. Both were great! One had the pulled pork sandwich which disappeared quickly so the assumption is that it was good. I had the special of Camarones Mexicano. 6 large scrimp in a mildly spicy sauce with light rice and excellent beans. Very good. Not a fancy place but nice with outdoor options and a friendly staff. We will be back and will bring friends! read more

I helped organize a gathering of around 40 people at Divine Distillers last week, and the experience left me feeling very impressed! The ambiance, the food, and the service were all excellent. Even when the orders were stacking up, the food and drinks continued to be brought out with a smile. And everything from both the bar and the Inferno Kitchen was delicious. Have seen Divine Distillers whenever I pop into Vagabond Brewing but my beer drinking has not quite lined up with their hours until recently. The owners were both great at explaining the selections they had and pouring us a few samples that they figured out we would enjoy. I really liked their seasonal varieties that matched the character of each change in the season. Brought home a few bottlers and will be sure to return. So great to see a fantastic distiller added to Salem's beer, cider, and wine scene. read more

DD is superb! A group of folks gathered to celebrate, and DD came through with fabulous beverages (took home a bottle of DD gin), and the food - while a bit slow due to the group descending all at once - was absolutely delish! DD staff are warm, welcoming and friendly, and owners are the salt of our Earth. Highly recommend for both onsite dining, and take-home distilled spirits! I believe (not sure) that outdoor dining will likely be available and would be a great place for summertime foodie adventures. read more

After several weeks of indecision on stopping here, a group of four of us made our way in to Divine Distillers. We were greeted by the owner, Jason, and were immediately settled in for a diverse, lengthy, and delicious tasting of nearly everything they had to offer. The spirits were delicious - each, seemingly, with their own accompanying cocktail, but even more amazing than the alcohol was the service. Jason went above and beyond to let each of us taste everything that caught our eye, stopping in between to mix some tastes of unique cocktails and talk about each one. This was a great way to spend an afternoon; tasting some very unique spirits with a proud owner who is happy to let others enjoy his creations. PS: Try the pandan rum! Went in for a tour and got to see the entire set up. Alot of care and thought is evident in their process and it certainly reflects in the final product. The flavors were amazing; the apple brandy was delicious, you could taste the agave in the tequilas and the rums had a nice rich taste to them. The owner, Jason, was a very accommodating host and good taste in spirits. Overall pleasant place with many precious fruits I will eagerly go searching for. read more

In a growing field of craft distilleries, this one stands out! Eau De Vie's, Agave spirits, Rums and the Italian specialties Amaro were all complex and exceptionally good! I like moonshine and whisky, but Divine was an outstanding change of pace, and if you are a fan of the Italian Aperitif/ Digestive bitters such as Campari, Fernet Branca, Cynar, etc you should give these folks a try.......the Eau De Vies were in Pear, Blackberry, Blueberry, several others I've forgotten with several variations on each basic fruit, and the Amaro's were in at least 3 seasonal variations! Almost 100% of their ingredients were sourced from less than 30 miles distant. The young lady in the tasting room was extraordinarily well versed on the spirits! read more

We were heading to Vagabond, saw Divine Distillers was open and popped in....and so glad we did! We had a great time chatting with the owner/distiller and sampled a bunch of different things. We just hosted my co-workers retirement party at Divine Distillers. The rum is out of this world. The owner and workers are top shelf all the way. The perfect venue for our merry band.
