I've reported this scam company to the BBB. You should also. This is a scam company. They respond to my credit card company when I dispute their charges, but they will not respond to me directly. This is a very dishonest business for any new start up, M&A, business plans and analysis. The team is disorganized and never showed up to all the meetings the company engaged in. They had people missing appointments for the heft cost of doing business with them. The company is non-responsive bad doesn't deliver on what you order. I have emailed more than 10 times and called twice and have not received one response. In finally reported it to my credit card company and they responded that they had sent the information to me so my claim was false. Why wouldn't they just have responded to the 10 other emails to resend the report I hadn't received. Still haven't received my reports or a response to my emails. read more

I used Growthink for a business plan last year. I found them to be very professional and easy to work with. Recently I asked them to review my plan and they were super cool about helping me out at no additional charge. They even answered a lot of questions for me about an investor who was interested in my company (turns out he wasn't the real deal; so glad Growthink told me to avoid him). And then I secured a bank loan on great terms. All thanks to Growthink. I read some of the other reviews. I guess someone could be unhappy with Growthink. But they were great to me. Growthink did not provide anything of what was promised or implied in their popup marketing videos. On February 11th we were in a crunch to develop an immediate business plan and white sheet for our associates in a commercial real estate deal we had going down that night. I conducted a google search for Immediate Business Plan....and Growthink came up. They had testimonial it could be accomplished "in a few hours" for 72$....Perfect for what we needed, right?? ... Not so fast.... What happened next is beyond a scam, it should be criminal!!! I purchased the 72$ Ultimate Business Plan template. ......As soon as I clicked the mouse, Dave Lavinsky, I guess their lead man...immediately popped up in a video for what appeared to be necessary portions to get the "Ultimate" 72$ job done right!!! A second purchase for what I believed was necessary to get an immediate result "in a few hours" was made...and again as soon as I clicked a third video popped up.... In ten minutes time I paid $666.00 to the company, (cool number, right??) and never received our 72$ business plan. What we instead received was a college curriculum of document study you could find for free elsewhere on line, in a book at a library, or at your local university. Its hoax, a scam, and do not fall for it like I did....I filed a complaint at the BBB, and unless I get an immediate refund I will take it to a whole new level.... This program is a scam.....they do not build a plan template for you at all....as their template may never come, as ours never did...because a second person contacts you back with a very limited questionaire that our business did not exactly fit in....so we answered the questions best we could with explanations. All we received was 7 more daily emails from dave Lavinsky asking for more money for more offers of bogus things I absolutely had no interest in... for a successful business... I emailed Dave Lavinsky 3 times in response, which he ignored...First Email I told him I did not need a college curriculum..and to stop with the spam emails for more money... Second Email I told him to stop with the spam emails.... 3rd email when I received a spam for "final offer" I wrote him back and told him i was going to do this....file complaints.... never heard back from him or anyone over there.... can you imagine how much money they are making over their from dumb guys like me who got suckered in less than 10 minutes!!!......All i needed was a fast template, on the 11th of february!!!....it never came!!!!!.... be wary of these guys, big time.... NEW DEVELOPMENT!!! They had the nerve this morning to write me a brushoff email!!!.... That they sent me what I ordered???? They sent me a college curriculum I did not order...I ordered a Business Plan Template...they called the Ultimate Business Plan template... for 72$ that quickly turned into $666.00...in under 10 minutes..... If i had a month of nothing to do but read their curriculum and build a plan from scratch, like they suggest in their email this morning in response to my complaint, then it still is nort as advertised, a scam and a fraud!! read more

I've been on the Growthink email list since there were less than 500 members... so since the early days! Growthink is one of the very few companies I have followed that has consistently given good information in a timely manner. I've appreciated Dave's thoughtfulness, humor, excitement, mentoring and insights through the years. As a first time entrepreneur I cannot describe how upsetting it has been to deal with this company. Although I felt their prices were at the very high end. I was prepared to pay the $17,500 they asked for because I imagined that the plan would be amazing. The opposite happened. It was awful. When I tried to get it fixed they removed the plan and everything else from basecamp. They said they were preparing for litigation. Six months later I have no plan, no refund and rude emails from senior members with sexist comments. My suggestion to all women founders out there is to deal with a company who cares about us. Growthink Evaluation December 2012 CONSUMERS BEWARE! Growthink Investment Consultants is a SCAM!!! In September 2011, my partners and I hired the West Coast office of Growthink to function in an investment banking capacity, for the purpose of raising 16 million for a theatrically-based start-up business in New York City. Following three primary meetings, president Jay Turo, and other members of their team, assured us that this was their forte... that they possessed an incredible list and backlog of successful high-end investors that they dealt with... and that, based on the merits of our business plan and projections, there would be "no trouble" raising the money in a very short period of time. None of our team is naïve, but they talked such a great deal, we agreed that they should be given the opportunity to accomplish this goal. Their "opportunity" however, came with a 6 month/$50,000 price tag... and even though we balked at paying upfront with no guarantee of success, they refused to move forward without that money in their pocket. Again, we met and were assured that our money would be recouped in no time because of their strong ties to the business world. We paid them and anxiously awaited their plan to come to fruition. They insisted that a new "business package" be established. However, the promotional video, business projections, market study and investor packages that "they" generated were 80-90% our own original material, which was simply condensed by Growthink. They then generated a list of "potential investors," most of which they admitted they never had any relationships with... so they were basically "cold-calling" them, hoping to get a response, which never happened. They asked one of our partners to generate his own list of investors, which turned out to be the only meetings that ever took place. To make matters worse, Jay Turo attended two of these meetings, literally saying nothing and failing to even carry business cards, coming across as unbelievably un-professional. In both of those meetings, the investors asked... "Who was this guy who sat here in silence and didn't have cards?" Trust me, this isn't a good way to attract potential partners. They then came up with a plan of having "Friday afternoon conference calls" which was supposed to keep our partners abreast of their progress. But after three of these calls, where they simply re-iterated what their plans in the future "might be," we decided to opt for less conference calls and more action... to which we got no response. Worst of all, Growthink claimed to have an active branch office for raising funds in New York... our target city. We gave them seven weeks (SEVEN WEEKS) notice that the partners would be in New York and that this was a critical time for rallying any sort of investor interest. They failed to arrange even ONE MEETING, except with one of their OWN EMPLOYEES... and he wasn't even familiar with our sales package. The most ludicrous response we ever got in a meeting was when we asked Growthink's employee who he thought we should be going out to and his response was ... "Gee, I don't know... I'll have to think about that." In seven months (SEVEN MONTHS!) they didn't arrange ONE MEETING, yet sat back and took our money with no hesitation. In the last month of their employment with us, we were completely unable to get our "contact person" to respond to any Emails or phone calls... and then found out that this person had left the firm... without even so much as a call to inform us of this change of status. When we informed them that they were being terminated, rather than argue their merits to stay on, they simply blew us off with a "good luck... it's a great project." Our belief is that Growthink scammed us... lead us down a rose-colored path with no intention or wherewithal to pull off what they said they could. They were, in our opinion, imbedded in fraud... and we can only hope to help other investors by warning them to stay as far away from this company as possible. read more
