Our 76-year-old house needed significant structural repairs this year. Among them, the super old siding needed to be replaced besides painting after large-scale stucco repairs all around the house. After getting multiple estimates from several painting companies, we choose Gruber Painting to paint the interior of our house. When Alberto came out for the estimate, I could tell that this company was the right one based on the information he provided (details of what they would do), his knowledge about what type and sheen of paint that is normally used in different rooms, and his professional opinion on paint colors that may look good in my house. The Gruber Painting crew showed up on the day and time promised and spent a full 5-days doing the painting. When preping the house, because we had furniture which required them to move and ceiling fans in different rooms, they took all the normal precautions and covered the carpets with paper, and draped plastic over all furniture, including the ceiling fans. Because we have one indoor cat that never goes outdoors and was required to stay in the house while they painted - the Gruber Painting crew graciously worked around our request to paint one of our bedrooms last where we had the cat staying. Overall, the Gruber Painting crew did an excellent job in painting the inside of our house, we are pleased and very happy. The prep work was so thorough, and they even sanded the undereaves to remove all peeling paint. Gruber just finished painting the exterior of my home. I am very happy! I highly recommend this company for any painting projects. They also were very reasonably priced. Jose was the guy onsite for the whole project, prep and paint. He is a joy! He hand rolled the entire house, no spraying! He did it all without taping edges! By hand he perfectly cut the trims. Crazy perfect. He cleaned up every day, left no trace of himself anywhere. And did I mention, he is so sweet! Perfect job, perfect staff! My only nit would be the carpenters they subcontracted out to were not near as good. Made a huge mess everywhere they went. Work was marginally acceptable. They just finished our house exterior paint job, and we're very happy with the results. I got several quotes before we started our project. Will, the rep from Gruber, responded quickly and made time to come out and review the project ahead of time. He was professional and knowledgeable, and he asked all the right questions. He brought up several things that I hadn't considered ahead of time, so that helped. Will's experience in the paint industry was obvious. Aside from the actual work that was done, the most valuable aspect to me was Will keeping in touch with me and updating me along the way. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE!! Called in for an estimate. Alberto came in, took a walk around the house and came up with an estimate and showed it to us on his iPad. He said he will email me a link which will have all the details including the quote and if we decide to go forward with their service then have to hit accept on the link. That's it, that's all the progress we had with this company. Called him few days later, left a voicemail and NO RESPONSE!!! It's their loss!! I had a horrible experience with a Gruber Painting! Peter the estimator came out and told me they had carpenters I could fix some of the dry rot that I had. It was written in the contract but the Carpenter never came out all I did was spackle the cracks and paint over it.I asked them several times to send the Carpenter but they kept saying they'll come tomorrow and I kept going on until the job is over. These guys are horrible at communication I definitely would not recommend them for the price they charge find someone who actually cares about you as a customer. read more

We hired Gruber to stain or new fence. For both days of the processes Gruber showed up at the time they quoted. The cleaning team did a great job of getting water stains off the fence and was careful to not damage any plants. On day 2, Walter and Sandra arrived on time and began a lengthy preparation. This involved masking, cement shields, dirt shields to prevent dirt from blowing up into the clean fence. Walter and Sandra went the extra mile to cover bushes and plants to prevent the oil based stain from settling on them and possible killing them. The process is a spray application and in consideration of the neighbors this team even attached a plastic tarp to the top of the fence. This stopped the majority of overspray from entering the yard behind. Gruber with Walter and Sandra are highly recommended! read more

Let me start off this review with the word *WOW*!!!! My experience started off with using YELP to find a quality exterior painting company. I found Gruber Painting, a company with reviews that were very positive and 5 STARS. It was very important for me to find a high-quality/high value painting company as I had just invested in a new roof and wanted to make sure that the house paint would be just as impressive. Peter came by to do the quote, and I feel that I received a very fair quote for the job that needed to get done. Alberto was the lead painter and it was clear that he wanted the customer to be happy -- He told me that's what Joel Gruber and Peter always expected of their team. Well, the Gruber team FAR EXCEEDED MY expectations! But wait, there's more: My side garage door was an old wooden door, full of cracks and in need of a replacement (It was in need of a replacement 5 years ago!). To my pleasant surprise, Peter informed me that Gruber Painting also has a contractors license to do door replacement/installs. I decided to get the exterior painting done first, and then have the door replaced. Enter Randy and Aaron. These guys did a fantastic job replacing the door. The door is SO VERY SMOOTH in opening, closing and securing the dead bolt. OK, one more shout out here. A GREAT shout out to Erik -- Yet another AWESOME Gruber team member. Erik's responsibility was to prep and paint the door. There are painters who don't care and will just paint over your hinges and leave the door knobs sloppy. Well, NOT Gruber Painting! Erik was meticulous and took the time to prep the door painting and remove all the hardware to ensure that the paint covered the entire door. After further inspection of the door, Erik decided that the primer that was pre-painted by the door manufacturer was just not up to his standards. Erik decided to sand the door and apply more primer to the door!! He told me that he wanted me to be happy with the new door -- Not just today, but in the future as well. They showed up and gave us a very competitive estimate. We wound up going with them to paint our home exterior and they did a fantastic job. Peter did a wonderful walk-through and estimate. He's professional, accurate, asked all the right questions and made me feel very comfortable that his team would do exceptional work. I interviewed several painters and there was no comparison- Peter was by far the best estimator. The painting team of Miguel and Leni were fantastic. The quality of their work is truly nearly perfect. In addition to the very high quality of their work, they were completely unphased that we had to have the movers overlap their painting on the second day. You couldn't ask for a more professional, or nicer team. They also did lots of extras; removing hardware in the walls, taking down old curtain rods and drapes, patching and priming damaged areas, and generally making everything look like new.
