Location is amazing. Lots of views of the bay. Restaurant is clean and service is efficient. Order when you walk in and find a table to sit. I would give the food a 6/10. It was hit and miss on some dishes. Beautiful presentation. Fried fish was a little overcooked and stuffed flounder was lacking seasoning for my taste. It was an enjoyable experience all in all

Food was very good, service was good, very crowded but no wait for seating. Location was great, nice view of boats coming in and out, the restaurant was light and airy, very clean. Serve yourself condiment area was clean and had all we need.

It's hard to be mad about the no reservations policy, or the wait, when the food and atmosphere make up for it. Ee walked up early Saturday evening not knowing if the long line trailing down the front steps was a wait for those to get their names down or were waiting to be seated. Luckily a group ahead of us explained that you order your food at the counter then find your seats. There were 6 of us in our group and easily found seating outside. There were groups of people of all sizes and ages and still, Grumbles held every group easily. We had the fried fish tacos, shrimp skewers, burger, crab cakes and tuna bowl. After sharing with one another, our faves were the shrimp plates- though all were great! If you're looking for a family friendly place with fantastic views of the bay side- this is the perfect spot. We even got to see fish boats come in and hang their catches while we waited in line. Beautiful and perfect way to end our beach day.

The location is beautiful. Service is good but you order at the counter, sit, and the food is brought to your table, so there is no table service. It's casual dining with a great view. The food is okay. The fried shrimp was chewy and a bit over cooked. The fried fish was okay. The crab cake was salty. The ceviche was fresh and very limey, the fish inside was a bit over cooked, it was tough. The keylime pie did not taste like keylime. It had a tiny hint of lime. Overall, it's just okay. The food is a 2/5 but the location, price, and service gains another star.

Grumbles Seafood is a solid choice if you're craving classic coastal flavors while in Port A. Everything they cook is caught in the Gulf of Mexico. They have a waterfront location with a great view of the water. You place your food order at the counter and then it is delivered to your table once prepared. I ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer crusted with corn meal and served with ranch dressing. The fried green tomatoes were perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, and seasoned just right, comfort food at its best. I also tried the bacon-wrapped shrimp special with a teriyaki sauce. The bacon-wrapped shrimp were juicy shrimp with smoky, crispy bacon with a sauce that didn't overpower the seafood. I also enjoy the shrimp tacos with an option of blackened or fried shrimp, I usually get blackened, served in tortillas with slaw and avocado. It is normally served with a side of rice and black beans, but I substitute it for a side garden salad with ranch. Everything came out hot and well-prepared. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed, and the service was friendly and attentive. If you're looking for good seafood and Southern-style favorites in a laid-back setting, Grumbles Seafood is definitely worth the visit.

Seafood restaurant right at the Fishermans wharf in Port Aransas. Service is really quick you line up and then order they give you a number then you pick a seat. There is also outdoor seating. The ambience feels like it's a beach themed/fishing restaurant. Highly recommend coming here for lunch or dinner if it's your first time in Port Aransas or even if you visit frequently.

My tuna bowl was delicious and service/view were outstanding. My niece said it was the best meal she had in Port Aransas-she ordered the blackened chicken. Definitely a must try if you are in town!

Fried grouper fish how do you ruin it ? Freeze it first- this will destroy the cellular make-up of the meat.

3 stars for the ascetics of the space -quick good customer service- prompt delivery of food. But no stars for the food. Such a let down. Mush fried fish - along side the "famous" raw filled hush puppies & plain under seasoned coleslaw - as well as the very unfortunate not ready to eat green tomato slices. I had the idea to add the tomato dipping sauce to the coleslaw. It helped. There's only one reason the food is not as good as the nice space. Money in the front - no money in the back. I really wanted to like this place but all I can do is "grumble."

The shrimp bowl was very tasty! My husband had a shrimp and fish platter and said it was just okay. We liked getting our own drink refills. The building was very pretty.

We came and had grumbles for dinner on a Tuesday night. The atmosphere was great and we got to choose our own table to sit. We sat outside and to see the dock. I ordered the Port A shrimp bowl with tasted fantastic. I definitely recommend. mMy friend ordered the Crab Stuffed Flounder with coleslaw and rice and she wasn't impressed. The flounder didn't have flavor and the coleslaw was dry. We orders some crabs and corn hushed puppies that were okay. She had a regular margarita and I had a piña colada . Overall it was okay but not something we would agai

Location is stunning! We got lucky and ordered with no line but the place does get busy. Located in the wharf you can see boats docking and taking off.We ordered the fried seafood plate. Great variety but all of it was over cooked. It has potential the shrimp were large the fish was flakey but all of it overdone.

We came inside and immediately were greeted by waitstaff, and sat at a table. Then, after taking our drink orders and bringing it out, our two year old quickly waged battle with his mother's big, tall cup of sprite, throwing it across the table and it landing across his grandmother and the floor and table. The waiter was the sweetest, kindest and most understanding waiter I've ever met, and quickly took care of it, sat us at another table, and we continued with the evening. Our food was absolutely delicious. We had: Children's Mac & cheese, side of pulled pork, fries. Sausage plate with broccoli, and Brussels sprouts. A beef burger that was made with quite a few customizations and fries. Friend shrimp plate with fries. The food was absolutely fresh, hot and amazing!!! We immediately told our waiter (from Jamaica?) how happy we were and tipped him very well, and we will be back! I recommend this to anyone that wants good, hearty food, with a laid-back atmosphere on the island!

What we didn't think about was it being a weekday and closing times, we just goofed! So anyway once we realized the restaurant closed at 8:00pm according to Google we got a little worried, being that I work in a restaurant I know how overwhelming it can be to see customers coming in less than an hour until close, fortunately my hubs double checked here on Yelp and then their website and found the closing time was 8:30pm, so we hopped in the car and got there as soon as we could, and we were relieved to see a few people still eating, and another arriving just after we pulled in. There was a little curfuffle once we were sat, the hostess initially offered us a table with bench seating, but one of us isn't able to sit on a bench due to disability, she kindly offered us a table with chairs, in what appeared to be a different servers section, we were close to the TV on the same wall as the front counter, anyway, after sitting a few minutes Johnathan greeted us and took our drink orders to get us started. The ambiance is so relaxed, there was trivia on a couple of the TV's good music, and lots of cool merch to buy, some of the shirts really made me laugh. We quickly made our selections, hubs got the one meat and two sides and opted for the pork ribs, they were cooked to perfection, and he was delighted considering that we were there the last hour of the day, he really enjoyed his meal, I too opted for the one meat and two sides, selecting the regular sausage, and it was delicious. The highlight was Johnathan, he was friendly, made recommendations, and offered dessert, which we couldn't resist, deciding on the German Chocolate cake, with a side of ice cream. We had to take that to go, we couldn't eat another bite. They have two choices for BBQ sauce, hubs got spicy, and I got regular, and I am glad cuz I'm a yellow bellied tender foot, I tasted the spicy and it IS spicy so for all of you that enjoy the heat, I think you will like their, tomato forward sauce. I usually like to dip each bite of my sausage in BBQ sauce, this particular flavor was just different, I think I will have to try it again, it wasn't typical Texas-esque smoky BBQ sauce, more like ketchup as the base and then flavors and spices added to make it their own, we did find it slightly odd that BBQ sauce doesn't automatically come with the meals, we had to ask for it, but one of the things I REALLY like about MacDaddy's layout is it's a TRUE sit down restaurant with servers vs going thru a cafeteria style line to get our food, ironically as we drove down and talked about wanting to find a BBQ spot, and in that conversation I mentioned that I'd love to find one that's not self serve, being that one of us is disabled it can add a lot of extra work for the other, we come down twice a year if possible and have been doing so for at least 10 years, and had never found a dedicated BBQ place, we have now, the food was good, the service was friendly and the vibe was casual and relaxing, we will definitely be back!

We needed to hit the grocery store for a few supplies and wanted to eat seafood somewhere. I remembered eating at this restaurant years ago, but after talking to our lovely waitress, Tammy, I learned that this was a different building. They moved when the CVS came to town and wanted to build on the former location. To be honest, this is a much more comfortable venue. The old one, with its stairs winding around the edge of the dome, felt a bit like a firetrap. The food here is wonderful. I have never been disappointed. This time, they had a special with red fish topped with tomatoes, shrimp, mushrooms, and a delicious "made to order" blue cheese sauce over angel hair pasta. It came with either a side salad or a bowl of gumbo. My son and I both opted for the special with the gumbo, although his fish was grilled, and mine was blackened. The gumbo was packed with strong flavors of sausage, ham, and shrimp. The seasoning was perfect. We both loved it. As for the redfish special... I want the recipe for that sauce! It was so so good. My son, who hates mushrooms, even ate the huge slices of portabella. I asked him why and he said, "The sauce makes them taste great!" We tried each other's fish and totally disagreed on which is best. But, as the more experienced eater, I think I won with the blackened. My wife had a grilled chicken sandwich. She does not like any seafood except canned tuna cooked into a casserole- not even a tuna sandwich. She said the fries and the bun were amazing. The chicken was a grilled chicken breast. Not much more you can say about that. Our table was on the outer edge by the windows. I got to watch the birds in a mini wetland during the meal. It was the perfect place for this old Texas Master Naturalist. We will eat here at least one more time with the whole family. It is quiet and not too crowded in the early afternoon, which is perfect for the baby.

We also liked the red snapper here, so we got 2. I was also looking at cajun seasoning and their selection is very, very limited. I only saw one little baggie of seasoning. Would have been nice if they had more for those people that cook from home. I didn't end up purchasing the seasoning. The total came out to around $125 which I thought was a little high for what we got, but there aren't many other options in town. Service was ok, but not the friendliest.
