We came to the spot as a recommendation from the resort we were staying on Padre Island. The location is on the water, which was a draw.. once we open the door the charm was gone. It's very dark and dingy inside of the restaurant. When you walk through the double doors you order at a counter cafeteria style. Once you order your food, they call you overhead and you have to go and pick it up to bring to your table. This is definitely not a fine dining experience at all. The menu options were vast and varied overall everything was fried. They only had a few other options that were not fried options. They also don't have too many non-seafood options. If this is your thing and go ahead and try it, it's definitely not our favorite. The red fish was the non fried option it wasn't so hot which takes away from the quality. The hushpuppies were super dense and not hot. That was the theme. We wanted seafood but were not impressed. The cost is high considering you order , seat yourself and pick up your own food. I saw Snoopy's on one of the Texas travel shows and thought I'd try it. I ordered the fish and chips. They were GREAT. The cod was flaky and had a crunchy top. The fries (chips) were hot, seasoned and crunchy on the outside. But here's what I didn't like: the place was old and dingy. You order and pay at the front, then they call your name to go to the pick up counter for your food. You have to get your own ketchup, salt, napkins and plastic silverware. You fill your drink into a styrofoam cup and your food comes on a paper plate. All that for $37 (including tip). I'm glad the food was good because everything else was a let down. I've gotten fish and chips at other places for much less money and in a nicer place. read more

Was looking for a really good seafood spot here since I was visiting for the weekend, and stumbled across snoopy's! The food is delicious and the prices are reasonable and not super expensive like some other places. Decided to try this place yesterday 08/24/2026 for lunch and it was the worse mistake!!!!!! Should have gone to Doc's next door. The place is old,outdated and filthy. I ordered the combo plate and asked the person behind the counter what it came with. He said 2 pieces of Cod, shrimp and oysters with a side of fry's. My order took over 30 minutes and when I went up to check on order the guy who took my order said they forgot to put in my order!!! When I got my order I told him this wasn't my order because I just saw shrimp and oysters and 2 very small hush puppies. He said that is my order and those to hush puppy items were actually my COD!! The plate looked horrible and smelled of old grease. I asked him is this the $30.00 combo plate and he said yes I told you have got to be kidding me he said no that's it. The shrimp is definitely frozen out of a box and I imagine so ate the oysters. I thought the COD fish would come in fillets rather than in 2 small fried shaped balls. Cute little diner near the water. Friendly staff and clean. It has a small souvenir shop. My plate had lemon pepper cod and fried shrimp! Yum! I also had the hot fired salty okra. We arrived at 6 p.m. and brought our dogs. There's a dog-friendly patio with plenty of shade and seating near Scoopy's, the dessert spot next door. A DJ was there running karaoke, which added to the vibe. You order your food at the register and then find a seat. They call your name over the intercom when your food is ready, but it was a little hard to hear from where we were sitting because of the music. The menu encourages you to add sides, which range from three to four dollars. It's a little misleading if you're not paying attention, but the portions are large. You can also order individual items a la carte, like fish or shrimp. We got a dozen shrimp. They were huge and perfectly fried. We also ordered the Snoopy's combo, which came with fries, four fried oysters, four shrimp, and fried fish. The fish wasn't cut like a filet, more like two big fish nuggets. Still, everything came out hot, fresh, and in large portions. We hadn't been here since we were kids. This was my first time here and my wife's first time here in about 20 years. The atmosphere is a 10/10, the place is full of charm and stories. The food was pretty mid and best. The burger was the most bland burger I've ever had in my life. My wife took one bite of hers and didn't even try to choke the rest down. Fries and hush puppies were good. My kids enjoyed their chicken fingers and grilled cheese. The staff was friendly and polite. We made some memories and even got the free picture to prove it. The ambiance is what you would expect from a seafood bar. The outdoor seating overlooks the water, but tables are hard to come by on a Saturday evening. Service was OK. It's one of those places that makes you tip as you order and pay, so you haven't actually experienced the service when you need to make that decision. Visited Snoopy's this weekend for dinner. It's beach shack ambiance. I ordered a cod fish sandwich for 12.95. I noticed I was charged 17.75. Was the water charged? No. Was tip included? No. There was a credit card upcharge of 3% and tax but that's not unusual. The sandwich rang up at 15.95. When I questioned the cashier, she shrugged and said, "I guess it went up."
