I looked all over for someone to replace the deteriorated fabric roof, and after Gil he returned my call he was able to give me a quote, and we arranged a date. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would. The first two times I was helped by GS Auto Upholstery was when they did a masterful job at a reasonable price replacing worn and torn driver's side arm rests in 2 cars - a 2014 Odyssey and 2025 Avalon like new. Then today, without having to leave the Avalon, in no more than10 minutes they repaired a detaching headliner in the Avalon. I can't say enough about owner, Gil (who I met just today) and his two amazing team members, Thomas and Jeremy who have honed their customer-focused approach as finely as their skills with repairs and retrofits. First off, I went to this business yesterday for an estimate of my 04 Jetta TDI. The headliner needed replaced. The estimate was fair in cost relating to other upholstery places I have called. They also had a cancellation and was able to get me in the next morning (today). I had no intention on dropping my car off because it was not discussed yesterday with the owner. The younger employee guys were very professional and was able to work with me if need be. That turned out not to be the case. I went to the cafe in the next building over, (which also had a fatty no batty awesome breakfast burrito)...shout out to the Benta Box Cafe open M-F 8a to 3p. They told me approx 3-4 hours it would be done. I got there just before 10a and my card was charged for the job a few minutes past 12:30p. I HIGHLY recommend these guys for auto upholstery work. Did excellent work at a reasonable price. The young guy that gave me a quote on the phone was super helpful... offered to stay a few minutes late when I was dropping the car off after work. He made sure I understood what the price included, and called me after he inspected the interior to let me know he discovered a problem with the sun visor mirror light. I drove there upon their request after I had spoke to the owner and the son on the phone. On the phone they said it would be $600. So I offered cash and he lowered the price to $560. I showed up to have them match the fabric. They told me it was going to be $600 so I said ok I want to pay cash so let me know what the price is for cash. His son goes inside and comes back out with the price still at $600. So that's fine if you want to raise the price on me. I still wanted the work so his son told me they have an opening on Wednesday and that they would need it for a full day in order to get it back to me within a day. So I told him I would bring it in a day early so I wouldn't have to leave the keys hiding under the car in his parking lot. Then I call 15 min from the shop with a family member following me there in their vehicle and the owner tells me that I don't have an appointment scheduled. Also he said idk who told you that we could have it done in one day because it will definitely take two days. So now I need to tel my gf that she will have to wait over a month to get her "surprise" birthday present. Surprise ruined. Thanks for wasting my time. read more

Excellent work. I had a 13 year old seat repaired. The original and backup fabrics were both discontinued. Gill got a fabric match as close as possible, and explained all the options for the repair, including the cushions and bolsters--the side cushions that hit your hips and thighs as you sit. I am very happy with the finished product. The seat looks sharp! The stitching, finish, cushion repair makes the 13 yr old seat look great and feel even better while driving. I took my father's 2007 corvette to GS Auto Upholstery in order to get a string in the convertible top fixed. The owner, Gil, was completely honest with me throughout the whole process as far as what needed to be done for the repair and the price of the repair. Not to mention he gave me the best price out of all of the other shops around. I ended up having to stay at the shop for a few hours to wait for my ride, and I must say Gil was extremely hospitable and an all-around great guy. I have 2007 Infiniti M35 w/ gorgeous deep orange leather interior (Infiniti calls it "Bourbon"). The driver side seat had some nasty tears in the vertical panel of the side bolster (not a seating surface, but right above the seat adjustment controls). HUGE eyesore. I was referred to and originally called Gil on the phone to discuss and get a rough estimate. He was friendly, helpful, and not pushy at all. I stopped by his shop unannounced 3 weeks later and he came right out, looked at my car, spent 15 minutes with me explaining exactly the situation (Infiniti actually used a lower quality matching vinyl for that panel as it wasn't a horizontal seating surface). He explained in great detail exactly his recommended solution and also gave me a few options to consider. I took his recommendation, and he was actually able to schedule me quickly in between some of his other big jobs as my job wasn't very big. He actually called me during the day of the repair to explain a situation that he encountered while working on the seat and offered me some options as to how to proceed. He actually recommended the LOWER cost option and I gave him approval to proceed. When I picked up the car at the end of the day I was floored. The repair looked FANTASTIC and was a perfect match to rest of the seat. One of the best consumer experiences I've had. You might ask why I am writing such a long positive review for a seemingly small repair? Well, I've owned small businesses myself, and I really appreciate when I get good service and good attitude from a small biz owner - especially when my job was probably as small a job as Gil provides. And like most folks, I typically only talk about a bad experience, but rarely talk about a great experience. My experience with Gil was great. I was impressed, and I loved his story on how got into the biz, and I will be referring him to everyone I know. read more

I do not know what the 2 previous customers were smoking when they wrote their review...but I am sure it was a bad batch! I am a retired army vet. and classic cars are my hobby. I own 3 classic cars (67' firebird, 55' Chevy and a judge GTO). Gil has restored the interior on all 3 cars, retrofitted power Cadillac seats in my 55 Chevy, installed a convertible top on my firebird and installed a complete reproduction. Interior in my Judge. All three cars have won awards and I recommend Gil to all my friends in the car club. He and his staff have an attention to detail, and workmanship that is second to none. Absolutely the worst experience I have ever had. The owner, Gill, is a fowl mouthed, frustrated little man, who clearly needed to retire years ago. The crew he has working for him look like they are fresh out of State Prison. Instead of fixing my convertible top, he made it far worse... He had the nerve to say "I ain't gonna charge ya". Gee, thanks, Gill. Absolutely incompetent. Used the "F" word (in front of me and my wife) repeatedly because he was frustrated... when I pulled up to get my car the hood was open and he had a battery charger on the battery. When I asked why, he flew off the handle..."because your battery is dead", he said in a real condescending tone... My battery was brand new! He obviously did something to drain it... do yourselves a favor folks and stay far away from this place... it truly was the wost experience I have ever had. Now I have to pay extra to fix the damage he caused... :( read more
