I was there last Wednesday night at 715pm for dinner, just two of us. The service was surprisingly good. I would rate the restaurant higher, but many times before it has not been a good place to frequent. The friend I went with wanted to go there, so we did. They do have fabulous pizza, but it is pricey, and I have been getting a turkey sandwich which is my new fave. We had a nice guy for our waiter, he was very attentive. (first time in awhile I have had a good waiter) There was a Red Wings game on, so the place was packed. After that experience, I would go back. The worst!!!!! Called and ordered with coupon and forgot to bring the coupon so they would not give me the deal, BAD BUSINESS!!!! Not only that they were very rude about it. Said if they gave it to me for the deal it would come out of the kid that makes the pizzas pay check. So I did not buy the pizzas and they went to waste. read more

I'm so disappointed. We've had a lot of good food at G's, but we've now had several awful experiences. We will never get pizza there again. It was amazingly expensive, cold, and undercooked (takeout of course). $57 for 2 pizzas and spears? That's crazy. YUMMIEST PIZZA EVER! ! We started with a cup of the twice baked potato soup. It was fabulous. Then, on to the 14 inch California Pizza which was incredibly delicious. I really wanted G's to be better! The pizza is average at best and there are many other better take out places in the area. The bar get crowded on Friday and Saturday nights if you just want a drink and a snack. Its definitely not my go to but will do when the weather is bad and you want to get out. read more

Not a good experience at all. Food very sub par. When moved to bar the bartender was not attentive at all. Spent most of her time with wait staff off to the side or eating not paying attention to any guest at the bar. Went to grab dinner w the family. Had never been before, so was looking forward to a new experience. It was awful. For being a Saturday evening, the place was dead, so we certainly didn't expect to be there for two hrs to feed six of us. Service was slow from the start, as it took 10 minutes and a walk up to the manager to even get our first round of drinks. Dinner was ordered and took quite long to get. Kids ordered pizza that they had completely finished by the time the rest of us got our food. Approached the "manager" once again to express our concerns of timing and quality of service. Instead of apologizing or taking care of the issue at hand, excuses were made and he began to argue with my entire family about our concerns. I have never been treated so horribly nor have I ever been one to cause a scene at a restaurant, but the whole situation was completely unacceptable. To top it all off, everything was totally flavorless and really disappointing. I will absolutely not give this place a second chance and would highly recommend going to any other Lake Orion establishment to get a meal. read more

Came here to grab a quick bite before we headed out and oh man were we in for a surprise. Firstly, the forks were so gross and unclean they still had bits of food from previous customers still stuck in them. We then decided to order a pizza just a pepperoni pizza nothing too crazy, IT TOOK 1 HOUR to get our pizza. People beside us that came in after us were getting food before us. & to top it all off not once did our waiter come to ask us if we needed anything else. We moved to the area several months ago and had been to Gs three times. The first time great experience, food and service. The last two, not so much. The servers the last two times we were there were very unfriendly and seemingly too busy to wait tables. But the food is decent so we were willing to overlook it. But then we went there last night and had the worst experience of all. I had bought a groupon $20 for $40 worth of food. I told the waitress about it before hand thinking I was being curtious and letting her know. Before ever bringing our tab over she scanned my phone and took off. Coming back with a bill that was $21.96. So I say something to the manager Mario stating that if she had brought us our tab first, we would have ordered dessert or dinks or something to make the tab closer to the $40 we were owed. He then got an attitude with us and basically told us too bad, he didn't care if we ever came back again. Offering us no dessert or anything to compensate. I'd understand if I had the tab and chose to cash out, but that was not the case. Incompetent waitress as well as management. Oh and one last thing... When she did drop off the tab AFTER she'd scanned my phone, she said "here you go. But you'll still have to pay the tax. Obviously." Really??? read more

I really like G's pizza. Usually get a personal size BLT pizza which is amazing! Today, I had seafood pizza. This pizza could have been amazing but was just mediocre. It had shrimp, crab, artichoke hearts, and Alfredo sauce. They put the artichokes on top and they dried out and became tough and impossible to chew. read more

Service was excellent which is good when you have a bit of a wait. The wait was not bad considering your getting fresh custom pizzas. Seemed pricey when looking at the menu, but was very fair when we got the bill. Very good selection of beer, we had the tall domestic at $2.50 We had Sharon's Bread for an appetizer. Very good cheesy bread. Wife had a 7" meat lovers pizza which was loaded with meat and had a wonderful crust. I had a Captain Cook pizza pie which is a little 2 crust pizza, this was also excellent. We both had 1/2 of our dinners left over and I would have eaten all of mine if I could have. We will be going back. Plan ahead to beat the crowds. read more

Frozen, bad food. Artichoke dip was floury, no cheesy taste, no artichokes. Server said it was from a mix. Really bad. Pasta dishes equally tasteless - canneloni supposedly stuffed with ground beef and sausage - it was a "paste" of sausage flavored junk. Cajun penne with chicken - virtually no chicken. Won't be back. Great casual dining. Huge bar area and ample seating in the dining room. Huge beer selection,too.The menu ranges from italian, to classic bar food, to plenty of sandwiches,soups, and salad.Everything i've had there has been tasty- definitely recommend pizzas and the Chicken Caprese sandwich! Boy..what a disappointment! There was a group of around 18 of us staying at Red Roof Inn for a surprise party for my son. We stayed there because it was next to a G's and we are big fans of G's. (especially the one in East Tawas) We went in for dinner and were seated promptly. That was about the only good thing for the rest of the night. The waitress was not friendly at all. Service was SO slow. The food was ok but not up to what we consider G's standards! After food was delivered we never seen the waitress until she brought us our bills. Had to go to bar and purchase our drinks. Well we left and a couple of hours later we went back over to the bar. Worst service ever!!!!! The bartender almost completely ignored us.Very rude! I waited 10 minutes for a drink and the bar was not busy. She would stop and chat with other customers(locals) and not bother to ask if we wanted anything. The website said open until 2 but at 12 she said "We are closing" Never bothered to give us any warning at all. Needless to say..we will not be going back there! read more

I am so extremely disappointed in the management of this restaurant. Our server was new and while she was very pleasant it was obvious she was very under trained. It was my sons birthday and he and I are pretty sensitive to gluten and were excited to try the gluten free pizza that was offered on the menu. We were brought a pizza that was NOT gluten free because the server did not know how to put the order in gluten free. My son and I ate half a slice each before I got to thinking there was no way it was gluten free. Sure enough it was not. We also arrived at the restaurant at 5:30 we were able to get a table right away which was great, but we were not served our food until almost 6:45!!! The pizza that the rest of our party ordered also came out wrong. After calling over a manager the gluten free pizza was taken off of our bill but we were not compensated anymore for the horrible experience we had!! Thank you G's I now have the next week to suffer thru getting this gluten out of my system. I am also 32 weeks pregnant which makes this even more painful! Any other restaurant, we would have at the least had our entire meal compensated for and maybe a gift card to encourage us to give you a second try. Well forget about that! read more
