Their response to end of life care was less than ideal and made a distressing decision and experience worse. When I returned days later to pick up my dog's cremains, the manager, Lindsay, asked to speak with me. She listened attentively to my retelling of the incident. She gave no excuses for the poor performance of the staff, which is what the vet on duty tried to do that night, and apologized profusely, thanking me for the feedback. She asked what could they have done differently and was resolute in her promise to address the staff. It doesn't change the experience I endured but I left there believing I was heard and, going forward, patients would be treated with more empathy and compassion. Lindsay even ordered a name plate for the urn! Thank you Lindsay for everything!

They assured me they would use Fear Free methods, had experienced similar dogs before, and that I shouldn't worry...bc they weren't worried. Having seen other vets/vet techs say the same and then act differently, I couldn't believe their calm and poise and how it translated to care. We were transferred from a North Jersey animal hospital to Red Bank Veterinary Hospital because we were told they were the best of the best -- and my goodness, that could not have been more true. From the emergency team to the greeters at the front desk, every single person treated us with urgency, compassion, and professionalism. They took Paisley in immediately, and the neurology team had her scheduled for an MRI first thing the next morning. I truly cannot say enough about Dr. Sheen. Her compassion, knowledge, and incredible people (and animal!) skills were beyond reassuring during such a traumatic time. She even went the extra mile to check on Paisley's results on her day off. That level of care meant everything to us. After some much-needed good news, we later worked with Dr. Haggerty for five tooth extractions and a root canal. Once again, from the moment we walked through the doors, we were blown away by the level of care and expertise. The hospital itself is spotless, massive, and run so seamlessly. Honestly, if I ever needed surgery, I'd want it to be at Red Bank It is an incredible place for both humans and animals during times of crisis and need. We are forever grateful to the entire team for taking such amazing care of Paisley. Thank you for being exactly who everyone says you are -- the absolute best.

After tests and scans we found that he a very large glioma brain tumor, one of the biggest they've seen in a small dog (he's a morkie). Cosmo already has diabetes and heart disease which complicated things a bit. We met with both internal medicine, neurology, and oncology to figure out the best plan for Cosmo as his brain tumor is inoperable. He went on a bunch of new medication that would hopefully lessen the frequency of the tumors until we underwent treatment. After meeting with Dr. Spanos from Oncology-Radiation she went over many different treatment plans listing out the pros and cons of each in addition to letting me know any and every side effect Cosmo might encounter. These treatments were also sent to me via email which I appreciated so I could really take the time to sit down and think about it. After a lot of deliberation we decided to start CFRT radiation treatment on a 10 day plan. It means Cosmo would need to undergo radiation treatment for 10 consecutive days (apart from weekends) and would need to go under anesthesia every time. I won't lie, it was tough. Cosmo was very lethargic due to the treatment but Dr. Spanos team did a great job and were very patient with him even though he's a very nervous boy at the vet. Once he completed his 10 days of CFRT treatment we received a certificate, we rang a bell, and the whole team who took care of him came out to celebrate. I'm happy to say we've been slowly tapering off his medicine and have completely stopped taking the prednisone/steroid for swelling. Additionally, Cosmo is now 70 days seizure free and has been back to acting like his normal self prior to us learning about his diagnosis. He still plays, gets the zoomies, and loves his long walks. He just is on a tight schedule for his anti-seizure medication. I can't thank the team at GSVS enough for giving me more precious time with Cosmo. Everyone I've interacted with in the hospital has been kind, understanding, and willing to go the extra mile for my pup. We are so grateful! We go back for a follow-up MRI to examine the status of Cosmo's tumor towards the end of summer.

I brought my orange domestic shorthair in for severe constipation after I couldn't get an appointment with my regular vet. The facility itself is very bright and comforting, which helped ease the stress of an emergency visit. They even have snacks and beverages for pet parents! It is a very active ER--it was intense seeing other pets coming in and witnessing some difficult moments for other families--but the team was incredible at multitasking and treating everyone with compassion. It is more expensive than a standard vet visit, but for the immediate service and high quality of care we received, it was absolutely worth it. I'm so grateful for this place and its convenient service when we needed it most.

This place, and the caring people in it, made a very difficult day more bearable…read more I came in knowing that I was going to have to put my almost sixteen year old cat down, and as we pet parents know, Sidney was more than a cat to me - he was family. He got me through some REALLY tough times over the past ten years, and honestly I'm not sure how I would have gotten through the pandemic without him. So knowing his time with me was coming to a close, I left it in his hands to tell me when it was time to go. And, unfortunately, that was the day he woke up and his eyes said simply, "Enough." The staff was attentive and kind from the jump. An examination revealed the options, but it was obvious that whatever was happening was quite serious - and I was given a breakdown of potential next steps. Of course with Sid's age, putting him down was also an option, and I already knew this is what we were going with. I did not receive any pressure to run any preliminary tests, procedures, or additional costs. I was simply told what the options were, and provided with an honest opinion of what the outcomes could be. And all options sucked. BUT it was obvious that the people helping me genuinely cared, and it made the heartbreak just a tiny bit easier. I had never had to do this before and I came in with Sid alone, so the vet guided me through what we were doing, what was next, and gave me ample time in between to say goodbye. Again, no real way to make these things less painful, but there was something in the attention and care I was receiving that made me feel like I wasn't going through it alone. The staff was going through it with me. I also received a beautiful card in the mail from them afterwards, hand-signed with a personal message from each - and this small gesture brought such warmth to my heart that I felt I had to share it. Highly recommend this place.

I feel like every nurse checked in with us at least once. Even my cat felt chill enough after a while to curl up and nap in his large cage (they were quite busy and all rooms were taken). As off Feb '25 it was $200 for just the most basic care, for what it's worth, and in our situation it was very much worth it. They sent everything to my usual vet, including recommended follow up testing. Flippin' awesome and so helpful for moving forward after a terrible Sunday!

In the past we went ton other emergency vets and unfortunately it was always a long wait, you were away from your dog the entire time, and they wouldn't release your dog to you until after you paid. VEG is different than all those places. We were seen immediately and while they do have an open concept ER, they gave us a private room just in case. The nurse (Diana) and the vet (Dr. Schwartz) were all incredible. They took such good care of our dog and us! They allow you to be with your pet during X-rays which I found amazing. The behavior this practice has exhibited has been avoidant, evasive and disappointing. I called distressed after my dog was having complications healing from surgery after a lipoma removal. We arrived on a busy Sunday and were taken at the end of a triage. During our time there I voiced to MULTIPLE techs that my dog was bleeding through his gauze. 2/3 responses were a deadpan stare and the words "ok". It took 3 times of me asking/ pleading for someone to listen to me. Even then I was armed with loose gauze and a wee wee pad. When we were finally seen I was so relieved i let this all fall away. I was so happy my pet was taken care of I went home following their orders and protocol. The next day I realized all the sutures at the site had fallen out and we were back at square one after spending hundreds of dollars. Naturally I was upset and placed a call to the location. I was placed on an infinite hold 3 times with no answer until i called from my friend's phone to which they picked up immediately. I have been calling every day since Monday with not a single person giving me a call back or without any financial compensation for the negligent job they did. I have given them since Monday to give me a call back and fix this. I've called every day without a call back. So if you don't care about your pets or spending unnecessary money this is the place for you!

To have the entire staff be so caring, attending, comforting, and professional, is truly a one in a million situation. When I came in with an emergency with my little pup, Dr. Diego Milano kept a clear mind, an empathetic attitude, and a compassionate heart. He took such good care of my boy, my gratitude is too much to vocalize. once we were checked in to our room, he checked on my baby every 10-15 minutes, made sure both of us were ok, and stayed on top of our situation even though I heard multiple critical situations happening outside. He balanced everything so well and i really take my hat off to him. he was amazing. As for the overnight nurse, Caroline, I'm at a loss for words for how golden her heart is. She took such good care of both me and my baby. She understood the anxiety an owner feels going through this situation and went out of her way to ensure i was doing good too. she checked on my baby every 10 minutes. any time i needed to step away to use the bathroom, she stayed with my baby. she was so gentle and kind with him. you can tell shes doing her job out of passion and care. Shes one of a kind and truly a gem. I could cry just writing about the care she provided for us. When the shift changed to the daytime staff, I was a little worried about the transition and sad to see Caroline and Dr. Milano go. I was worried about who was going to take care of us now because of the genuine top tier care we had received, how could you match that? but. they did. Dr. Andre and nurse Christina were our doctor and nurse after the shift change. They were just as kind, just as compassionate, just as professional, and just as empathetic. They made the night to day transition so smooth. They were completely filled in, treated me with just as much respect and empathy, and had me crying tears of joy as I left this hospital. I can't speak enough kind words for this facility and the entire staff. Even when my nurse or doctor were helping other patients, other nurses made themselves readily available and willing to help me and my baby and make us feel comfortable and ok. This was truly one of the hardest nights of my entire life but this facility and the staff working here made it manageable. For the staff reading this, I thank you again and send you my kindest regards. You guys are truly angels and what you're doing is a beautiful thing and your hearts are made of gold. Thank you all.

If your pet has an actual emergency, a complex health issue, or multiple health concerns, this is not the place. If you're in the UES, just go to the Animal Medical Center. I brought my cat here thinking maybe it would be OK, but I ended up waiting a minimum of 20 minutes without being seen. My own vet actually called me while I was there to follow-up regarding prior treatment. When I told him where I was, he advised me to go to the Animal Medical Center which is very close. The issue is that only one veterinarian available, so when you're seen depends on how busy it is. A bigger hospital has multiple vets and vet techs on staff, so they can see multiple animals at the same time. The staff was friendly, but they seem easily distracted and overly cheerful, like it was an office party. This is meant to be an ER. Sometimes you need people to be serious. They have a big board where they supposedly do triage, but I don't believe they really take pets according to level of care needed. For some reason, my pet's name never made it up onto the board, so I kept waiting for the vet to take a look. They kept saying they had really sick pets to see first. (My cat stayed at the AMC for 3 days and 2-3 nights.) Eventually I up and left because my cat needed to be seen right away and they kept skipping over us and telling us they'd get to us, which did not happen. When I was leaving, the receptionist was trying to get me to stay even though we were never seen. I really don't know what kind of health issues would warrant a visit here versus an actual vet emergency room. Having been to AMC, I can't say I would ever come back or recommend this type of facility.
