He got me through some REALLY tough times over the past ten years, and honestly I'm not sure how I would have gotten through the pandemic without him. So knowing his time with me was coming to a close, I left it in his hands to tell me when it was time to go. And, unfortunately, that was the day he woke up and his eyes said simply, "Enough." The staff was attentive and kind from the jump. An examination revealed the options, but it was obvious that whatever was happening was quite serious - and I was given a breakdown of potential next steps. Of course with Sid's age, putting him down was also an option, and I already knew this is what we were going with. I did not receive any pressure to run any preliminary tests, procedures, or additional costs. I was simply told what the options were, and provided with an honest opinion of what the outcomes could be. And all options sucked. BUT it was obvious that the people helping me genuinely cared, and it made the heartbreak just a tiny bit easier. I had never had to do this before and I came in with Sid alone, so the vet guided me through what we were doing, what was next, and gave me ample time in between to say goodbye. Again, no real way to make these things less painful, but there was something in the attention and care I was receiving that made me feel like I wasn't going through it alone. The staff was going through it with me. I also received a beautiful card in the mail from them afterwards, hand-signed with a personal message from each - and this small gesture brought such warmth to my heart that I felt I had to share it. My second visit to VEG, two years after my first, was for a completely different issue for my cat…read more Once again the team descended upon me and my boy immediately, and calmly and thoroughly triaged him and took me through all the intake questions. I spent 3+ hours there but it didn't feel like it. I was able to be by his side the entire time, there was hydration and snacks, and I was comfortable. I feel like every nurse checked in with us at least once. Even my cat felt chill enough after a while to curl up and nap in his large cage (they were quite busy and all rooms were taken). As off Feb '25 it was $200 for just the most basic care, for what it's worth, and in our situation it was very much worth it. They sent everything to my usual vet, including recommended follow up testing. Flippin' awesome and so helpful for moving forward after a terrible Sunday!

Luckily once they brought her back for triage, she began eating some lettuce which made me so relieved as I was extremely worried about her condition. So we did take her back home to monitor her condition and scheduled her a follow up appointment, and thankfully she resumed her normal demeanor and was back to eating and drinking normally. Today, Sunday 8/9, we brought Basil back in for her follow up/general well visit and I cannot sing enough praise for Dr. Amanda Steinagel! She did such a wonderful job helping us figure out what may have caused Basil's episode this past Friday and provided a wonderful treatment plan to hopefully avoid the situation from happening in the future. We were even sent home with some medications, just in case it were to happen again, so we now at least have something to try at home before we rush her back over if it were to worsen. She was extremely professional and kind, and everything was explained very clearly! She was genuinely so amazing, I cannot recommend this place enough especially if you are looking for a rabbit savvy veterinarian. I look forward to continuing Basil's care with this practice and I am so grateful we found them!

We were taken directly into the treatment area, where I was able to stay right beside my fur baby. They checked her vital signs, made sure I knew where the restroom was, and even showed me the complimentary snacks and beverages. We didn't have to wait long before Dr. Russell came over, listened carefully as I explained why we were there, and thoroughly evaluated Stella. He quickly identified what was causing her pain and explained everything clearly. Stella received pain medication by injection, and we were sent home with additional medication to keep her comfortable. When it was time for Stella's injection, my sweet girl became a little grouchy. The team handled her with such patience and compassion, moving us into a private room so they could safely care for her away from the open treatment area. That thoughtful accommodation meant so much to me. We arrived at approximately 5:30 a.m. and were home within one to two hours. The cost was absolutely worth it to know my baby had been properly evaluated, treated, and relieved of her pain. Like any ER, there was a bit of a wait around 5pm, but the assistants were checking up on her in the interim. They were upfront and supportive with decision making and making sure my sweet girl was feeling better. What an incredible group of people!…read more My dog is susceptible to pneumonia and when he had a wet cough on a Sunday, I knew it couldn't wait for his primary vet on Monday. In the past we went ton other emergency vets and unfortunately it was always a long wait, you were away from your dog the entire time, and they wouldn't release your dog to you until after you paid. VEG is different than all those places. We were seen immediately and while they do have an open concept ER, they gave us a private room just in case. The nurse (Diana) and the vet (Dr. Schwartz) were all incredible. They took such good care of our dog and us! They allow you to be with your pet during X-rays which I found amazing. No paying first then waiting for your pet to be discharged. You're as hands on as you're comfortable being. Amazing place.

The behavior this practice has exhibited has been avoidant, evasive and disappointing. I called distressed after my dog was having complications healing from surgery after a lipoma removal. We arrived on a busy Sunday and were taken at the end of a triage. During our time there I voiced to MULTIPLE techs that my dog was bleeding through his gauze. 2/3 responses were a deadpan stare and the words "ok". It took 3 times of me asking/ pleading for someone to listen to me. Even then I was armed with loose gauze and a wee wee pad. When we were finally seen I was so relieved i let this all fall away. I was so happy my pet was taken care of I went home following their orders and protocol. The next day I realized all the sutures at the site had fallen out and we were back at square one after spending hundreds of dollars. Naturally I was upset and placed a call to the location. I was placed on an infinite hold 3 times with no answer until i called from my friend's phone to which they picked up immediately. I have been calling every day since Monday with not a single person giving me a call back or without any financial compensation for the negligent job they did. I have given them since Monday to give me a call back and fix this. I've called every day without a call back. So if you don't care about your pets or spending unnecessary money this is the place for you!

It was the most humane thing to let her go. I really felt like I got all my questions answered, the doctors/vets/workers were so empathetic and kind to answer all my questions. If your animal is in an emergency, and you want the honest truth, and honest help from people who care about animals - come here. It was like being in our own home. There was a fish tank, bookshelves, etc. My husband thought it was a bit over the top, but I can see how dogs would find it much more comforting than a cat would. Molly was peaceful and calm. She was allowed to be in her carrier after the initial catheter procedure. She didn't like the catheter in her leg, but otherwise it was much better than lying on a hard metal table. We opted to let her gently fall asleep and then left the room for her final moment.

After searching Yelp for an open Veterinary Hospital on a Friday night; found Eclipse open 24 hours. So, I made the call and spoke with them to confirm they were open and they have the ability to address her situation. Arriving after a 20 minute ride, there was no waiting time, they took her immediately to the treatment area for a prompt examination of her situation. After completing the initial intake documentation we spoke with a technician to explain the situation that led us there. After a period of time, the ER Vet - Dr. Charlotte Van Horne spoke with us regarding the different pathways of a diagnosis for the treatment of vertigo, along with of her progression . The Doc gave a thorough explanation and was showed patience in answering all our questions. She didn't rush or push her treatment, and I appreciated the clear explanations provided and treatment plan. After a day at home, we decided to bring her back Saturday since my dog refused to eat or drink water for approximately 24 hours, hence she was unable to take her meds. The waiting room was busy with other dogs and cats. We spoke with the staff and then consulted with Dr. Katie Bazewicz on her diagnosis and our options. We chose to admit her for the next 24 hours so my dog can get the proper amount of fluids via an I.V.; actually kept her admitted until Monday morning when our dog would be examined by the Vet Neurologist - Dr. Boaz Levitin. He provided a thorough exam and gave his diagnosis which gave us comfort with the current treatment plan and didn't just push us for an MRI, which isn't the best option due to my dog's age. We were extremely impressed with the level of care and attention we received. The entire medical team was professional, knowledgeable, and communicative; from the receptionist, med techs, nurses, doctors, and specialist. The staff were friendly and empathetic throughout our several visits. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The waiting room is large and nicely decorated for the holidays. They have a complimentary water, along with a coffee/tea/hot chocolate machine to include a soda/snack vending machine. The price points for the services may be higher than your usual Vet bill, however you need to understand that this is a 24 hour ER service. It could be a little pricey, but my question is how important is your furry family member valued by you and your family in your home. Overall, I was very satisfied with the care provided and would highly recommend Eclipse ER Vet Hospital to others. The compassionate and professional service I experienced is a credit to the hospital and its entire staff.

And, were very patient with issues I had in getting my debit card to process, as the extra stress I was reacting to. Ultimately, it appeared Blue contacted a bacteria, which was well in its way to shutting down and overwhelming his liver and other basic functions. Dr Howe was incredibly gentle in explaining Blue would not recover anything like his usual active, engaging & funny life. So, we put him to sleep - Dr Howe let me & adult child come to this conclusion. We left to tell other family members, but the decline accelerated, so she called, and we immediately returned. We were allowed privacy & the time we needed to say goodbye, she explained how painless and gentle the process was, and again, we given all the time we needed. For years, we received excellent service and great kindness from the married veterinarians who operated the clinic. From providing me with excellent references when I wanted to adopt a cat to offering sensitive services in helping to see each kitty cross the "Rainbow Bridge," this was a highly empathetic and ethical veterinary practice. The doctors Miele retired and sold the practice, and I did not have any problems until recently when I took my 14-year-old Himalayan, Dexter, for a checkup. He is very healthy but has some tummy issues. There was no discussion of costs prior to the exam and I did not think that was odd because I always assumed they would be fair. I was asked if I wanted to include a recommended blood test - I said yes, not realizing it was about $350. I had planned on spending about $500 and was shocked when the bill was $1000! I explained that I thought that was high but I would pay $500 now and the balance the following Monday. This arrangement was not acceptable - The office manager, a woman with few people skills or empathy, insisted I pay the entire amount and made veiled threats that included stating that leaving without paying the full amount was equivalent to walking out of a store without paying. They treated me like a potential criminal instead of a long-term client and refused to send the blood test out until I paid the full amount. I am an 83-year-old senior citizen with a serious lung condition. I am on O2 24/7. I have lived in the same condo for 35 years and have run a successful business since moving here. I have no record of any kind beyond traffic tickets. Did this witch and the equally unhelpful women manning the desk at Princeton Animal Hospital think that I was going to toss all that, grab my cat and flee into the night between Thursday and Monday, just to avoid paying $500? Luckily, I had Dexter in his carrier and in my hand because I feel certain they would have held him hostage. I admit that my Irish temper flared but I have a lot to cope with being ill with a terminal disease and being threatened with more financial hassles and stress. So, I just left. I called the next day - the Manager was off and I was told that the blood test would not be sent out until I paid the $500. They could not guarantee the specimen would still be viable and I might have to bring Dexter in again for a new test! As if! I just cancelled the blood test and asked them to invoice me the balance which they did. I am going into this kind of detail to show how far Princeton Animal Hospital has fallen and to tell you that they may be within their rights. This is becoming a common practice in New York, according to a friend of mine, cat care expert and groomer, Anitra Frazier. My advice would be to discuss the costs in advance before even bringing your dog or cat to any vet. And to certainly avoid Princeton Animal Hospital. So, now I need to find a new vet for Dexter. (I should have noted earlier that my quarrel is not with Princton Animal Hospital's veterinarians but with its obnoxious clerical staff.) It is really sad to see how far this one excellent practice has fallen.
