I cannot recommend this place enough. I give it and all of them a million stars. Amazing communication, my car looks beautiful, and extra thanks given for the flavored tootsie rolls that they keep in the candy bin and let me "borrow"!

Terrible experience!!! don't use them!!! took 2 weeks longer than expected with no communication!…read moreCar star took an extra 2 weeks on a job that should have taken a few days. They gave me the date to bring my car in and still took that long. They did my estimate and should have had this planned better. They didn't tell me it would be a 2 week job or offer a rental or even tell me to find my own rental. I even drove by the garage and saw my car parked in the parking lot with no work done on it for a few days. After the first week I was called on Friday at about 4pm and told it would be another week and given no explanation. I was told that "these things take time". On Thursday of the second week I called them and asked on the progress and I was told that they ordered parts, but weren't sure they'd have them on time since they came broken and had to re order. If I wouldn't have called I likely would have had to wait another weekend with zero communication. In this phone call I had to wait on hold for quite a while while they figured out what was even happening. They still didn't know and had to call me back. It wasn't until my Dad got on the phone and asked for an explanation they finally said they'd have my car done the next day and had parts issues. Overall, I so so so don't recommed this place. Im not a bad person to work with, all I need is a little communication. I understand that they might be backed up, and shipment issues are likely out of their control. but that was so so so bad for so many reasons. As a single female trying to take care of herself they mistreated me. I called my insurance provider and told them not to recommend Car Star anymore. My agent said they had another customer complain about them as well and would take Car Star off their list of places they recommend. Rodney was my point of contact with Carstar and was awful. He was unhelpful, made me feel like i was an inconvience, and didnt take me serious until my dad called for me. My insurance provider even said another person had complained about Rodney as well. Save yourself the time and frustration and just try another place.

I am shocked at what some of these reviews are saying... I've been using them for parts and tunes…read moreon my 2011 Chevy Cruze Eco since November of 2020. I have purchased their V3 turbo, front mount intercooler, 42# green injectors, CAI, Cat-less downpipe and mid pipe, their coil pack, the HP-Tuner and the 12" big brake kit. Don't use them for tunes as a review said... that is absurd. Tim has done the tunes from day one. He is fantastic to work with and since December 2020 he's probably made about 35 tune adjustments and 20 of them in the last month as we are trying to fix a boost issue that came up after having the car modified for 20K miles and not once has he charged me for new tune. a little while ago I reached out to him about getting the new rotors and he just sends me a new tune to try! Who else does that? Someone mentioned BNR? I lived 45 miles from them in FL and tried to contact them 3 separate times and never heard back. I do agree with the review about not answering the phone and it always goes to voicemail, but they are responsive in emails. The retarded girl as one review said must be Ashley and she is fine to work with, not once have I had a problem with her. Hard to return parts? I also bought their stage 1 cam and valve springs but was too wary of my local GM dealership installing them and they wanted $1350 dollars in labor alone. ZZP was about that much for parts and labor! I was going to drive from south Florida to their shop in Michigan, but I got cold feet because of the milage on the car. Was just over 100K mile. I returned them without an issue, no restocking fee, and now I just might be getting them installed as I have to take the car to them since the remote troubleshooting has gone as far as it can. The only parts I've had an issue with was the slotted and drilled rotors which developed some big cracks after living in FL and PA and going back and forth a few times as well as salted roads in winter. I got standard rotors which weren't offered when i bought the kit originally. I replaced the pads and rotors about a month and a half ago, since the pads area wear item it happens. I personally never liked drilled rotors, and this was the first set I bought in over 30 years of building cars but making the horsepower the car has now needed the bigger brakes to be able to stop, which it does extremely well now. The problem I'm having now could possibly be coil pack related and I took apart the boots and didn't like what I saw... a lot of corrosion and rust on the inside which I had to clean off with sandpaper but couldn't get inside the inner part of each coil. I bought a cheap replacement to test with and no difference. I still think the coil needs to be replaced but we will see. And no, this is not a 5-star fake review... I'm waiting on a quote for troubleshooting the car if I bring it there... a 6-hour drive. If its nothing major like a complete engine rebuild the cam and valve springs will be going in as the final mod. When your modifying cars you're going to run into problem at some point so you shouldn't complain about it, it's part of the hobby. Try driving 3.5 hours from upstate NY to NJ to get a heavily modified STi tuned... had a $1250 Process West Intercooler on it and after the tuner did a smoke leak test it had a leak! Brand new... it wasn't the tuner's fault or the company who i got it from and that company drop shipped me a new one and didn't want the old one back. I bought 5 gallons of 112 octane race gas with me and had to go 3.5 hours back home, wait 2 weeks and drive back down there with more race gas.

One coil has gone bad and now they want me to send it back at my expense which would be greater than the cost of the coil . They do this on purpose so that they don't have to warranty their product . Disappointed in this company won't buy from them again .
