The food was very good in my opinion- I would recommend for that reason alone. However, I'm HUGE on customer service, sadly I was not pleased with the no smile, non welcoming demeanor our waiter represented. I should never have to ask for water or a plate to have my dinner on. They do charge 5% on AMEX cards- which I find insulting as a business owner myself. Maybe my next trip to Calhoun I'll revisit the restaurant in hopes of a better experience all around. read more

Guacamole's is our favorite Mexican spot in the area! We're always seated quickly, and the staff are friendly and attentive. The food consistently comes out fast and tastes great every time. I'm so glad we found this place -- we used to go to El Nopal, but the food there just isn't what it used to be. The prices at Guacamole's are fair, and the quality is always reliable. They have a bar if you'd like to sit there, as well as plenty of booths and tables for dining. Just a heads up, they no longer take Amex, in case you use that card. Hit this for lunch a couple of times. Old strip mall, not too special looking but the food is above average. Somewhat limited for me since I am a vegetarian but I can find a few things to eat there. The veg specials they have are ok, kind of blend together. The huevos rancheros is probably one of the better meals. Salsa is average, but I grab some bottled hot sauce to help it out. So overall average, so why the 4 stars? All three times I have had lunch there, had the same waitress and she is always to helpful and pleasant, even though it can't be an easy job. Back in April we were moving and starving. We came here to get tacos and loved it so much we have been repeat customers ever sense. Their margaritas are amazing and since then we have tried their chicken soup when we were sick and it hit the spot. We pretty much order tacos at any Mexican place we go and these are authentic and delicious. My personal favorite is the flautas! My mother in law is Mexican and i won't say they taste as great as hers but they are pretty close to it. Who knew that North GA had some of the best Mexican food around? Location and Parking The restaurant is located in a strip mall next to a cabinet store and nail salon. Parking is plentiful and free. Venue and Atmosphere The restaurant is VERY clean, with stately wooden booths and Mexican decor on the walls. Silverware is individually wrapped and the tables were sparkling clean when we sat down. The restrooms could use work, however. Food and Beverages The menu is large and the drink menu is colorful. I ordered a strawberry margarita and it got me where I needed to go lol. I also had the Mexican guacamole. It's chunky and freshly made each time. My entree was the chicken fajita quesadilla. The chicken and veggies were grilled to perfection and the queso set it off just right. Service Our server spoke limited English, but that is not a barrier to delicious food. He was prompt and sweet. A-ma-zing! I love this place. It's clean, the staff is friendly and they also have a really good frozen marg! I have been here twice in the past two weeks and I'm already craving it again. We ordered fajitas Texas, with queso that I pour on top of the meat/shrimp/veggies then eat it like nachos. I'm also obsessed with their Mexican style steak tacos. Wish they had charro beans but the refried beans were nice. Huge portions which did not match smaller portion of tortillas size, rice and beans. But overall great meal. Will visit again. Don't be scared that it looks like a pool bar dive from the outside. It's not fancy but it is an awesome stopover. We hiked all day and usually hit up bbq but at 4pm on Sunday nothing was open so we searched yelp and found this gem. The service was great --very attentive. The food was tasty --and well priced--and portions were awesome!! We started with the Texas nachos per a photo we saw in yelp {shout out } they were awesome and covered in shrimp beef and chicken and lightly doused in queso --had we not hiked for 3 hours that prob would have filled us up. We then ordered the molecajte for two {only $22} and it was this massive dish with shrimp flank steak chicken pork and ground beef even in the bottom of the massive sized gaucamole bowl. It came with two portions of the sides you typically see for fajitas and we so large we took half of it home. Def glad yelp helped us find this hidden jewel right off exit 312 on 75 read more

Food was actually very good and tasty. I was a little surprised did not think it would be that good. Staff was attentive and overall the service was good. Seemed that the kitchen had a little hard time getting all 5 orders out at exactly the same time but they were close enough and the good tasting food made up for that. The quantity of food for the cost was more than fair and the quality was good. Chips and salsa was brought out quickly and each person got their own bowl to pour salsa into. Found this gem on our drive home from Florida on Yelp. We were hungry, it was getting late, and we needed to eat soon. Was a little concerned as it is located in a little strip mall, but the parking was good and we were seated right away. I opened up the menu and it felt very familiar. When the server came by I told her that the menu was very similar to our favorite Mexican restaurant in Cleveland TN. She said that is because it is the same owners. The service was awful. I'm usually very patient when it comes to food service, but this was ridiculous. The server made it seem like I was being too complicated with my order when I asked for no beans. After not seeing our server for a long time, he finally came back and told us our order is on the list in the kitchen to be made and then he disappeared again. The table near us waited over an hour for their food and we waited about 50 minutes. Over half of the restaurant was taken care of and left before we got our food. We didn't see our waiter again till we finished our food and he brought us the bill. He also informed us that he was going on break and if we needed anything to wave down someone else. After waiting and not seeing anyone to wave down to pay our bill, I went to the front and as I was checking out the man that helped me told me, "It just get busy sometimes." But being from central California, where there's a family run Mexican restaurant literally on every corner, I can say that the food here is just not authentic. We needed dinner late while driving through town. We ordered 2 vegetarian meals. They were ok. But to be honest, they were just beans and cheese wrapped in tortillas.
