We were visiting from out of town and decided to go to Applebees for lunch. Very few people in the restaurant. Our server seated us and I told my husband later she looked like she was having a bad day. No words, no smile, just glares. The entire lunch was frustrating. The food took forever, although it was good, but service was ridiculously terrible. She ignored us while tending to all the regulars at the bar. No refills on drinks even though we finally got her attention and asked. Waited on the bill and then for her to cash us out. We came in on a Sunday after lunch time and were promptly greeted and seated as well as our water order taken. We did not see a waitress for us for about 10-15 minutes then only our alcoholic drink order was taken. Another 15 minutes before our app order of beef nachos was taken which took over 45 minutes to come out after repeatedly asking where it was to our waitress and the manager. We asked for silverware and were not given any until our food. We ordered whiskey bacon cheeseburger, kids chicken taco, half rack of ribs (no towelette given), chicken and shrimp and impossible burger. None of the food was cooked to temp that we requested. Food was mediocre at best. Staff sat around on their phones and ignoring most tables. Pathetic. Will never go there again. Can I give 0 stars? I went in to applebees tonight around 7. our server took a while to greet us, fine he was busy. We ordered an appetizer and a dinner from the bar, that took forever.. the serve finally came over and mentioned he didn't know why my drink wasn't being made, . and when we got out appetizer the beer cheese was cold, like it just came out of the refrigerator. which at that point we ordered entrees..By 8:15 (roughly 45 minutes after entrees were ordered) we were looking for our server to check on our food. He told us we were still waiting on 3 out of 5 entrees... we asked him did the ticket not go in right away (as a past server I know things happen) he said right now the ticket time is 25 minutes, even though it had been 45 minutes since ordering.. we told him just to box it up because we were so irritated. The manager came out abs told us they were short staffed and we questioned why they didn't tell us that before waiting 45 minutes for food.. the manager shrugged us off. As we are waiting 4 tables that came in AFTER was was getting all of their food...We waited another 15 minutes to actually get out "Togo" food which my sides were missing... The server gave us the check. They didn't even offer to comp our app which was the least they could have done. We decided to bring it to the manager and he just kept telling us it's short staffed.. and that we had only been there for 25 minutes. Pretty unprofessional to argue with guest. I should not leave a restaurant hungry that my bill is over $85.. Finally we get home(I live 5 minutes from the restaurant) my steak is way over cooked and my sons chicken tenders were dry.. I had a very bad experience at this restaurant today. I was told I would need to wait five or ten minutes even though I could see many clean, open tables scattered around the restaurant. I waited, and a few minutes later a party of three came in and got seated immediately. Another party came in and the hostess was about to seat them, but I spoke up and said I'd been waiting. I was seated at a table next to a family with two very small children who were climbing on the seats and shrieking. I asked my server if I could move to another table and she said yes. She then walked off toward the back. I thought she would come back to show me to another table, but she never did. I finally just chose a table in another section. My new server made a minor mistake with my drink, but finally got it right. Before I ordered I asked her what the up charge would be if I got a side salad with my meal, which did not come with sides. She told me $2.99, so I ordered it. When I got the check, she had charged me the full price, $4.99. I reminded her that she told me $2.99, but she would not honor what she had told me. Before the virus we came here every week. Now that they're back open the management has really messed things up and has made it impossible to enjoy. Tonight we used the Yelp app to pre-checkin. The app said there was a 20 minute wait and we needed to check-in by 6:27. We got to the restaurant at 6:27 and were told there was at least an hour wait. The food is good at Applebee's. The service just sucks. The waitress is a really nice girl. I just don't think being a waitress is her specialty. For example, when she brought water to the table for my kids and me. She spilled some water. She didn't come back to clean it up nor did she come back and give us napkins. Visited this Restaurant @ 9pm on 7/19/14 - Saturday Brandon- We were greeted at the door by the manager who proceeded to hit on my girlfriend. I guess he didn't notice me but it was kinda funny seeing as how he was an older white guy. Vy- After dealing with the manager we were seated very quickly but I noticed they had the music turned extremely loud on their TouchTunes Jukebox. Service- We both agreed the service was great. Food came out quickly and we were well attended by our waitress. They refilled our drinks often and was very polite unlike their management. Food- Brandon ordered fish and chips with a cherry coke and bourbon. There isn't anything special about his dish, run-of-the-mill frozen fish with fries but it was good. Vy ordered the Oriental Chicken Salad which came with it's own dressing. She loved the dressing that came with it but other than that it wasn't all that special. She notes that it didn't taste that fresh. Atmosphere- It's like any other Applebee's. However at this one the music was extremely loud and made it difficult to have a conversation. The place wasn't as clean as a normal Applebees (straw paper on the ground, lemon on the floor, table was kind of sticky) Price/Quantity- Brandon feels that his fish & chips were overpriced for what they were and most importantly they charged nearly $13 for his Jim Beam on the rocks!! He was extremely annoyed at how expensive the drink was. Come on it's an Applebees! Vy feels that the salad was okay but for how much we paid she believed the greens could have been fresher.
