First visit, nice outdoor space along the river. Patrons place their order at the small bar; when I was here on a Saturday at Noon there was only one person who was taking orders, serving drinks & tastings at the bar, and running the cash register (along with a trainee who was observing). Needless to say, this created a long wait time. I ordered a flight of beer of four 4 oz pours. Nothing real exciting from the variety I ordered and they charged a ridiculous $15 per flight (seriously?!), something I didn't know until I got the bill. For lunch, I had the pastrami on rye & fries. Didn't care for the sandwich as the bread was super greasy and they evidently put the pastrami on the flattop as it was a bit hard and crispy. Great staff and the covered outdoor patio is relaxing. There are TV's that were looping some trivia questions and a stage on which they presumably have musicians play. In nice weather, it would be an incredible venue for a beer and live music. We ordered a beer flight, sodas for the kids, and some food to share (burger, basket of fries, and a few soft pretzels with mustard and beer cheese). The beers were great, as were the pretzels. The fries were good but the burger was so grisly that our family actually left some of it untouched...unheard of. Ha! read more

We were greeted quickly by beer-tenders who were happy to let us try a beer or two before we made our decisions. We were not unhappy with any of the brews! This brewery is right on the river so it has a lovely view and had a nice chill vibe outside. They don't have their own food but they did have a great biscuit food truck the day we visited and the prices were reasonable. My only complaint would be the noise level inside. It was a smidge cold so we thought we would go inside to eat/deink. However, there were a few families inside with their children who were being wildly loud and obnoxious. The brewery offers a skeeball type game as well as a long table top shuffleball type game. The kids were all playing these games with Gusto! I imagine that is a huge perk to many people traveling with kids. Sadly though the insulation is such that the combined noise of all of these things (kids screaming, hard balls being rolled and slammed into the ground, and discs being slammed on the table) was a lot overwhelming in such a small place. read more

This brewery is a diamond in a dozen. A beautiful location right next to the river, that even on a cold day-you'd still want to visit. The beer is good, and the food is even better. Top that with the amazing view- this is a place I would visit every day if I was local. Not to mention, the service here is wonderful! The beertenders were very sweet, and were patient with me and my family when ordering beer. I ordered the fish and chips, and it was absolutely delicious! The fries were seasoned well, and I liked them even though they were steak fries (I'm personally more of a thin fry type of gal) and the fish was crispy and flakey. The remoulade the fish came with was packed with flavor and really made the fish and chips taste that much better. They forgot the vinegar but it wasn't really needed with that remoulade. The pork belly sliders were a perfect combination of sweet, fatty and savory. The sliders are probably one of the best things I have eaten in a long time, and I will come back to get those again. The nachos were okay but not the star of the show by any means. I'd highly recommend going for the fish and chips and the pork belly sliders to anyone who hasn't been here before! I'll be back to this brewery again, that's for sure. read more

We went here because we couldn't get parking in town during apple festival. Nice indoor and outdoor seating with live music. The menu is limited but very good. I had the smoked sausages. Came with 2 sausages on buns and sauerkraut. They were excellent. My husband got the pastrami sandwich and he said it was excellent as well. The fries were also very good and both dishes came with great portion size. Enough to take some home. Service was very good as well. They have a nice selection of beers and you can get a flight to try a bunch. Will definitely try this place again. read more

Awesome experience. I have to be extremely cautious about where I eat due to a severe seafood/ fish allergy. I explained this at the bar before I ordered and asked about Worcestershire sauce ( fish) . The bartender checked with the kitchen staff and recommended what I could eat and suggested alternatives to the fried food. I had the smoked sausage, pretzel bites with the beer cheese. Very surprised that the order came with two smoked sausages. Very good, I will be going back. Please make beer cheese soup from the dip recipe! read more

We were here over the holiday weekend and they only had the inside bar open, with people asking for samples etc. The line for beer was 20-25 minutes and there are only two single bathrooms which is very inadequate for the size of the brewery. Hubby and I came to Ellijay for a long weekend. A coworker had suggested we stop here, so we did. So glad we did. Really nice place. The owner was behind the counter, pouring and letting you try different beers. We're not IPA people, so lots of breweries can be disappointing with non-IPA beers. Not here. The ultra blonde was absolutely delicious. Not only was the beer great, but the customers were great too. We got into so many conversations with everyone there. The view of the Cartecay River was so peaceful. When we walked in it was raining hard. That lasted 10 minutes. After that the sun came out, and it was beautiful on their patio. Please always say hello to their employee of the month, Midnight. I can definitely say we'll be back. It's a short ride from Atlanta for a day trip. read more

Saturday November 7, 2020 After a long day in the Gilmer County exploring apple orchards and Rich Mountain Wilderness to summit three more 4K peaks for Georgia's 4000 Foot Challenge, we were ready for a beer. They had a delicious Guava IPA and we had some Mexican food from the food truck which was very good too. This is a fairly new brewery and glad it was open. There is seating inside and out, and a live band playing. The Ellijay River meanders by right next to the brewery and it's relaxing to sit here watching the ducks float by too. Inside the pub were nice big TV screens to watch sports (Gators were defeating the Bulldogs), not good. You have a view into the brewery too. Can't wait to come back and try some of their other beers on tap. read more

It was a tad chilly out so we choose to sit inside, were we got to meet their house kitty, Midnight. She was super friendly and let us pet her. I liked how you could choose 10 or 16oz pours. In Historic Ellijay, this brewery was just what we needed after a busy day! We were hungry and the food truck out front hit the spot. However you go to a brewery for the beer. We got the same ipa. I think it was guava but some kind of fruity ipa and it was delicious. Also luckily outside there was a little band playing some popular covers so while we ate, and drank, we got some good live entertainment too! In addition, the brewery is adjacent to the river it is named after so we also got some scenic views from our outdoor location. 5-stars! read more

Great brewery with many tasty varieties to suit anyone's specific taste. I went for red and brown a great amber that has a little apple tartness to it. Amazing! Bartender asked if I was sure, I know going into a brewery you're not going to love everything but then she asked if I wanted to try it first. Whether you offer tasters or not its just nice to see someone cares about their customer experience. Ambiance was great they had darts, tabletop shuffleboard (i think?) and even an old N64. Played a round of mario kart what a unique idea! Great views and nice people and there was plenty of room.
