    Al pastor tacos
    Manna C.

Al pastor tacos. That's it. That's all you need to order from here. I've eaten at this very unassuming place many times and ordered for pickup. There are a few tables inside if you want to eat in the restaurant. I have tried other tacos here but the al pastor tacos keep me coming back. The pork is tender and the pineapple works well. I feel like I'm making a mess every time I order from here since there's so much juices. Add some lime and red/green hot sauce depending on how spicy you want it. Also very affordable. Check this place out!

Came into the bodega hoping to try some bangin food. Ordered a quesadilla, chicharron in a verde sauce, and some other dish served with red sauce. Overall, the flavors weren't to my liking. The style it was cooked in, the chicharron was mostly fatty and blubbery drenched in the sauce. I generally prefer the crispy crunchy way. This was the complete opposite to what I'm use to. The hot sauces were on point. The quesadilla was mediocre, wasn't to die for. My son didn't really enjoy it. He's not a picky eater and I feed him good food so I can trust his taste buds. Verdict - I must give them another try and order something else from their crazy menu. Im gonna give them another chance and have an updated review in the near future. I had a pleasant conversation with the man behind the counter, I enjoy the vibe in this bodega/restaurant. They have a variety of Hispanic soft drinks and some beers I never even heard of which were pretty good.

    Veggie burrito.
    Latef X.

I'm from California, and this place is okay, but not a real Cali burrito. The veggie burrito doesn't really have any veggies in it -- it is a bean, rice and cheese burrito with some pico de gallo. But it is good and flavorful. Wish they had black beans or pinto for a healthier, lighter substitute. Chips are super crunchy and thick -- authentic taqueria tortilla chips. Guac is okay. Their green salsa needs some work -- the flavor is almost bitter and the consistency is too watery. But it has good heat which doesn't always happen with green sauce. Place is a small deli that sells other sundries. There is limited seating and feels a little funny because you're basically eating inside a corner store amongst the aisles of food. Place seems family owned, and the counter man works really hard.

The drinks are just as impressive, with a secret sangria recipe that's always a hit. My go to is the frozen watermelon margarita, refreshing and delicious every time. The chips were fresh and crispy, guac was perfect and so was the fried oaxacan cheese. Dinner we split the gulf prawns that were drenched in a rich and delicious pineapple habanero butter sauce. I kind of regretted we shared the plate. It was so darn good!! My niece ordered the chicken milanesa which was a dep fried cutlet. The sauce that it was served with made it taste better as I found the cutlet could have been seasoned way more. To end the night, we ordered churros for dessert! Those warm bad boys melted in your mouth! The diced peaches that accompanied it were like icing on the cake. All of the servers were pleasant throughout our meal. There is a patio outside for additional seating. It is family owned and if there is one downside is that they are a little slow. But it's so worth it. Go if you're not in hurry. We got so much food: different tacos, quesadilla, elote, horchata, salsa, chips, and guacamole. It was all good. The elote was sweet, salty, and smokey. The chips were warm, the guacamole was creamy with a hint of spice. There was three distinct salsa, one green, two red. One red was super spicy. The horchata was frothy, nicely spiced, and just a little sweet. The tacos were really good. I had the fish, birria, and the surf n turf (shrimp and steak). The fish tasted fresh. The shrimp was bouncy and the steak was flavorful. The birria taco was one of the best birria taco I've had outside of San Diego. My daughter had the chicken quesadilla. She said it was very cheesy. For dessert we had their churros. It was freshly made. The filling tasted slightly like coffee and was molten hot. The caramel dip which was very pudding-like really added to the flavor of the churros. We found our new favorite taqueria.

The enchiladas came with a savory salsa verde sauce and side of rice and beans! Everything was cooked to perfection. The owner was also my server! Around 6:30pm, it was easy for the four of us to snag a table in the back, near the back patio, but there is some seating in the front part of the restaurant as well. I ordered one of their mezcal cocktails with a Tajín rim (El Amante) which was yummy then we started with an order of chips and salsa, chips and guacamole and esquites. The esquites was fantastic, but we wished the guac was larger and came with more chips. For my entree, I ordered a tripa taco and a cecina taco. I cannot decide between a favorite because they were both so good. The tripa was crispy and tender in all the right places. I was worried about the cecina taco being too salty but that wasn't the case, it was perfection. We all appreciated how they served each taco with double corn tortillas, so they held up well. And of course, we couldn't leave without trying the churros. They were just the right size 2 people to share in my opinion but we were all pretty satisfied by then so we were ok splitting 4 ways. Our waiter was really funny and checked up on us regularly. The music here was also great (a lot of Bad Bunny), and the decor was on point. Good food and a great atmosphere!

But anyway, there I was sitting on the patio next to these fake-looking potted plants, staring at my drink and looking at Metropolitan traffic. My Red Sangria came in this tall glass with a slice of orange stuck on top, looking all fancy, and it had a bunch of chopped-up fruit floating around at the bottom that you couldn't actually reach without making a total mess, but to be fair, it wasn't half bad. It was cold and fruity and kept me from having to talk to anybody for a few minutes. Then came the "Tacos Entraña." That's skirt steak, if you're not trying to sound like you're from somewhere, somewhere, where its like common and stuff. They serve three of them on this wooden board because apparently regular plates aren't stable enough for many Mexican restaurants anymore. They were absolutely smothered in this white crema stuff, cilantro, and chopped onions. I'll admit, though, the meat actually tasted pretty damn good. It was thick, properly charred.
