For years I kept forgetting about this place.. finally made it down and boy it was amazing. It's a small spot, with outdoor seating in better weather. The decor is cute, colorful chairs on all the tables. They have a bar and boy ate their drinks great.. the widow maker has muddled blackberries on the bottom and it's made with vodka. The Paloma a fav of my Mine. This drink is made with grapefruit and tequila, also delish and tasty. I also had a tequila spritz also pretty and good. The Barria quesadilla was something new to us. It was tasty and huge. The one thing missing was a small portion of Barria gravy to dip the quesadilla. The Al pastor tacos were delish, they were street taco size but filled with lots of meat. In our second trip I had the steak tacos. It was a no go for me. The meat was well done and rubbery. Not sure it was the cut of meat or if it was well done. I would try again but def request meat to be medium well. The guac was a 6 out of 10 stars served with home made chips which is a plus. Waitress was very attentive, friendly which is nice to experience. Overall 4 stars for this place.
Blink and you almost miss this neighborhood gem if not for the brightly colored outdoor seating. The classic mojitos were surprisingly strong, (or maybe it was my jet lag) but made for a truly "happy hour" on the Sunday afternoon we chose to go. The avocado fries are a must try, but not at all what you expect. Imagine creamy avocado quarters covered in a thin spice crust with a tangy dressing. The octopus in my octopus tacos was perfectly grilled tender, but I wish that there was more acid outside of the limes that they came with. My partner's steak tacos were a little chewy, but the seasoning was on pointe. Our servers were good about coming out and bringing us things we didn't think we needed. The busy intersection behind our table made for some interesting traffic and people watching, but I imagine it can get crazy noisy on a weeknight. All the more reason to have a few more mojitos!
Such a cute and busy Mexican restaurant. This place was jam packed on a Saturday evening. The ambiance with white lights and colorful heart decor was very inviting. Service was good. Food was yummy. We shared nachos and each had a burrito bowl. Portions were very large so we had left overs. The food was solid and flavorful. But it wasn't exceptional and the price points weee Manhattan prices for queens which was a bit sad.
Got out of work a little later than anticipated & needed a DRANK! I yelped around & thought this was a cute spot - The place is right on the corner, plenty of parking. My friend & I parked right infront & opted to sit inside. There's also outdoor dining! The staff was so welcoming & funny! The drinks were STRONG and the aesthetic / decorations were placed so nicely. Very calming ambiance. We started off with the chips & guac that were delish, I don't like my chips too salty so they were perfect! I ordered a burrito bowl with birria - maybe it's just because I've had a lot of birria but it wasn't the best; but the portion was big! I'm definitely coming back for the drinks
We were going to a concert at the Knockdown Center and this place was close enough walking distance. Besides, one of us craved tacos. About 10 min walk from the venue - perfect. Nice, clean place with indoor and outdoor seating, and lovely staff. The cocktails were delicious! Truly. Try them all! Food came out relatively quickly and was really good. If you're in the area, do swing by there. You won't be disappointed.
La casita mexicana is a spot we picked for cinco de mayo. I ordered a pitcher of margarita and the waitress told me it's $45... I said ok because why not? It's cinco de mayo! Once she brought over the drink, I finally understood. It was literally a margarita tower and that's what won it over for me. My partner loved his steak quesadilla and my burrito bowl was pretty good. Wish they had a spicier hot sauce though! Overall good service and very small, but pretty inside.
Run don't walk away from here. I bought a steak burrito and took it home. My 4th bite into the burrito and I felt something crunchy. I spit the stuff out onto a napkin and found a head of a black rock, wing of a fly, and some maggot carcass. Yuck and yuck. Luckily the restaurant gave me a refund for the food but Roaches carry many types of bacteria and viruses that will make you sick or kill you. Good luck.

I've been coming to this restaurant for many years, and my family still eats here almost every Friday. We have even held parties here and it is a great restaurant for a party as well. The staff is always incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the space itself is cozy and charming. The food and drinks are consistently phenomenal. I've probably tried just about everything on the menu at this point, and not a single dish has ever disappointed. Even though I don't usually like salmon, theirs is prepared so well that I actually enjoy it. Some of my personal favorites are the birria tacos, tortilla soup, and the wet burrito. The drinks are just as impressive, with a secret sangria recipe that's always a hit. My go to is the frozen watermelon margarita, refreshing and delicious every time. As a longtime regular, I can confidently say that once you try La Casita, you'll be hooked and want to come back again and again. read more

I didn't realize that Mexican food could taste bad. Enchiladas in pieces and soggy, got one cheese and 2 chicken, chicken is dry and could not cut the cheese, it's a big block of hard cheese that seems burnt or old, I'm not sure but inedible. No option to order side or sauce of sour cream on the menu so asked on note and did not get sour cream. French fries no salt. Also fyi not typical salsa. Ordered on Insta Cart / Uber Eats read more
Only thing better than the food, was the service. Everyone was very sweet. We ordered shrimp nachos, tacos de pulpo and veggie tacos with rice & beans. I was surprised at how good the veggie tacos were - they had a blend of sautéed cauliflower, carrot and broccoli with some guacamole, fire! The sangria was perfect, not too sweet and had mango, apple and blueberries. Second time coming here, will definitely be back again! read more

Quality of food is great, service was quick and cutely decorated ; definitely will come back - so so so affordable and the plates are so big - my fiancé got the fajitas and the plate was HUGEE and sizzling ! read more
Our favorite local spot!!! The food is so good!!!! The drinks are on point as well. Very friendly service. Each time I've been here I've gotten the shrimp quesadilla and omg it's delicious. It tastes authentic and it's just the right amount of food. Do yourself a favor and try them out! read more

Amazing place. The drinks are super strong Idk what they put in that sangria "secret recipe" food was delicious as well. Nice decor inside. Some typical Mexican food , some Americanized Mexican food. read more

Fantastic! DELICIOUS!! a must visit restaurant. First and foremost everyone is welcomed here (vaccinated and non-vaccinated). We ordered a guacamole to start which was freshly made, a drink name letti for two that had me buzzed and happy lol. For main entree I ordered Birria tacos (3), those were juicy, cheesy and everything I expected. My fiancé ordered mi casita burger with onions, Oaxaca cheese, guacamole and jalapeños which was to die for!!! Check this place out. read more

Absolutely AMAZING. Every bite was delicious. I definitely will go back until I have tried everything. The workers there were so nice and friendly. It was my first time trying this place out and I asked what do they recommend? The gentleman taking my order said I am gonna love the food and I have heard that before but he was RIGHT this may be my favorite out of all the other places I have tried. There was a lady who worked there as well and she was very sweet. Place was clean which definitely counts so overall I am totally happy I finally gave this place a try. My husband may not be because now I want to try everything on their menu. Great Place!!! read more

I normally don't leave reviews for a restaurant. But my sister told me to meet her here for some good food and good drinks, so of course, I go online to read the reviews. I almost didn't go because of the review that stated this place was just like a Taco Bell with lipstick on. I ordered the birria tacos , a classic mojito, and the surf and turf dish that came with a side of quinoa salad. The food was FUCKING delicious! Whoever left a bad review is a hater! Meat- tender. Steak cooked medium well how I prefer it, and dipped in the consume that came with my birria taco? now all I want to eat is quinoa salad! Pictures attached so you can see I'm not lying! Love this place and will def come back! The only complain that is credible is that the restaurant is definitely small, but who cares?! read more

The wet burrito here was amazing! Not too salty like some burritos. The fajitas were also great. If you get a beer, they bring it out in a mason jar with a handle that was in the freezer aka the best way to drink a beer! The bathroom was also very nicely decorated and clean + the music was fun! read more

Not for me. We ordered avocado relleno, asstd tacos nachos. We could barely eat our food. We finished the avocado relleno but had to scrape all the mayo on them. We left suffering from stomach ache. Everything were doused with water downed mayo. Never had anything like it. Pls showcase the freshness of the dishes instead of covering them with mayo. read more

I really enjoyed this place, they have the cutest outdoor eating setup that's refreshing and cool! The service is great, very attentive and nice wait staff. The drinks are also super tasty and refreshing, my husband had a regular mojito which he enjoyed and I had the el Jefe which is very similar to a jalapeño margarita and a cucumber margarita as well, both very nice and strong. But the game changer was the food! OMG! Everything was delicious! Full of flavors and super fresh! We had the chips and dip with queso fundido w/ chorizó, Sooo good!!!! We also had the shirt steak with rice and beans and the Mexican burger! Everything was delightful. I'm a huge fan of Mexican food and I'm glad I came across this place! Great food, I've never been disappointed. The drinks are tops and happy hour is popular. The y are careful with food allergies as well. They know what rare cooked steak is and have vegetarian options. Watermelon margarita is out of this world. read more
