Working in Fernley and needed some good Mexican food on our day off. Based on reviews, I decided to give Guadalajara Grill a go, and I'm glad I did. I arrived early just past their opening hour, and by the time I left, they were starting to get quite busy. I was craving the Machaca Con Huevos and was happy to see it on the menu. Ordered that as well as a new Margarita on their menu called La Toxica. The chips and salsa were good. Chips were thicker than normal but so good. Salsa was good but never asked if they had a spicier option. I ate all of them so obviously o complaints! The machaca was so well prepared that I made sure to give a compliment to the chef. Seriously, they do deserve credit as much as the rest of the staff. If you've never had this, give it a try with flour tortillas. Break off the tortillas and grab some machaca and enjoy! I love a good traditional Cadillac Margarita, but have been trying other options these days. The La Toxica had excellent flavor. Again, if you love Blackberry, give it a whirl. The lady taking my order was so awesome and friendly. She kept up with the tables filling up and was great checking with everyone to see if they needed anything. The restaurant is somewhat small but has several smaller tables and a couple larger ones, so larger groups could have an issue. Noise level is average. Parking can fill up but I did notice locals parking across the street, so shouldn't be an issue there with that. read more

We were excited to go back since it's been a couple of years however this visit didn't fair as well. Drink ok - El burro - Silver tequila, lime juice and ginger beer served in Moscow mule type of mug. (Forgot to take pix) Service ok not as good as first experience; had to ask for water to be filled. Appetiser sombreros were pretty tasty as so was frozen ice cream dessert. However entrees not so much; enchiladas were small and I didn't like the taste of any meats or sauces. Carnitas extremely small portion of meat (looks like a half order-check out pix when food arrived). It'll probably be another two years before we go back for entrees; may returning sooner just for appetiser and dessert only. read more

We were in Fernley and it was Cinco de Mayo. And lunch time. So, not a tough decision. I absolutely love this place! It's authentically cute, charming and delicious and the staff are super friendly and helpful. It is a hidden gem (or not so hidden since it's super popular) for sure. The street tacos were on special for the day, so my friends had street tacos and I tried the veggie tacos. Along with the tasty chips, salsa and cervesas it was an absolutely perfect meal. read more

No es comida auténtica! Definitely not authentic Mexican food. The service alone--or lack of it--says it all. Authentic Mexican restaurants don't charge for your first serving of salsa, and they definitely don't offer chip salsa for pozole. Even the decor felt off, defiantly cultural appropriation with the "Day of the Dead" decor used year-round. It felt like a gimmick, like what Americans think Cinco de Mayo is, not true to Mexican culture or respect for ancestors. If you want real, authentic Mexican food, go to Las Palmas. They actually know their salsas--and they don't charge you for the basics. I ordered pozole to go and asked for salsa. She said "okay," charged me for my food, and when I reminded her about the salsa, she suddenly said it was extra. I told her, "You just charged me--why didn't you add it?" and she replied, "Oh, I didn't hear you." That was right after she had previously rolled her eyes because I insisted my pozole be bagged. Like, really? I'm taking hot soup in my car--common sense! The little plastic lids on the foam containers never stay on Anyways after she said it was extra I asked what kind of salsas they have, and she said, "I don't know, many types," but couldn't name a single one. Like if a she actually expected me to start naming her "extensive salsas" just so she could figure out which one I wanted--then offered me chip salsa for my pozole. Obviously ella no sabe nada! We stopped here on our road trip and we're super happy with our choice to come here. To think I almost ended up with fast food back in Sparks. I always set up my expectations as to how the food will be based on the horchata and that was really good so I was hoping to now be disappointed. I wasn't that hungry so I ordered 3 street tacos: shredded beef, asada, and adobada. I also ordered a side of beans and ask for a side of the Diabla sauce, which was supposed to be hot! The beans come with some crumbled cheese on top, which made me happy. The diabla sauce was slightly sweet and was not spicy to me. The salsa on the tacos were actually spicier which I found interesting. The street tacos are the usual small tacos that have 2 layers of tortillas, choice of meat, onions, cilantro, and salsa. I liked each of my meat choices. My favorite was the adobada. I also tried some of my boyfriend's chile relleno and that was good. Loved the sauce on top. Friendly service. Clean restaurant and bathroom. Overall, probably a 4.5 but more towards a 5 than a 4. read more

The staff are always top tier , the chef was very accommodating to my husbands corn allergy and made us flour tortilla chips so that we could enjoy the tres amigos dip together, we had tacos also on flour, we were lucky and got here early right before the rush so it wasn't packed as usual, food was excellent, staff also fantastic read more

I can't eat Mexican food anywhere else anymore. Nothing else compares and I find myself dreaming of Guadalajara Grill. The Quesabirria tacos are to die for. The Tortas are amazing. And the staff makes everyone feel like family. They also have a patio that has a nice little fountain with plants all around. Honestly probably the best restaurant in Fernley. Restaurant was clean with fast friendly service and the food was well enjoyed by all in our party of 8. The taco salad was everything I expect a taco salad to be. It is a bit of a small space but it felt homey inside. I ordered a seafood enchiladas plate w/ an extra enchilada. Which comes with 2 enchiladas with shrimp and crab served with beans and rice. I did not get the third enchilada, and when asked about it, they did apologize but I did not want to wait any longer. The beans and rice were ok. The enchiladas were cooked for to long. The shrimp and crab meat were tough to chew the sauce wasn't that great. And the biggest issue I had was the wait time. I sat for over 40 minutes just waiting. The restaurant wasn't packed, and this couple that came in after I came was served first. All in all I waited nearly an hour just to get food. That's including waiting for my order to be taken. Customer service wasn't that great either. To me it felt that other customers were being treated better than what service I got. I will not come back to this place. Plus the food gave me diarrhea! read more

With La Fiesta closed due to a fire, I decided to give Guadalajara Grill a try. The environment was satisfactory and the food was alright. The first visit was satisfactory. There were no complaints with the second visit. Everything went to hell with the third and final visit. I placed my order and I sat waiting for over an hour. Over one hour! This is unacceptable. I walked out and paid for my drink. Two stars since my final visit was a total shit show. I will not be coming back and I am looking forward to the return of La Fiesta. read more
