Service: My order had to be repeated like five times. The persons taking my order didn't understand I wanted three tacos on one plate and two on another.The order was served correctly, maybe it was loud in the kitchen idk. Order was two asada tacos and one al pastor with green salsa. The other was one taco de Al pastor and one buche and an 8 ounce cup of beans. Asada was nothing special, kind of bland. Al Pastor: it was decent, would eat again, it's better than most. Buche: was nicely flavored. Beans: I love beans that aren't completely smashed and have some texture! Their beans were a beautiful texture. The beans fell really flat on flavor. The taste was beans, not beans cooked with any additional flavors. I didn't have more than one bite. The texture was on point though, wish they were flavorful. Taco size: the tortillas are the very small street size. We did see someone get served asada fries which were huge and looked good, I'd swap the meat out. Cleanliness: The store, meat market and restaurant were all clean. Would we return? Doing a 13 hour trip from Salt Lake to Hollister and needed a lunch place that was fast and tasty. Complete no frills mexican market with a lunch counter. They were very cheerful and helpful with going thru their extensive menu. Lots of different items - tacos, burritos, quesadillas... a large variety of meats too - carne asada, al pastor, chicken, birria - OMG! Just incredible! Everything is served up quick, fresh and hot. Relatively inexpensive food! It is a "market" and small seating area for dining. I remember these people when they were only running a food truck and now they have a brick & mortar store front complete with a little market. Half the store is devoted to their taqueria. I wanted the pork ribs but they didn't have it on their menu so I switched to the chile relleno instead. The chlle relleno had a very nice egg batter instead of the thick batter some other places make it. I felt the chile relleno could have had some sauce and crumbled cheese on it, it was a little dry and the cheese in the chlle relleno wasn't quite melted. I will be back to try other items on their menu, I did see birria on the menu. They offered a table if you wanted to sit outside or booths and small tables for inside sitting. read more

Out of town construction worker here..... if you are looking for a quick stop to grab some tacos and a beer and go home, this is the place. They are fast and their food is really good. They have a Carniceria in the back where you can purchase different meats, a kitchen and few tables to eat at if you wish to dine in. They have a good selection of beer to go with your dinner and all the Mexican spices and sweets you could want and also fresh made Chicharrones. A nice little place. The Taco is an absolutely shameful portion size. There was also an onion skin on one of them. I did not receive enough salsas either- even though I ordered them. I recently had the misfortune of ordering from Jehovah's Es Mi Pastor in Fernley, and let me tell you, it was a complete disappointment. I ordered a carne asada burrito with sour cream and guacamole, but it seemed like the kitchen staff decided to play a little game of hide-and-seek with those ingredients. Surprise! No sour cream, no guacamole. It's not like I specifically asked for them or anything. But that's not all - the burrito itself was a dry disaster. The rice tasted like it had been sitting in the Sahara for a week, and the beans were so parched they practically crumbled to dust in my mouth. Maybe the chef thought they were serving a burrito for a camel instead of a human? And can we talk about the lack of sauce? I guess they must believe that dry and flavorless is the new trend in Mexican cuisine. Newsflash: it's not. To add insult to injury, I also ordered two carnitas tacos. I must have missed the memo where "generous portions" became synonymous with "barely-there scraps." There was barely any meat on those tacos, like they were trying to stretch a single carnita to feed a whole village. Overall, my experience with Jehovah's Es Mi Pastor was an exercise in disappointment. If you enjoy flavorless, dry, and sad excuses for Mexican food, then by all means, give them a try. But if you have even a sliver of taste buds left, steer clear of this place. There are far better options out there that actually know how to properly assemble a burrito and put some meat on a taco. read more

Was referred to this place by a coworker who works here in Fernley and it did not disappoint. I got 4 different type of tacos to try out the meat flavors which were pollo, asada, pastor and carnitas. The pastor and chicken were my favorite the carnitas and asada were my least bit all of them tasted good! I just enjoyed the flavor of the chicken and pastor the most. Such a great place for homemade Mexican food. We had the chili rellenos, veggie tacos, carne Asada burrito and a couple of beers from the cooler. Friday at 5:00 was busy, especially with takeout orders, but we managed to get a table outside (there are two on the sidewalk). Staff are super friendly. This looks like where the locals go. Portion sizes were descent and we left full, but not overfull, like when we fill up on chips and sauce at other restaurants before the food ever arrives. No table service. You order at a window inside the store, then collect it when they call your number. It is a ten-minute walk from the SureStay hotel. read more
