This places charges $8 per beer, which is fine, but then charges you a "5% Supplemental Fee" on your bill. I asked what the fee was for & the staff couldn't really give a good answer... they just noted that they don't get any of it & doesn't go towards their tips. Dear Owner, this is Lame. Charge prices that you need to, but don't charge random BS fees on top of your already over priced beers. The $1.20 wasn't a big deal & gladly would pay as part of the normal price. My family and friends and I love coming here for dinner! Although it is more of a sports bar with an arcade, they do have some full restaurant seating options. Their food is amazing here as well. Honestly everything I've ever ordered has impressed me every time. I recently had their blackened shrimp chop chop salad and it was divine. Their vinaigrette with feta cheese really brought all of the different flavors of the salad together. Shrimp was perfectly blackened too! Some of my favorite apps include their brussel sprouts, buffalo cauliflower, buffalo and sweet chili lime wings, bang bang shrimp, and onion rings. I got a $23 surf and turf sandwich which seemed like the bread just read about surf and turf online. Very little meat no veggies and no sauce on stale but somehow greasy bread . . Fries were the star of my show but the ketchup was chipotle and after asking for more it had a very different consistency. Small salad was just that a pedestrian tea cup salad with a vinaigrette and stale croutons. Quesadilla seemed like someone took a scoop of fatty meat and cheese and place it in the middle of the tortilla leaving the outer edges sad and dry. Beer list was okay- some great breweries but only their flagships. I will say $10 for a pint of space dust is insane. It's not good exotic or expensive- it's just over 9%. The ambiance left much to be desired as our table conversation was drowned out by high volume awful poppy music, a table full of teenagers throwing ice at each other and their parents two tables over screaming across the table. The cherry on the top a a surprise 5% feet to cover increased cost. Ummm. I just paid $22 for a quesadilla with about $2 worth of ingredients $23 for roll that pretended to be a sandwich and $8-10 a pint for generic beer. What increased cost is not covered?!? Well, we were going to go to the burger joint that you can get In and Out of really quickly, but we had a gift card for Draft Republic so decided to give that a try. It had a cool sporty vibe with lots of TVs showing various games which was entertaining for us. As luck would have it we arrived a few minutes before Happy Hour was ending. Score! The hubby ordered Happy Hour salad, and the pretzel bites to precede his meal. He liked the salad, but I had the pretzel bites and they were soft, warm, and pillowy and the beer cheese dip was out of this world! I also ordered the $20 Happy Hour deal which included a smash burger, a small salad, fries (I upgraded to onion rings) and a beer. Everything was fantastic. The burger was so tasty and it was a nice touch to get the salad AND a side. The hubby got the chicken Parmesan - two huge pieces of well prepared chicken and a good amount of spaghetti. Needless to say, we took half of our meals home, which was a bonus. Our server was Carlos and he made sure we were taken care of. He even made sure my burger meal came out at the same time as the hubby's main dish, even though it was a Happy Hour item. Service was great. We were greeted upon entry. Our server, Kayla was so lively and attentive. We came here around 4pm. There weren't that many people, but a good amount. Ambience is ok. That being said, the food was not very good. We ordered Philly cheesesteak, which was not good. It was pretty much regular bread that you can get from a big name grocery market, stuffed with melted kraft cheese and chopped up beef. There was no flavor to it. You can only taste the cheese. We also ordered fish and chips. The crust on the fish was really hard. I am convinced that they refried a piece that was sitting under a heat lamp because the fish was also dry. We came here on a whim for my husband's birthday. Service was AMAZING. Management was super helpful. One of the games wasn't working and my 7 year old tapped the card repeatedly not understanding it wasn't working. Totally drained the card. Our sever immediately got management to fix it. Pros: -I like how they had a ton of TV's and it's a good place to watch a game. -They have a ton of beer selection. -Their food menu had plenty of comfort items (burgers, wings, etc) Cons: -Service was kind of letdown. The server seemed distracted, and it took a while for us to get our food. -The food was just ok. I loved the brussels sprouts at the San Marcos location, but at this one it seemed like they didn't put as much effort. They barely put any sauce. I would give this place a try again and hopefully the food and service will be better! I checked the menu again, then noticed the small print at the bottom of the menu stating the fee. That being said, the atmosphere is decent. It's what you expected of a nice beer sports bar/restaurant. Food was just ok for the price; each person spent about $35 (1 item + 1 beer + 5% fee) before tax and tip. Service was fair, but we definitely felt deceived for not being told about the fee at all until we asked about it after paying. We won't be back for sure. While the service was fantastic and we had a great waitress (the only reason for a two star rating instead of one), the food was extremely lacking. The white truffle pizza seemed promising, but it arrived looking burnt (see photo) and it was so difficult to eat and hard. We couldn't eat more than a couple of slices and had to leave the remaining slices left cuz it felt inedible and hard to bite. We added chicken on top and it was also so extremely dry and unseasoned. The sliders were mediocre, nothing stood out and definitely didn't live up to the price (~$20). The best thing of the sliders was the salad it came with and the fries. I had to give Draft Republic a shout out and let everyone know what an amazing place this is. We had never been here before but the ambiance, food and service were outstanding. We were a party of 12, who came to watch the Dodger/Padre game. Our server Mia P couldn't have been sweeter or more accommodating. I come here a lot after work and the bartenders are always super nice and easy to talk to. One night after a long shift they even gave me a drink on the house, which really made my night. Stopped by here with a friend who recommended this spot because we both had our dogs. It was great location overlooking the wetlands, although parking was a little tough. It's large space with both indoor and outdoor seating. It's a great place to watch a sports game with so many large screen tv's. The fries were particularly good, hot and crunchy. There's an extensive beer selection -- the only hard part is figuring out which one to choose! We were not there to watch sports, but if you are, it's a great place to be. There are TVs on every wall. I counted 16 in the area we were seated in, and I'm sure there were more elsewhere. Let me start off with why I give it 3 stars, the place has potential for more stars, if the restrooms weren't so horrible. I always look into the cleanliness of a place, and the bathrooms have major sewer issues, it makes it stink horribly, and worse it was so dirty they need major cleaning. Another reason for 3 stars was our service, our waitress we saw at the beginning and at the end no personality nor effort, she didn't want to be there I get it, but show up and at least check if your table needs refills. Now the 3 stars is for the actual food, nice quantity for happy hour prices, the food was really good too no complaints there. I just wouldn't go back until those restrooms get some much needed TLC. We always wash our hands before eating so a clean place to do so is a necessity for us, please do better in cleaning. read more
