The food is always delicious and I appreciate this is one of the few that have queso blanco! I ordered a steak chimichanga with rare steak and it was so good, cooked to order. The service is great and outdoor patio seating is nice in the summer.

Food is good. Not mind blowing but good. Really I'm knocking stars off for the SLOW service. Like geez, they weren't even that busy.

First time at Guapo's and it's your average tex mex type vibe. Pretty big menu with large range, but I settled for the shrimp fajitas. I had a good amount to take home, but the shrimp wasn't that seasoned, but I did appreciate that I was wild caught. The service was pretty attentive and they continued to bring out complimentary yummy chips and salsa for the table as it empties. Our food came out in a timely manner. Make sure to make a reservation if coming for dinner because the restaurant fills up in the evening hours. We ordered the spicy guapomole which was the perfect size and pretty fresh.

Came by for a quick drink but also grabbed chicken nachos. Service was attentive. The nachos were fine, nothing amazing but nothing great either. We had to ask for hot sauce and once that came the nachos came alive. Drinks were good! I'd come by in the future for just drinks.

Food is always great and their drinks aren't too bad. Prices are reasonable. Service can be great or so so depending on how busy they are. We never really wait whenever we come.

We stopped here for brunch after walking to see the cherry blossoms. The food and the atmosphere was great. My husband had the classic breakfast and I went with steak and eggs. Hands down that was probably the best steak and eggs I've had and they serve it in a sizzling hot pan to keep it warm. It also came with a habanero sauce that didn't disappoint. Our only issue was with our server Bryan. It was very hard to track him down as he rarely came to our table outside of taking our order. My husband asked him if they had jelly for his toast which he didn't know but said he would check. He never came back! Other than that, it's still a good place to try and we'll be back.

Perfect Saturday meet up with Friends. Just outside is also the ice skating rink to enjoy during the winter. Elkin was our waiter that expressed his approval of our meal choices which made us look even more forward to its arrival. Our table was split of seafood chimichanga, shredded beef chimichanga, asada tacos, fish tacos and Camarillo tacos. All very good. The camarillo was a bit sweet though. The frozen strawberry marg was delicious. The spicy jalapeño was good but not spicy enough even when asking for it to come spicier for round 2. The passionfruit marg was pulpy but good. The chips came with a pico type salsa and a smoky salsa which both were really good. The chips was thin and airy which were so good. The restraunt was clean and had cute decor all around. Highly reccomend.

I love Guapo's! It's not that the food is SPECTACULAR but it's pretty good and consistent across locations - for me, anyway. I always get the enchiladas or the three-item combo. Their enchiladas verdes are good but the sauce defffff isn't as tomatillo-ey as I like. Needs more of a flavor pop. I love the two salsa options they serve for free. One is served warm and is more roasted. The other is cold and like a runny pico de gallo. Tried the cajeta this time. SO MF GOOD. Enjoy.

Our party of 5 had a fantastic experience at Guapo's of Georgetown in December. Service was fast and attentive. The food was fresh and generously portioned. The location was excellent, just next to the ice rink with a festive vibe and ample seating indoors as well as a large outdoor space for warmer months. We enjoyed a variety of dishes, including the Guacamole with Chips, Ceviche Fish Tacos, Chicken Fajitas, Chidken Enchiladas, and Steak Fajitas. The atmosphere is outstandingly festive which made for a great meal with good Tex-Mex food and fantastic margaritas of course.

I ordered tacos to go this is all I got. No sour cream no sauce. Nothing I asked for. So disappointed

Horrible tacos to go. I ordered the yellow cheese and got white cheese. Also I ordered three tacos and I didn't get any sour cream, lettuce, or hot sauce.

I haven't eaten at a Guapo's franchise in year. When my best friend and I decided we wanted to eat lunch in Georgetown we couldn't decided where and then saw they had a Guapo's. I enjoyed the PESCADO EN SALSA CANCUN SAUCE with extra Cancun because why not. It was very flavorful. While the service was slower than we hoped we had a great lunch not from the water on their patio.

Service was amazing and food was very good! Would definitely return! I went for a birthday and every person (including me) enjoyed what they ordered!

The allure of this Guapo's is mostly because of the vibe - it's right next to the "iconic" Georgetown water fountain/ice skating rink. I say iconic for Georgetown, maybe not for DC - but still - it's nice and is situated nearby the waterfront mini-boardwalk. That said, food is good - tortilla chips were thin and crispy, the accompanying salsas were tasty (and thankfully one of them is not too spicy and tastes fresh). Fajitas were tasty even if they're not the best I've had - I would still have them again. The steak fajitas were notably better than the chicken fajitas. Service was attentive. All-in-all, with the vibe, it made for a good dining experience.

When it comes to hanging out in DC, the parking situation will make you reconsider your plans hahahaha! For me anyway... One of my girlfriends suggested this place & made reservations but I don't think you really need them here. We arrived on time and was greeted by the hostess and opted to sit outside since the upstairs was closed. The lime and mango combination swirl was delicious...we ordered a pitcher and it was plenty for us 3 gals. The seafood quesadillas was seasoned very well. Full of flavor...I enjoyed these with a garden salad minus the feta cheese and corn. My salad was fresh and the house dressing was perfectly distributed throughout my salad. My girl friends enjoyed their meals as well. One ordered the same as me minus the salad and added rice and beans and the other ordered the salmon with the stuffed crab...can't remember what it was called on the menu but it also was served with broccoli and she added a side of Spanish rice and beans. The maduros were also delicious! Sitting outside was cool but the birds flying all around was kind of annoying lol next time we'll just sit inside lol. I don't think you can go wrong coming here...tasty well seasoned Tex Mex cuisine... Our server needed to be reminded of a few things...maybe it was just an off day for him... Anyhoo- you can't go wrong if you decide to come here. GNO, date night, birthday celebration...I'm sure it'll be a great time. Happy Yelping!

When she first said the name, I actually thought it was a some short of shopping plaza and never would have associated it as a Mexican restaurant. I'm not sure it's history, but seems like a staple in the neighborhood as every time I drive by since that conversation with her, I notice how packed and busy it is. I recommended to my friends who were in town that we check it out and we were able to get seated outside relatively quickly for a Saturday evening. Our table started with their drinks. Half of us got the pina colada and the other half had the margarita swirl. I'd say the pina coloda was pretty good; not too strong and the ones who ordered the margarita seemed to enjoy it. We all had eaten before arriving, so we didn't order too much. They also served complimentary tortilla chips with salsa so that was pretty good and gave us something to nibble on. I ended up getting the shrimp tacos and their tortilla soup. The shrimp tacos were good, but the tortilla soup was the highlight for me. It was very flavorful, and full of vegetables like tomatoes, carrots, and corn. It also had shredded chicken and cheese in it, and was so delicious. I would definitely order it again. Our server was also very friendly and regularly checked in on us. The reason for one star off is just due to the cleanliness of the cups and plates on our table. I noticed food residue still on it, and although I personally didn't use the cup or plate, I didn't care to see it on the table.

I haven't heard of Seven Reasons before but now was as good a time as any to check them out. To start, our hostess Ayana - fantastic and she took great care of us the whole evening! A few standouts: Hamachi tiradito - bananas!!! So good we ordered it twice Bread - could miss it but the Brazilian bread was interesting Snapper ceviche - 8/10 Cauliflower peru peri - 9/10 -I didnt know where this dish was going and as a cauliflower lover, I had to try it. Perfectly fried and sauces were so good. Yellow curry rockfish - 9.5/10. I love that they arent afraid to actually use curry! The tenderloin was so tender too!! And the taro cake very interesting, in a good way. A true stand out was the guava cheesecake - absolutely incredible and nothing like you'd think it would be. I love it when restaurants are super creative with food and the play on flavors were top tier during this meail. We also ordered a bottle of the Chilean sauvignon blanc, which paired perfectly with the food and stood on its own with the tenderloin. Our meal was a pleasure and I look forward to returning to this restaurant.

Again I must preface by saying I didn't dine here or experience the place. I was invited to a dinner here that I couldn't attend, and as a birthday surprise I wanted to send that table a bottle of champagne. I intended to order a Dom Perignon (for which they charge ~$400 per bottle). But the staff was on amateur hour -- instead of taking my order, they altered the reservation, then alerted the birthday person who made the reservation (ruining any potential for a nice surprise gift), and said they would have to cancel the original reservation because the number of people changed. Birthday person had to call them and me to smooth it all over. Then, another person called me to get my email address to send me a PDF to fill out (which I had to then send them on WhatsApp) for my order - a comically silly added bureaucratic/administrative load. Just take the credit card over the phone on the first call/request, like 99% of businesses around the world. This place takes 3-4 steps just to order something... This person had absolutely zero idea that I made the request as a surprise, so it suggests there is pretty poor coordination and communication amongst staff. I'm sure people come here regularly and have great meals and great times. But at their prices, wine/champagne mark-ups, and promise of an 'elevated' experience -- staff need to get their act together.

Michelin Star me PLEASE!…read more I'm a foodie and when I told my friend I was one, he asked how many Michelin Star restaurants I'd been to. I chuckled, because honestly I'm not a foodie snob but perhaps I need to be. Pre Bday dinner before heading out of the country he chose El Cielo to celebrate me first! Located in Union Market, El Cielo hides in plain sight on the corner. Parking is always a win at Union Market hence why I am always there! Ambiance: dimly lit, reservations only, couples galore, and definitely an intimate atmosphere. Service: TOP NOTCH this is why you pay the big bucks! Nothing was amiss! My friend has experience with high‑end restaurants, Michelin star restaurants to be exact so his perspective added a helpful benchmark with what to order. He took the lead and ensured I tried all the top favorites! *They do offer an À la Carte Menu, or traditional Pre-Fixe menu* Let's get into it! El Cielo is located in the vibrant Union Market neighborhood, surrounded by restaurants, coffee shops and clothing stores. The restaurant itself is elegant without being opulent, with comfortable chairs spaced generously apart. A large garage door next to the entrance looks like it opens to the outside in warmer weather -- a nice touch we didn't get to experience. El Cielo holds the distinction of being the first Colombian restaurant in the world to earn a Michelin star. That alone makes it worth a visit for anyone who follows the culinary world. Our server Carla was excellent. She took her time explaining each dish carefully and patiently answered every question. The meal is a journey in every sense -- nine courses, each a small surprise. We began with cocktails. The Don't Give Papaya was fruit forward and satisfyingly alcohol forward. The passion fruit toddy that opened the tasting menu was not too sweet, with fresh fruit juice added to the spirit already in the glass. The truffle buñuelo was the first revelation -- a warm liquid center encased in a delicate corn vessel, eaten in one bite. The texture alone was remarkable. The caviarmañola followed, a delicate crispy croquette, beautifully presented with caviar and sauces. The Tree of Life, a pull-apart bread baked around mild melted cheese, was warm, satisfying and genuinely fun to eat. The tuna was exceptionally fresh and fatty, its sauce a perfect complement. The hiramasa, a kingfish new to me, was served with quinoa that added texture and visual beauty. The Hanami dessert closed the meal with just the right touch of sweetness. The birthday experience -- an edible white chocolate candle with a surprise filling -- was a delightful gesture. And the rose petal hand cream that ended the meal was an elegant final touch. Two caveats worth mentioning. The ambience leans pretentious -- El Cielo takes itself too seriously. And at $600 for two with service included, the price is steep even for a Michelin one-star. I've had equally memorable meals elsewhere for considerably less.
