They then progressed into Assisted Living. In early 2025 my mom was in Skilled Nursing where she eventually passed away. While she was there she had an incident where she rolled out of the bed onto the floor and nobody noticed! It was only when my brother came to visit, he found her! And they wouldn't put rails on the bed to prevent it in the future. In the summer of 2025 they abruptly shut their skilled nursing section, while people were living there! ( That area wasn't profitable enough ). With only a 60 day notice to find other living arrangements! Then earlier this year they sent an email to my brother and myself stating that my 87.5 year old father's needs were too great for them and they were asking him to leave! After his spouse of 64 years has passed away and he is a Type 1 diabetic. WOW! So we moved him over to Rockwood Retirement. They have been LOVELY and professional. Go there! Touchmark's approach is about the bottom line and "no I don't think we can do that". While Rockwood has a caring atmosphere where the staff's approach is personal to the resident and the family and "how can we make your dad feel at home and cared for". Rockwood also has a a minutes response time to emails or vm's while Touchmark has days or no response. I think the choice is clear!

I returned in February 2018 and I was amazed that the building was even better than I remembered! The entire facility had been upgraded, we still had most of the amazing staff that was there from 2009 and I had the privilege of meeting and working with new employees. We have such an amazing team, nursing staff who truly care for residents like they were family, and a phenomenal rehab team that will make a huge difference in your recovery! When you place your family at a skilled nursing home, whether it be for rehab or for long term care, you should feel like home when you walk in the building. You should see a clean facility with content residents. You should be greeted at the front door with staff who help you with any concerns. I know there are negative reviews out there, but from your first step in to the building you will see the difference. We aren't perfect, but we do learn from our mistakes and we educate to make sure that our residents have the best care possible. The best feeling is when we get to see our residents successfully graduate from our program and walk out of the doors! My mother opened an AFH in Spokane and we ended up taking care of my boyfriend's grandmother and ended up reuniting his father with his mother whom he had not seen or heard from in over forty years. It was one of the things that steered my final decision towards caregiving; making a difference and the unexpected soul-touching moments. I might just have caregiving in my blood as my mother was an LPN and my great-aunt an RN. I have worked as an independent contractor caregiver, in AFHs and through agencies and of all the places that I've worked throughout my time as first an NAC and then as a CNA I have to say my favorite has been/is "Home Care Assistance". It's evident from the start that they care about their employees as well as their clients and the managing staff in Liberty Lake are beyond amazing. They all need to be honored and recognized for their hard work; Tia and Amy and Jen and Brandie should all get an award for going above and beyond mere management duties. I wouldn't want to work for any other agency ever. I am really happy that they, and all the clients I've been assigned to so far, really seem to like me because I plan on staying on for as long as they'll have me. I admit we were jaded thinking terrible things about our dad and what was happening to him. At every turn we are impressed with this rehab. I would name drop the superior people working here but just look at the whole staff roster. Everybody here shows friendly compassion and skill in treating patients kindly and respectful. I hope my children choose this place for me should I ever end up in this situation.

She assured me that Hospice of Spokane was available 24/7 for any questions or assistance I might need. The medical equipment supplier was prompt and efficient, ensuring my father had everything he needed to be comfortable at home. It was a blessing to see how quickly and smoothly everything came together. This support helped me prepare for what I knew was inevitable. The nursing staff, Crickett and Mary, were invaluable. Their care, compassion, and thorough explanations on how to manage my father's needs exceeded my expectations. I never had to worry about reaching out for help--everything I needed was delivered immediately, and the support was truly outstanding, as well as many others I never met behind the scenes. When my father passed, Hospice of Spokane handled the arrangements with the funeral home, easing the burden during this difficult time.
