My pet got better care at our Vet. This IS NOT the best hospital in the area, as they claim. When I tried to get some answers regarding discharge practices and procedures, I was given the run around. When I did get through to someone and asked for a name, I was told they were not at liberty to say. When I asked why I was being forwarded to security I was told, because they Don't Like Your Questions. I got a call from the head of security who threatened to have me arrested if I called again, then hung up on me. You will be better served at another of the many hospitals in the area Coeur d Alene, Spokane Valley or Spokane. I also had 3 surgeries at Kootenai Medical and was given excellent care with all discharge practices clearly explained and followed. Good luck! ​

They have severe issues with staffing, competence. After her surgery she was brought to her room in uncontrollable pain. It appears the nerve block that was administered did not take, and The CRNA failed to inform the surgeon. He was also directed to perform a block after the surgery. He did not. I asked the staff for the next 5 hours to bring in a doctor or anesthesiologist. This never happened. It was only when I went to the nurses station and told them to prepare her to leave AMA, and I would be calling an ambulance to pick her up, did I finally get some help. Before leaving, the Doctor called in a prescription pain relief to Walgreens. When we arrived there, the pharmacist told me he couldn't fill narcotics with in 24hrs. It was very fortunate that I had recently had surgery and had pain medication with me. We also cancelled additional surgeries because of poor treatment with pain management , and staffing concerns. I would never have a procedure there again. I later had a procedure at another facility, and My wife later had 2 other surgeries at Holy Family. OMG, what a difference. She received the very best care, and actually left the hospital laughing. I would not recommend this campus to anyone considering a surgical procedure.

I am from Texas and I recently visit the facility due to my brother that had Covid back in February and was on a ventilator. Two other hospital did not give us very much hope. We have him at this facility for almost a month now. And he is alert motivated speaking and also is in physical therapy because of these wonderful people. The nurses not only ignored me Everytime I pushed my call light, a few even came in and moved it across the room so I couldn't access it, and when forced to come In and do their job more than once I was put on a bed pan then left to go on break so I would be left for 20 minutes in pain. I didn't do one bit if physical therapy and after their neglect put me back in critical condition, they "lost" my belongings, and avoided my families attempt to collect them as long as possible, but only offered to replace a couple things (the cheapest versions possible) but my pictures ect cannot be replaced without any apologies, just attitude. Thanks to the wonderful sacred heart and St Luke's staff I made a full recovery from the neglect I suffered there. Don't let your family go to this death trap!!! *Edit I had a "owner" respond to me very rudely previously on Google reviews saying be tried to resolve my issues in 2015. Poor Care & Overmedicated…read more My family member and I did not have a pleasant experience at Sunshine Terrace. Unfortunately, the facility is dirty and doesn't smell clean. One of the shower rooms is coed, and not kept clean. My family member slipped in the shower a few times because of slime buildup, and no rubber slip mat. My family member expressed that the food is terrible and the water tastes awful as well - asked for salad instead of meat because meat effects digestion - was told "we're trying to save money - you have to eat what we serve". On a number of occasions, several items were missing from her room, after her visits out. Meds were not monitored properly during residency there - often so tired and groggy - fell down the stairs, during a visit with family because too doped up, and also in the dining room, at the facility while waiting in line for lunch - our family was never notified. Phone calls concerning this and many other things were ignored - not able to reach doctor on site to discuss concerns about being over medicated. Worst of all, while looking into missing money, from disability that was unaccounted for, my family member was confronted, in room by 3 persons on site, and told "you have 3 hours to pay or you have to leave. Mind you, this was a resident who's not always of sound mind, and who sufferers from Psychosis. I would not recommend this facility. The staff there, with the exception of two kind gentlemen, Joe and Ed, were insensitive and dismissive Do your research before you leave your loved one here.

My aunt liked the facilities; so we sold mom's home and gave away dog to move her into Northstar, Coeur d Alene (Owned by Stellar Living out of Utah) Mom was there less than 1 week and I was getting calls from Tambra and Melanine, saying "we need to evict your Mom because she isn't a good fit for fit for independent living and we don't have assisted living available". I reminded Melanie and Tambra that they assessed her as such. Melanie said, "Well, I'm not a nurse". They evicted her but kept the rent and sole the $2500 deposit. They merely said we keep all deposits to cover administrative expenses. UNREAL !!!
