Their whole demeanor and attitude is that of angels, compassion, empathy, love..When he was in the hospital, he was not receiving the proper pain management, they kept delaying the hospitals hospice program while my dad was dying in pain. I was desperate to get him home. Alena, the administrator, moved mountains to make that happen. They got my dad home in less than 18 hours, they were by my father's bedside within two hours of me calling desperate for help, which felt like a miracle during such a difficult time. Daniel, the nurse who came to the hospital, was so attentive and caring such a such a genuine person. And once we were home, nurse Julie and nurse Grace took over and truly went above and beyond. They made sure the bed oxygen tanks supplies and meds was delivered before my dad even got home.They made sure my dad was comfortable, out of pain, and surrounded by dignity and respect--something he was not receiving in the hospital. there was also a Sweet CNA that came to help as well, Because of them, my dad was able to pass peacefully at home, just as he deserved. That means everything to me my father and our family. All of my father's friends and loyal family were able to come visit with him before he passed the next morning.. I highly recommend this hospice agency to anyone going through end-of-life care for a loved one--or even for themselves. Don't wait until the last minute. We were assigned Emily as our case manager and she was great to work with. However, we interacted the most with Grace who was on-call at the time we engaged them and helped my Dad a good bit during his last couple of days. Grace was super patient with us when we asked lots of questions about his care and hospice in general. LifeChoice also provided a rabbi for us and I think my father really appreciated that the rabbi visited with him for over an hour. I think they provided my father a lot of peace and comfort during his final days. My only regret was not engaging them sooner. Thank you LifeChoice for all of the help you provided my father and our family.

The VA gave us the name of Home Care Angels agency to assist my dad. The VA was will to pay for 9…read morehours and we wanted 20 per week. It took a week and they set up an appointment, which got cancelled the night before. The worker could no longer help us. They called a week later to say its hard to find a worker for 3 hours a day 5 days a week that most of our care givers want full time. We haven't heard from them since. When I called today they felt when they said that its hard to find someone for 3 hours that meant they were done helping us. We would have been open to 4 hours less days it didn't come up. It stressful enough to have an aging parent but then this is how were dealt with.

My grandpa just passed away a couple of weeks ago, but he stayed in here for almost six days. He was in the hospital here before that, but was moved to hospice, and honestly, I am so thankful he had the care that he did here. The staff was so accommodating and sweet, and they really did their best to make my grandpa comfortable and relaxed. He had dementia, and they dealt with his anxiety very well in the first couple of days of him being here. Then, he obviously became weaker and weaker the longer he stayed because he stopped eating or drinking and was on much medication, but all through it, they supported not only him, but also us through it all. They always made sure to check up on him, and I know this for a fact because my family and I were here A LOT. They made sure to change the way he was laying every few hours so that he wouldn't get bed sores, and they treated him as though he was in their own family. Every time we were here, every staff member who was taking care of him would come and talk to us or ask us personal questions to get to know him and us more. Everyone here is unbelievably kind and personable. My grandpa would always shave his face every single day, so when he was in the hospital, he kept asking for it to be done when he was still able to talk. They finally shaved his face here, and it made all of us very happy that they cared enough about what he wanted, even when he wasn't as aware or "present". They even asked us how he liked his face shaved (side burns or not). Overall, I think this was the best place for him during his last few days, and I would never hesitate to have someone come here for palliative care.

Suncrest Hospice blocked my phone number, effectively avoiding accountability for their corrupt administration. I want to clarify that my concerns are not about the nurses or CNAs; it is the administration that is entirely corrupt. I urge everyone to request their medical records and read every detail carefully. The lies, misinformation, immaturity, and irresponsible behavior I encountered were unacceptable. I am a 58-year-old daughter who lost my mom, and instead of offering support, they made my grief and panic even worse. I do not recommend this organization because of the administration--particularly people like Timothy Dance--not because of the dedicated nurses and CNAs involved in my mom's care.

My Mom then entered into Hospice and Suncrest came in about 3 months ago and Gloria was her nurse Mon-Fri, she really cared for my Mom in a special way and took good care of her along with the staff at the Waverly. Red from Suncrest was just as amazing, keeping me updated every week, They both are very compassionate and love what they do and it shows. The last week of her life Red and Gloria helped me through it all. and Gisela and her staff at the Waverly as well. The social worker Stephanie, was actually there in the room when my Mom took her last breath. She looked so beautiful, Gloria would dress her, put a little blush & lipstick on and when she passed, she looked like an angel, Both of these places are so wonderful. Together, they are the best choice if you are needing care and compassion for your loved one.

I have had other family members at 2 different facilities in the Northwest suburbs and Symphony far surpassed them. Were there any glitches during the 6 weeks? The answer is yes. But the positives far out weigh any negative experience. All of the managers were exceptional when it came to addressing any issues we expressed. The Administrator to the Director of Nursing to the Social Worker and the head of the Therapy Department and the Reservation Manager were all highly approachable. I would like to mention by name, Lindsay and Andrea, the Occupational Therapist and the Physical Therapist were outstanding. When my family member first arrived at Symphony they could not sit on the side of the bed, could not sit themselves up and could barely walk even with assistance. By the time they left Symphony they were able to walk 200 feet with a walker. My loved one requires dialysis and the fact that Symphony offers dialysis was a Godsend. My loved one had to go to the hospital once per week for chemotherapy and Symphony arranged for transportation. The same for the 10 sessions of radiation they had to have...10 days in a row. If you find yourself in need of a rehab facility I hope you check out and consider Symphony in Buffalo Grove. They, for sure, far exceeded my expectations.
