I used this company since 2021, when I moved and bought a new home in 2023 I called them for service. I called them back to add some cameras which I purchased from them. I didn't realize they added 4yrs to my contract of 1yr when I PURCHASED cameras from them. I just lost my husband I'm a single mother, caring for my son. I'm also caring for my elderly mother and I'm not working. **I called explained my situation since I've been a loyal client for 5yrs! wow, what a terrible business. was away on a trip when I had an alarm that went off for hours, Guardian was totally unable to help. Then, when I left for work and get out the door in time, the alarm went off for maybe 15 seconds, and Guardian dispatched police (which stuck me with a dispatch bill)...doesn't make me feel safer Owner response doesn't detail why this was protocol when I didn't need it, and not protocol when it was needed. Have now tried to call to cancel, and it seems they won't let me. Sales guy locked me into some predatory 5 yr deal swiping through the agreement on his iPad in my kitchen. Paid for a Wi-Fi extension in a new build. Was told that everything was included in the price. Months later still fighting to have the extender installed was told by two separate customer service reps that it was paid for, was as being told that by the sales rep. Now the company wants $250 for the device to add to the hard wire. Been fighting since October. It is now June. This company does not honor their promises. DO NOT use them. Thank you for responding. The app will not allow me to respond to you, so here is the update... I finally got Tasha in the loyalty dept. I'll see how she does. Until then I will continue posting my experience on any and all consumer review platforms. When the issue is resolved, I will add updates. But people need to know that your sales staff will lie to make sales and that the company is more about sales than honoring what employees tell customers, even when it's noted right in from of them in the call notes. Update: after speaking with Deb and exchanging a few phone calls, this was resolved to my satisfaction. This company absolutely STINKS. They are dishonest, their customer service is reprehensible, and their business practices are downright shady. I purchased a new build smart home that came equipped with a digital keypad, keyless entry (with code), and app-controlled garage door entry. I spoke with a Guardian security salesman about purchasing the security system add on. Having been satisfied with his description of the product, I decided to purchase the system. However, he failed to mention 2 things: 1. I signed a 5 year contract with a STEEP cancellation fee. Granted, I should've read the contract more carefully, but what a dishonest move by the salesman to not mention it. What a horrible way to treat people. Guardian should be ashamed of themselves. 2. I repeatedly told the salesman that I wanted to be able to arm the house to ensure that it's secure. The salesman never told me that I could do that with the keypad as is, I didn't need to make a purchase for it. He kept going on and on about cameras and their phones calls when the fire alarm goes off, etc., but he didn't listen (or withheld the information deliberately more likely) to my concerns and just sold me something that I didn't even want. Just pure dishonest, shady business practices. On top of the salesman blatantly lying by withholding information, the equipment was also not installed correctly. My house had a bracket installed in my living room for a camera, but the installation tech instead put a bracket in a different place and installed a camera that apparently hasn't been working for 3.5 years. I've been paying for a camera for 3.5 years that I had no idea wasn't working until I called to cancel the service. No apology, no credit, no refund. They still demanded we pay the full cancellation fee. This company is an absolute disgrace run by a bunch of clowns. Do not ever use their services. I'm going to post this review everywhere and tell everyone I know to tell everyone they know to never do business with such a dishonest organization. read more

They come out, are very nice, install your system, send you online paperwork for signature, but never tell you that you're signing for a 5 year plan and that if you cancel early, there is a HUGE cancellation fee. I spoke with someone from their corporate offices named judy who was patronizing and when I asked to speak with the CEO's (Brian Cippoletti) office, judy told me he doesn't speak to customers and neither does his secretary. Apparently, he doesn't care about customers, nor their complaints. They tell me the fee is for the equipment. I told them to come and take the equipment back and I was then told they don't take it back. Now as a handicapped senior citizen on a fixed income, I am stuck paying this huge fee because I have to move out of that house. PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY. read more

I would not recommend Guardian Protection. I was a Guardian customer for a year. I then sold my house and moved to another in the area. I chose Guardian again because I was familiar with the system. On moving day, the Guardian worker was at my new home to install the system. The individual never asked me about installing the system also in the. bedroom. I assumed he would install it there as was done at my previous home. He worked all day, literally. Because I was involved with moving in, I paid little attention to the Guardian worker. He never did install the bedroom system. This is something I need because of my age and disability. I called Guardian Security to have them install the bedroom pad. I was told I would first have to sign the necessary paper. I agreed and asked them to send me the paper by email. The email did not appear. The individual send the email three times and it did not show up! He never told me to look in spam/junk! I, being rather a novice in computer use, never considered checking the spam. I asked that they send the paper work, necessary for me to sign, with the installer and I would sign it before the work was undertaken. To send it by regular mail would take a week or more to receive it and another week for the company to receiver it; and then there would be the delay in getting an installer to my home. I was not comfortable without a pad in the bedroom. Since I could not get the work done by Guardian, I called ADT. Without delay, ADT came and installed the necessary items and I now have a system to be relied on and easily accessible to me in my home. Guardian has still not discontinued by account and it keeps adding to the bill. I do not recommend this company. read more

Had a representative named Collin called to sell me this system. What they fail to tell you is that the system is completely useless because they do not obtain the permit's with local law-enforcement for you in order to actually monitor your home like other providers do. If you read your contract closely it is in there that YOU are responsible to go through the trouble of contacting law-enforcement and obtaining a permits as well as paying all fees related to it and guardian will not begin actually monitoring your home until you contact them with the permit number! Again, This is something they fail to tell you intentionally and I had to call back and have somebody in Customer Loyalty dept check with the permit dept to verify this was the case for the county I live in. Fortunately I realized it right before the installation guy pulled up into my driveway and was able to immediately turn him around and back out the door. I was also within the three day window to cancel with no further issues but you have to mail a copy of the notice of cancellation on page 5 of your contract within three days. It is an extremely dishonest practice to sell someone a burglar alarm system hook all the equipment up into their home and know that it is completely essentially useless! Stay away from this Company I felt very scammed !!!! read more

I have been a Guardian customer for over 5 years and I am completely satisfied with the service!! When I moved into my home, the previous owner had the system already installed and I had someone come out to activate it and check it out. This gentleman's name is Paul. I had very limited problems with the service since activating it and anytime something was wrong or I had a question, the customer service has been AMAZING! They are based out of Pennsylvania and are available 24/7 by phone. Every single person I have ever spoken to over the phone has been phenomenal and extremely professional (and I called a lot when my phone line shorted out!!). Recently my phone line became no longer functional and I was ready to cancel my service so I called. The wireless service is only a few dollars more and I was happy to continue my service! To upgrade the system, I did have to schedule an appointment to have a technician come out to help. Guess who showed up at my door? PAUL! And he remembered me!! Wonderful company with wonderful employees and very competitive pricing!! I would recommend them to anyone! read more

We have had the service for 3 years...it has NOT worked properly from Day 1 - there have been tech's out multiple times and the issues with the sensors were never resolved. I tried to cancel our contract and was told that there is a $750 cancellation charge. So basically, I am paying monthly for a service that my family is unable to use. This is by far the worst alarm company I have used, I would strongly recommend using anyone but them for your home protection service. Salesman lied to me about keeping my monthly bill under $40, I requested auto monthly payment (even gave him one of my checks for routing #) but hardcopy statements came with an additional cost of $3 per month for paper. Called company had to create TWO different accounts and passwords just to change my existing profile/info AND another password and different website to call with questions. Took two months to get my bill to the correct amount I wanted one day one. Horrible. Then I got new windows and had to suspend my service for FOUR months, I saved all leads on window wiring and when tech came to reattach he used new leads on each window and didn't tell me they would cost me over $200 just for that plus a service call AND labor cost. Over $500! I had each lead in a baggie and labeled for each window at each window. Some lady in PA called and then wanted to see me carbon monoxide detector service from that company. I told her HELL no they couldn't give me anything from Guardian home security system. Wish I could move to end the service. read more

Like other reviews, we added alarms to our windows and when the installer was done asked me to sign for the installation, which I did. What he didn't tell me is that I was apparently signing a 5 YEAR CONTRACT! After we had already been with them several years. I called to cancel because we were moving and was told I had to pay out the remaining contract. And it's not like the install was free- I paid for it all. Now Im getting monthly calls that I'm "behind" in my payments. I will also say that the services were poor anyway. Someone broke into our house and I got a text alert and that was it. This company will tell you anything to charge you a non refundable fee for a service call. They sent a service agent to my home who didn't know the basics about my security system or turning it on, he was in my home for only ten minutes (most of that was his apologizing) and sat in his car outside my home for over an HOUR - and charged me for the overtime! He admitted that no work was done yet he asked me to sign the work order which stated that he completed the work, including the extra time, by telling me not to read it! The home office has continued to harass me and bill me EVEN THOUGH I AM NOT A CUSTOMER AND NEVER SIGNED A CONTRACT. Don't let these crooks get your phone number- call someone else. read more

I called in and spoke to a customer service rep, after waiting 20 min, the first time and let them know I needed to cancel, at which point they hung up on me. I called back in and had to wait again to speak to someone else, and which point they told me I had to speak to a special "move" team, but they were in a meeting and I could leave them a voicemail. No supervisors are available to speak to me either. THIS IS INSANITY Are you kidding me? I have to waste tons of my time just to cancel service? After year one, I called to cancel the service and was told it was a binding contract and that we could not cancel. They offered to cut the monthly price by $7.00 but they wanted me to commit to another 5 year contract in addition to the 2 years left on our contract. Or they would drop the price by $5.00 if we committed to another 2 years. A very unfriendly "customer retention" specialist called us at 9:00 pm at night to give us this information. Switched over in 2012. Big mistake. Installation was not done correctly the first time. Purchased two key fobs for my elderly parents, which they were not comfortable with using. Called the next day to send them back and was told I could not. My smoke alarm kept going off, even after replacing the batteries. Had to finally disconnect it. Was charged a fee to remove it from my panel. It seems they are not willing to work with their existing customers, and are more concerned with getting new ones. Nathan was professional, friendly and super compassionate to my situation. Due to my vision impairment I was no longer able to see the alarm panel and Nathan offered me a solution to be able to use my alarm system again. He offered me upgrades unique security features to my situation and even lowered my existing balance since I was behind on payments due to a financial hardship. I give this company zero stars. We have called and written this company for three months now to straighten out a mess and still have not gotten any resolve. We received a call from their sales person "Enrique" who claimed we were part of a new home purchase (Silverstone-DR Horton) which included a fee security system with this company. He came out and then informed us we were not actually part of the free security system. We told him we were not interested in purchasing the system unless the builder paid for it. A couple weeks later, we received another call from "Enrique" informing us that he go approval for said system from the builder. We made the appointment with Enrique and signed the contract. he then installed some of the devices (making holes in wall). He informed us that we needed to get the door bell and thermostat from the builder and to call him once we had it so he would complete the security system. He assured us that we would not be bill for the monthly charge until the system was up and running. We called the builder and were informed that they NEVER authorized the security system and we must have been misinformed. We then contacted Guardian after receiving a bill for 124.00 for the monitoring of system. We have written three letters and numerous calls and Guardian still refused to correct their books. We just got another bill for 184.00! This company FRAUDULENTLY misinformed us and now refuses to correct their error and continues to bill and call us. We are writing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau as well. read more

had guardian service for four years with only one problem that was solved through BBB, now the charging system went bad over a week ago and no-one will fix it...no one from Guardian will help. I have a pace maker and have to practically jump out of my skin every time it rings, approximately every hour or more for over a week. With a dozen or more calls to Guardian, I was given instructions to dismantle messages and it would fix itself, however it never did. Then after a week, we were told that someone would come out and disarm the actual sound but battery still would not be charging, he did this and as he pulled out of the driveway, it kept going off. I called dispatch for him to come back and he never did, one to have a technician at Guardian tell us that it is impossible for him to do what he said...so why did he come out...maybe to get an extra $49.00? Called again and they said remove plug, that didn't work, called again and again being told the same instructions that we were being told from day one that didn't work. They sent out three batteries and of course if the charging panel isn't working, then why would a new battery work. We even told the technician not to come in the house id he wasn't going to put in a new charging panel, he said okay, and put in a new batter after entering and said he wasn't qualified to put in a charging system. Called Guardian to report him and there they were again, trying to give us manual instructions on how to fix this as they did the first day. My blood pressure is up daily and my heart races every time i hear this sound and we are told they cant fix now, don't have charging panels in stock and besides they are booked for the next couple days. no further word, last contact yesterday, still waiting, waiting, waiting for fix....so after I posted this review, someone called immediately, however they did not have my pass word correct and insisted on the last four of my social which i didn't feel comfortable with giving to this unscruplost company. Then they told me to call and update my password and i called and asked why I have been using it for the last two weeks on almost daily calls to them and they are now saying it wrong, so they verified it just as i originally said and I was switched back to Hector that seemed to help and said he would get it right out to us if it was on the truck. Well yesterday, I was told they didn't have one, so in the mean time i will keep jumping almost out of my skin till they get one on the truck, you would think a large company like this would keep their trucks stocked up for every major problem that would arise, especially if it endangered peoples health., but they don't. So I told Hector thank you, if he can make this happen it would be great, however, I have had many of these conversations with their office in the pass and no one made happen what they said. I told hector to get new customer service reps because theirs have an attitude and I feel like it was rubbing off on me. I hate complaining every day, over and over, especially with heart problems, it raises my blood pressure. May be I should never have gotten mixed up with this company, but we have over 5,000 dollars invested in this security system. it is not the cheapest company and should be one of the best. read more
