I called at 1:05pm for my car to be towed and was given an ETA of about 2:07 for pick up. When 2:30 rolls around, I call AAA and they say that they're working on a tow truck for me. I call again at 3:30 to follow up and was told that they were working with Cali Towing services to get me a tow truck to tow my vehicle. Apparently their data machine was down and no one had told me what was happening. Finally, at 5:40pm I get a tow truck from Cali Towing Services...about 4 hours after my originally quoted ETA. I understand that it's New Year's Eve and that there are not that many willing workers. I can be forgiving of the longer than usual wait times because it's a holidays and most places are short staffed. But it is important to communicate these updates with your customers. The lack of communication is what upset me. Furthermore, when my tow truck did arrive, the attendant was extremely rude towards me. My car was badly damaged and totaled in front. He stepped out of the vehicle and immediately demanded that I explain to him why I needed his services. When I pointed out the damage on my car, he sighed frustratedly and demanded that I give him my drivers license and car keys. I offered to show him my AAA card because I was instructed to have that ready. He just waved his hand at me and asked me why I was trying to give him his AAA card. He did not wear his mask properly; it was hanging by his chin and not covering his nose and mouth. He seemed to be annoyed at my presence and didn't really explain what he was doing. Again, I understand that no one wants to work on a holiday, but I don't think it'd be asking too much for the guy to crack a smile. It was cold, it was dark, and I wasn't having the greatest day myself. Also, as a registered nurse, I can empathize with how much it can suck to work weekends and holidays. I get it. But it wouldn't hurt to treat your customers with a tad bit more courtesy. I appreciate these services but I don't appreciate being treated like an annoying burden, which is how this guy made me feel. He hooked my car up to his tow truck then waved me off and told me "you can leave now." When I tried to offer him some information on where he can park when he got to the drop off point for my car, he cut me off and was like, "well you're gonna be there when I'm there so why are you telling me this now." When he arrived at my home to drop off the car, he kept gesturing at me and waving at me frustratedly while asking me where to park the tow truck. Sir, I was trying to tell you this information earlier before you cut me off and put me down for sharing this info!! When he took my car off of the tow truck, it was on a busy road and he simply left the keys in, and got in his tow truck. No explanation on what was happening. He didn't turn on my hazard lights. He didn't let me know if there's anything else he needed from us. He just...walked away and left. I just....assumed that he was done...and drove away. And that was it. I felt like he wanted to keep our interactions to a bare minimum and that he really didn't want to deal with me at all.
