I've had policies on furniture purchased backed by them and have tried to file claims but they never qualify. My most recent fiasco is a dresser drawer that they actually repaired and it broke again and after coming to look at it they wanted me to get the part! I'm not a furniture repair person but I tried with no luck. It's been going on since Christmas and no communication, I can't find a part, the store where I purchased the piece is even worse, no other repair service will help, and my drawer is still broken! read more

We had our furniture moved by United (not recommended) and had some banged up. Thankfully, I did my research and called Guardsman Furniturepro in Tempe. Ed came out and fixed some of it on the spot and took another piece to his shop to repair. He returned it in less than a week. You would never know anything ever happened to it. He is an honest man and a perfectionist. In addition, his prices are fair. If asked, he would tell you how to do it yourself. But after seeing his work, you will want to have him do everything. Also, if he cannot do something, he will not pretend he can. He contacted a place for me and gave me an estimate from them. So he goes above and beyond the call of duty in terms of repairs and customer service. The next piece of furniture that my dog decides to chew on will go to Ed. Before I get into my review, I just want to say I have not yet used them for a job. Now that's out of the way, I called based off the reviews from yelp. I am buying an oak dining table and chairs and was looking into refinishing whatever I get from a budget Craigslist purchase. I let the guy know my plan and he gave me a ball-park price. The reason I haven't used these guys is because I think it is beyond my budget for anyone to refinish what I want. He did describe the the process they do and what work would need to be done to do it properly. He was very knowledgeable with the questions I had and extremely patient. I want to say it again... he was super patient and helpful with all of my questions. I had a lot. That was even after he knew I wouldn't be able to use them for my project. He then gave me some suggestions of how I could do it myself. I would recommend these guys to anyone based off that simple conversation. It's VERY rare to find that kind of customer service anymore in any business and it was evident to me that they take pride in their work and aren't willing to take short-cuts. I brought in my antique dining room table and chairs for repair and could not have been more impressed with the results. Ed and his team did a fantastic job and made the dining set look like new! I've made attempts to repair it a couple of times with other vendors, but their fixes were less than stellar and less than temporary. I purchased a used bedroom set that had one of the trim pieces missing from a drawer. I took the drawer here and after my experience there is nowhere else I would bring furniture for repairs. Ed at Guardsman knows more about wood and furniture than any living person on the planet. He was not only able to match the type of wood, but he custom made a stain to match my furniture. I mentioned that the bed had a scuff mark as well, and Ed threw in some stain for me to take home. They really go above and beyond for their customers! 10/10 would use again! read more

Brought a hand railing for my staircase in to get it restrained to a darker color. Also brought him a piece of my wood flooring to match it to. They were so knowledgeable and friendly on the phone, and unlike any other place, they were EAGER to have my business! I have done business with them twice, once for a broken dining chair leg, and another time for a coffee table damaged by a teething puppy.
