I was visiting in town looking for local coffee places. This is exactly what completed my search. Smooth, light, coffee with amazing real flavors. We ordered hot and iced pistachio lattes lightly sweetened and ordered beef and goat cheese with mushrooms empanadas on the side. Probably the best empanadas and pistachio lattes I have had. First time visiting this cafe after seeing a foodie content creators video and it did not disappoint. I love food and the spinach feta empanada was delectable. The pistachio and tres leche lattes I got were so flavorful and not your normal too sweet latte which I loved. This cafe is so cute, I loved the theme inside and the couches were awesome for the casual diner that me and my 4 month old baby are. Beyond the food and drinks was the absolutely incredible, above and beyond service I was given. I ordered and sat at the couch with my baby and an older woman that worked there came and sat next to me and talked a little to me. When the barista brought my drink order out the woman offered to take my order to my car, she insisted and I was so impressed by their genuine caring nature that I had to share it here. I was sitting on my couch early this morning scrolling Instagram when I saw a reel (yes, I know I'm behind the times, but I'm not on Tik Tok) of an adorable coffee shop that had flights of coffee. The presentation was so attractive that I bounced up of the couch, enthusiastically woke up my better half and headed to Pleasant Grove. A thirty minute drive at 8am on a weekend? WORTH IT! This little shop is on a cute street that I didn't know existed. Lots of old shops that appear to be under revitalization. Plenty of street parking and a good amount of seating, although it got crowded as the morning went on. The word is getting out about Guayoyo Cafe, so don't sleep on it. We opted for the Christmas themed flight and it was the RIGHT choice! Not only was the coffee delicious, but it was oh-so-cute! I didn't want to dive into it right away, I wanted to admire the work of art that was the Rudolph, Grinch, Frosty and Santa Claus coffee. We also ordered a couple of savory empanadas which offset the sweet of the coffee and they were incredible. The staff was so welcoming and kind. What a beautiful retreat in cute downtown pleasant grove! The decorations are inviting and the space is perfect for a girls brunch together or just grabbing something to go. I got the banana matcha, cinnamon roll, and an empanada. They were all delicious but the item that stood out the most was the banana matcha and the empanada. Both so delicious, and worth the visit! I had seen Guayoyo Café on social media and it looked amazing so I had high hopes. It was everything I expected and more! The inside is bright an airy with a beautiful mural and fusion hispter coffee shop/hispanic vibes. We went for Mother's Day and it was very busy, but the girl at the front was so welcoming and took the time to explain their menu and available options that day. We got a flight of drinks, which is the way to go if you are like me and struggle to pick one thing. They come in a wooden flight with cute little cookies which my daughter loved, and they were all yummy (my favorite was the horchata latte). We also got three empanadas to split, and we had different favorites but they were all good. I loved our visit and will definitely be back! read more

Cute little cafe in PG. They have a couple of flight options and I'm never one to pass up a flight. I'm a matcha lover and had to get that flight. The coconut was my favorite and the banana cream was so good. They also have empanadas and I had to get some, the original and a recommendation from one of the baristas was the chicken. You get sauce options to accompany them. The chicken was so flavorful. Definitely recommend visiting. We went on a Saturday morning after hiking Stewart Falls, it was packed but they're pretty quick with your order. Super friendly staff. The coffee flights. The only place around salt lake that I've seen have coffee flights on their menu. I'm from the east coast, where coffee flights are getting popular, and coming here satisfied a part of me missing home. They staff were gracious enough to let me swap out a chai for something else, and you get a cookie with each coffee! The coffee shop is located in a cute historic part of town with the mountains in the background. There's a wonderful natural skin care shop and an award winning cupcake place next door, where my friend and I did some shopping! The ambiance to the cafe was lovely! It's family run and small, their empanadas are fantastic (the beef was so good) and they also have sweet pastries on the menu. The coffee flight was the main event for me. The coffee was delicious, albeit a bit too sweet, and the portions were generous for the $16 before tax I paid for the flight. I would highly recommend coming here! read more

This cafe is soooo cute! I love the decor inside and outside of the cafe. The baristas are super helpful right off the bat and greet everyone with a bright smile. Food and drinks wise everything was a hit. We tried their empanadas (chicken, pulled pork, spinach and feta), pulled pork sandwich, and had their tea and coffee flight. The chicken was a little dry but nothing their amazing sauces couldn't fix! Flavor wise all the dishes were tasty. They were super nice and allowed me to change the matcha drink in the flight to a different one too! The drinks were not only cute but also perfectly sweet for each one! The food was awesome. I ordered takeout because as many others I have seen them on social media. The shop is so cute and had a really welcoming feeling to it. I got the refresher rose, la delicada, and la exquisite and my my was it exquisite. The drink was really joy at first sip. The la delicada was good but not my favorite flavor despite being a combo of my favorite flavors. I think it was maybe a but muted or I didnt pair it with the correct sauce (guayoyo sauce). The la exquisita though with the smoked garlic sauce blew me away. I honestly at it so fast it was gone before I realized it. For the refresher, I have a slight allergy to red 40 and forget about it so I had to call the west jordan location to ask if they use red dye or strawberries and they told me its strawberries for anyone else out there struggling with an allergy to color. Why did I call west jordan? Because the pg locations phone went straight to voicemail and I forgot to be an adult and ask in person. Anyway, delicious food and I definitely want goto go back and try one of their drink flights. read more

Came for the coffee flights, stayed for it all. Saw people hyping this place up on Instagram and had to see what it was all about. The restaurant is in a pretty quiet part of Pleasant Grove, making parking pretty easy. There's an eye-catching mural right that you can't miss and some tables outside for outdoor eating. The place itself is tiny inside--one of its few downsides. If you come, you could potentially be in for a really long wait if you don't just order to go. But they make great use of such a small space (and it's well decorated). It took probably 30 minutes to get our food and we didn't get cookies with our coffee flight and I'm not sure why (maybe because we ordered other food too?)--but that aside, the coffee flights were creamy, sweet, and had so much flavor. They're pretty filling too, so they're great for sharing. We also really enjoyed the caprese sandwich and picana sandwich. Didn't try the empanadas this time around, but heard they're definitely not to be missed. All in all, great place. read more

Big fan of this particular location. The "delicada" empanadas are my absolute favorite and they're even better with their guayoyo sauce (though I honestly recommend them all). Their business was so great, they have self ordering at the front so the workers can get your drinks and food out faster. Cute outdoor seating that I loved and the food came right out to us! The workers were so sweet and the coffee was delicious. I got the bbq sandwich and it was one of the best sandwiches I've ever had (that means a lot), my friends got the empanadas. A great upgrade to Pleasant Grove Main Street. Service was great, all employees were very attentive. The caprese sandwich was a top item for me with great flavors, fresh ingredients and soft bread. The empanadas were also flakey and fresh. I would opt out of the sweet pork next time but the veggie was great. The coffee flight was fun but a bit too sugary / sweet for me personally. Next time I would like to try out a drink a bit more coffee-focused to see where they land when it comes to their coffee.
