La Brioche is really half bakery, half restaurant, and then...mathematically impossible, but like 10% market. I did not look at the grocery shelves, and I didn't have time to dine in, but I saw many people eating lunch there, so this might be a great option for an Argentinian meal! I just eyed the bakery cases, and there was a lot on offer! Mostly sweets, but a few savory things too. The one nearest the entrance held the most: cookies, pastries, full loaves of bread, smaller biscuits and all manner of carby delights, then the one of the other side seemed reserved for sweets, though on my visit it was probably only half full. In between the two is the front counter and register, and a small heated case with empanadas and pizza available by the slice. I quickly picked out my goodies, the girl who assisted me was friendly and packaged it all up nicely, and I was on my way. I ate my coconut macaroon (labeled as torta de coco, dulce de leche y chocolate - practically a title!) in the car and yummm. It is basically an oversize macaroon layered with dulce de leche, a foundation of sponge cake, then the whole bottom half coated in chocolate. I don't go crazy for dulce de leche, but I liked this application, and this was definitely the favorite treat. I also got a chocolate dipped palmier, and La Brioche's chocolate, while I would not describe it as dark, is a good one, as it's not gross and milky. Unfortunately the cookie was rather stale, but I ate the choccie dipped portion 'cause it's a sin to toss good chocolate. At home, I heated up a tortitas de cicharron and beef empanada at 350 degrees for about ten minutes. The first is basically a biscuit with teeny bits of pork sprinkled throughout, and just tasted like a particularly salty biscuit. The empanada was generously filled with beef and seasoned with loads of cumin, yet somehow bland. My selections ended up a little over $8, so very reasonable. Besides the first cookie, nothing really stood out as great, and it all seemed a bit stale, so this is not a new favorite bakery. I'd return to try the food, though, and with such overall favorable reviews, perhaps it was just an off day. read more

Where did this place come from?!? I happened to randomly notice it one day after leaving the grocery store nearby and decided I would make a quick stop by when needing a fast lunch today. This a a legit bakery and cafe. How is this not on every list for dessert places in Utah county? I only tried a beef empanada and a pastry as I was running on my way, so I realize my review is currently limited. But I literally said out loud, to myself, as I finished - "That. Was. Delightful." It is a little hidden in a small strip mall but there are quite a few tables inside to be able to have groups if you want, or grab it to go. The display cases in front are full of luscious looking desserts, fruity or chocolatey. Other menu items also looked really good. I decided to try a new place for a quick dinner and dessert. It was a little tricky finding this location the first time. I was able to park close by. I did have to wait in line for a while even though there were only a few people in line. I tried the ham and cheese empanada. It was pretty good. I also tried the chocolate-covered alfajores and didn't really like it. They did have a lot of other desserts that looked pretty good, especially a good variety with dulce de leche so maybe I'll try another dessert another day. read more

AMAZING!! Being from Argentina, I need to have my Panadería (bakery) close by, it's a culture thing. I don't know ‍ This is a family owned bakery, so you've got to understand the passion, love and time that goes into this place. From the amazing meals, to the extended inventory that's available, and of course... the amazing variety of FACTURAS (pastries) they have available! The family always welcomes you in with a warm hello or "holaaa," that never gets old. My guess is, I'll be back soon and I'll order more substantial food, and I'll love it. That's the hope anyways, because there was lots of promise in the stuff I had. La Brioche is an unassuming bakery in the strip mall, with lots of Argentine goodies. I was pretty excited to see a bunch of facturas in the case, as I haven't seen this little pastries outside of Argentina. If you're a newcomer, get the ones stuffed with dulce de leche and you can't go wrong. They've also got a few different empanadas on hand--I'd say stick with the regular beef, as the ham & cheese and chicken (?) may not be your cup of tea. They're also around $3 a piece, which is the going price I suppose, but I prefer the cheaper and smaller versions, and like to pack them away in my belly all quick-like. On the wall by the TV there are a few imported Argentine goods. You've got your bitter bottled drinks, your yerba mate, dulces de membrillo and batata, and one of my faces--the bolsa de galletititas surtidas. It brings me back.... The folks there are nice. There's not much order to the ordering process, but folks typically form a line in those kinds of situations, and it was packed while I was there, so a line was formed. We were the only ones there (Provo/Orem residents: WTH!? It's up to YOU to keep these guys in business), and our food came right out. One chicken, one beef. Both tasted great, though I think I preferred the chicken. They were gone too soon, and if I hadn't been in the company of my much skinnier friend, I would have ordered about 20 more. If you're accomplished in the art of Argentinian cooking, there is small grocery section along the back wall. The baked goods also looked to be worth trying out. The place is a little austere, but the owners have made an effort to dress it up with bright paint and nice table cloths. I definitely recommend La Brioche! A cute little shop in the middle of the strip mall. It's easy to miss and has random closing hours but it's worth the trip. I'd suggest showing up earlier in the day because when we went around 7 PM, the shelves were already pretty empty. Luckily there were still enough offerings for us to try some of their highlighted items. We got the beef and chicken empanadas, primavera sandwich, and a little cookie. The empanadas were both delicious, worth the price, and a good portion. I preferred the chicken over the beef but both are a good choice. The chocolate covered caramel alfajor cookie was surprisingly delicious and leaves you wanting more. WHY I only ordered one idk. The only thing I wouldn't get again was the sandwich. La Brioche! Wow. This place is really good. I lived in Argentina for about a year and fell in love with the food. This place brought back so many memories of eating delicious milanesas, facturas, alfajores, and more! Seriously couldn't get enough, which was great because I won the drawing that night and went to pick up a giant bag full of more facturas and bread! Awesome. Love this place and you will too. I had a milanesa a la napolitana and my wife a sandwich de milanesa. Both were incredible. From the bakery I would recommend anything with dulce de leche and any factura that has the jelly stuff. My husband served his mission is Uruguay and they serve something that reminds him of Chivitos so we went to try them out. He said they were perfect and I actually liked them a lot!! Having lived in France and also traveled Europe extensively, this bakery is not "European style" as the sign claims. It's mostly Argentinian food (whether it's authentic Argentinian or not I can't say). All of the signs for the desserts are written in Spanish. I went for dessert and after realizing it was not really European, still ordered several things and tried to enjoy them as "Argentinian." Did not taste anything worth coming back for.
