The hotel was recommended by friends. It was clean, and the staff were friendly. Unfortunately, I accidentally left my personal hair dryer behind--which I fully acknowledge was my mistake. I've tried reaching the hotel by phone, but no one has answered, and there were no options to leave a message. I also submitted a message through their 'Contact Us' form but have yet to receive a response. Very disappointing!

Great find in great little city of Poulsbo! Had everything needed for a family of 4 with free hot breakfast, microwave and small refrigerator. Humongous TV in our room and used the hotel's hot tub in the courtyard. Great service provided by ALL staff!

I wanted to visit Poulsbo for a few days. This place had a lot of good reviews and was very close to downtown, so I booked a room. The positives - lots of parking, room was clean, friendly staff, beds were very comfortable, and the big tv was great The negatives - basically, the bathroom. It was very cramped, but if that was the only problem then this review would be four stars instead of three. Toilet always needed to be flushed twice. The bath tub did not drain well at all, which was a little gross. I'm not sure how nobody caught that before they put someone in the room.

I have to be honest -- the reviews of this place made me apprehensive to stay here. Glad we stayed here this past weekend, as some of the reviews here are harsh. There is no elevator, but it's a 2 story hotel. You really don't have to walk too far. It's not a fancy hotel, if that's what you're looking for. The location is perfect - in the heart of downtown Poulsbo, and away from the noisy main streets. Check in was easy, service friendly. We came with our dog, and cost $20/night (under 40 lbs). The room itself was clean, with a nice big tv and speedy wifi. It comes with a complimentary hot breakfast (they even had the blueberry flavor to make your waffles). The walls were on the thin side (could hear our neighbor coughing) and the bathroom toilet was on the small side (the toilet paper roll was pretty much smooshed next to my legs). These seemed minor compared to all the positives. Overall, it's a clean, comfortable, friendly hotel situated in a great location with fair prices. It has AC/heat, and even a nice area in the back for the pups. Would def come back to stay here next time were in the area!

Staff were really nice and kind. Free breakfast was good as well with a clean dining area. However, I took a shower before heading out and noticed a severe mold problem in the ceiling lights in the bathroom. I've included two photos to help you see. The floors in our room were also very bumpy which was kinda weird. Not bad for overnight stay and staff are great, but the mold needs to be checked out. Giving three stars for great staff.

We stayed here on Sunday and it was bad from the moment we checked in. We arrived a little after 4:00pm and was told to wait because their server was down and they couldn't check us in. When we got checked in, I had to swipe my credit card about 4 times before it went through. When I went up the stairs to the room, the room key did not work on the door so I called the front desk. After the room key was fixed, we went out. When we returned, the room key stopped working again. When I called the front desk, I was told I needed to go back downstairs because my credit card didn't go through. I booked the room through the Red Lion website so my card was on file. The room is tiny. If you sit on the toilet, you cannot close the door. The area behind the toilet is brown. The next morning, I grabbed two bagels to go for breakfast and they were both moldy. At least the bedsheets looked clean although I noticed they only go 3/4 of the way down the bed so a quarter of the bed sides is exposed. Motel is in need of an update. We were in the room next to the "Linen" closet and it looked like we were on the top floor (motel has 2 floors) but it sounded like someone was on top of the floor we were on because we could hear other people move and cough. I was shocked that from the upstairs hallway (no elevator available) we could hear every word clearly from the conversation the person on the first floor was having from their room on the phone.

I overhead the manager talking about waiving the 30 minute break and audit implications and telling the new hires that they could take a 10 minute break if they needed it in their car or wherever they wanted. The manager went on to say that if 30 minute break was really needed it could be taken and at one point there was a comment about signing out. I was just trying to toast my bagel and put some cream cheese on it for my son but it was impossible not to overhear the conversation. To me it felt really unfair as I don't think these new hires could say anything otherwise to these comments because they were accepting the job. When I left I asked a room cleaner about it and she said yes it is a labor practice issue but then said she likes working here very much and her boss is great. I asked because I really like the staff here and I was hoping I was just confused about what I thought I was hearing. Upon check out the manger in a very aggressive manner showed me the law about how an employee can waive their rights. I let her know my concern was that her new hires might not feel comfortable speaking their mind. She responded by saying they would feel comfortable and that she mentioned that aspect in the very early hiring stage too. She went on to scold me for not coming to her and I let her know that as a patron I do not have to follow any specific standards and really just wanted to get the heck out of that office. As I drove away with my son I felt really upset and could not get the rude look she gave out of my head. It was truly one of the most unusual hotel experiences I have ever experienced. It has been hard to get this person out of my mind her hostility was palpable and now I see I am not alone: Front Desk Leadership: A recurring complaint describes a front desk manager as having "extreme anger issues" and acting as if they own the property. This individual is allegedly responsible for making the work environment miserable for the rest of the staff. Lack of GM Presence: Reviews suggest the General Manager is rarely on-site, delegating significant authority to this front desk manager without sufficient oversight. This has led to a culture where staff feel forced to "go along with the nastiness" to avoid conflict.

The tower rooms are very conveniently attached to the casino and easy to get back-and-forth to your room. If you stay in a Resort Room, that building is not attached and you have to walk through the parking lot to get to the casino. I would say that that's the only downfall during the winter time of staying over there. But that is where the pool is so it just depends on what you're looking for at your stay. I have no complaints about the room, very clean and nice decor. My husband wished there was room service for breakfast the next morning but that is not available. I also wish they had valet parking. There is not nearly enough parking in the parking lot so if you don't find parking, you have to park in the parking garage and then walk all the way around back in to the hotel. Hotel staff were very friendly and the checkout process was easy. The second part of this review is going to be on the service from my work holiday party. The room was beautifully set up and the food was delicious. The staff that were coming around refilling water and taking plates were very attentive and friendly. We really liked Richard. The one employee that we encountered was the bartender assigned to our room. My first encounter from her I thought she was just having a bad day and I let it go. Not welcoming or friendly at all. Not even a smile. But as the night went on people started talking and it seemed everyone was having a not so good encounter from Robyn. She did not ID anyone all night, except my coworker that asked for a mocktail. She was rude to some people and unprofessional to others. It just progressively got worse. Yes the management will be reaching out to the contact they have at the casino to let them know. I was just so taken back about how somebody could go out of their way to be so rude at a fun holiday party. They have 4 washers and 4 dryers for guests to use (I'm not sure if there were more upstairs). It was $1 for the washer, and 0.25 for 10 mins of drying. They offered a complimentary breakfast for guests in the lobby. Some of the items were individual sized milk, cereal, fruit cup, sliced apple packs, boiled eggs, pastries, and sometimes breakfast sandwiches. They are usually really good at refilling the refrigerated items if they notice it's running low....but get there early if you want your coffee. I usually picked up breakfast around 8:30-8:50 and sometimes the coffee canisters are already empty, which is understandable. It isn't a big deal because you can make a pot in your own room, or you can go across the street to the Mini Nex and just buy some there. The only problem I noticed with our stay was that the rug around the AC unit in the bedroom was soaking wet. We would turn the AC/heater off whenever we left the hotel but it would still be wet. We mentioned it to the house keepers and they put towels around it for about a few days, but it was still wet. We didn't mind too much because we were out and about most of the time so it didn't bother us.
